Chapter 531: Chapter 520 What a Good Show (1 Update)

Mo Shigui also took part in the testing of the ga cabin’s performance on this instance, but he wasn’t using a ga cabin; he was just there to make up the numbers.

Silver had organized this instance not with the aim of completing it, but purely to test whether high-intensity combat while using the ga cabin would have any negative effects on the body and consciousness, and to see how great the risk of skill rampage, like with caffeine, really was.

The instance for testing was Abyss Tower, whose monsters were primarily those eroded by the abyss, yet the central tower itself was a place of absolute safety.

This was also quite suitable for that group of NPCs who joined the leveling mission with a sightseeing ntality.

“Those who logged in using the ga cabin follow to run the instance, those without stay on the tower to ensure the NPCs’ safety. Does anyone have anything else to say?”

Silver clapped his hands and reiterated the instructions he had given outside the instance; of the forty-five people in the team, only thirty-eight had logged in using the ga cabin. The remaining seven, who were just there to fill the numbers, would stay on top of the tower to protect the NPCs.

After all, even if the instance was approached with a sightseeing mindset – to watch the spirits perform – the safety of the clients still needed to be protected to so extent.

“No problem,” Zhao Mingwei said.

“The captain is staying behind? Then I… I’ll be right back.”

Qi Junzi glanced at the forty-five NPCs entering the group instance. She quickly found the Holy Light Goddess among the mission’s clients, but this ti she was taking up Zhao Mingwei’s ga cabin slot.

And Qi Junzi was also aware of how important this ga cabin performance test was for the future market release of the ga cabins.

Qi Junzi was that rare type of woman who didn’t let personal feelings interfere with business; in simple terms, she was a woman of reason.

“Then let’s get going!”

Silver really led the other players who had logged in using ga cabins out of Abyss Tower like a tour guide.

Mo Shigui watched as Qi Junzi followed the team out of the tower, then turned his gaze to Zhao Mingwei, who was looking at the Spirit Forum.

“Has your relationship with Junru not made any progress?” Mo Shigui stepped forward to ask Zhao Mingwei.

Back when Mo Shigui was serving in the Conquer the World, Qi Junzi had already erged as a talented rookie on the professional gaming scene.

At that ti, Mo Shigui felt that the young lady had a thing for Zhao Mingwei… but which esports girl involved in disputes wouldn’t be moved by Zhao Mingwei? Focused, serious… and he had an appearance that gave off a genteel and secure vibe.

“Progress? Regarding the guild?” Zhao Mingwei asked, sowhat puzzled.

“Don’t play dumb…”

“Speaking of which, Coach Song, when do you plan to get married? It’s been almost a year, hasn’t it?”

Counterstrike!

At Zhao Mingwei’s counter-question, Mo Shigui’s facial expression changed instantly, becoming incredibly ugly – to an extre extent.

Having known Zhao Mingwei for so many years, Mo Shigui was of course aware that although Zhao Mingwei seed a bit slow-witted, he was actually very astute about everything.

“I was planning to get married after winning the championship…”

“And then?” Zhao Mingwei also rembered that just four months ago, when Nuclear Leap won the championship of the dispute finals, Mo Shigui ntioned before winning the championship that he would go ho to get married if they won.

But now, the entire Nuclear Leap team was eagerly anticipating wedding candies that were nowhere to be seen.

“Her parents want to go to Paris, and even chose Paris as the wedding location. My parents disagreed, and then there was a long dispute,” Mo Shigui said.

“I rember now, your girlfriend’s parents emigrated to Europe early on, so your girlfriend is now…”

“In Europe. We haven’t seen each other for a long ti, the most we do is video chat,” Mo Shigui said.

“Sounds complicated. Didn’t she play in the disputes too? If she couldn’t snatch a spot in Spirit, couldn’t you at least et in the world of disputes? That’s sowhat better than video chatting, right?”

Zhao Mingwei had never really been in a relationship as he grew up, his life being too full for that, with the maxim that a professional player doesn’t need a woman completely lived out in his life.

But this didn’t an that Zhao Mingwei didn’t have suitors while playing disputes; in fact, online romances in VR gas were very popular because VR could offer a more realistic experience of love than a mouse and keyboard could.

So players, after hitting it off in the VR ga, decided not to et in real life at all, to avoid destroying the good impressions they had of each other in-ga.

The Holy Spirits experience the sa situation; ever since the marriage system was introduced, there have already been a thousand or two couples among them.

So, if Mo Shigui is truly in a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend, wouldn’t eting up in the VR ga world be a good choice?

“Her health isn’t great; VR gaming is too taxing for her. She does log on to dispute in the world for a quick et up now and then, but…”

“It’s not real enough?” Zhao Mingwei imdiately pointed out the source of Mo Shigui’s perplexity. “Although I don’t quite understand, the gaming pod experience in Holy Spirits is said to be almost indistinguishable from the real world. Isn’t there a slogan on the forums that goes, ‘No matter which country, no matter the distance, you can et in Holy Spirits!'”

“…”

Mo Shigui didn’t further the topic, glancing at the palm of his hand. Of course, Mo Shigui had also experienced the realness brought about by the gaming pods.

But he was terrified. The re thought of his girlfriend having access to Holy Spirits began to swirl a peculiar sense of fear within Mo Shigui, and what unsettled him even more was that this morning, after using the gaming pod, the warm sensation of Fureya gripping his hands and the embrace seed to linger.

Mo Shigui could even still sll the faint fragrance of Fureya’s body and the warmth of her palms, as if… as if there really was an NPC gripping his hand right now.

“A living descendant of the Devouring God, an energy being, huh? The senses seem a bit dull, but inside, indeed, there’s a vast store of Devouring God’s power.”

An incredibly excited, almost exaggerated voice erupted before Mo Shigui. He suddenly pulled away from the pair of hands grasping his arm.

The other party also lost so balance due to Mo Shigui’s massive strength. Only then did Mo Shigui get a clear look at the person in front of him: a human with rabbit ears atop their head, standing about one ter seventy in height.

“This…this is really too abrupt, my apologies… Let introduce myself, I am the director of the Third Research Institute of Sustainable Sanctuary, Tatano.” A giant pair of glasses perched on her nose, the lenses mirrored Mo Shigui’s furrowed brow, and from the data flashing across the glasses, they seed to have analytic capabilities.

“But what’s keeping the power of the Devouring God inside you sealed away? Let’s see… This one’s the perfect creation!”

After seeing Zhao Mingwei, she leapt in front of him, unrestrainedly reaching out to pinch the solid muscles on Zhao Mingwei’s abdon.

Her hand moved from his taut abdon up to his chest before reaching up to squeeze Zhao Mingwei’s cheeks.

“A perfect creation, the wild power of the Devouring God is controlled just right by this body. Devouring God… Holy Spirit, are you interested in joining us? It’s okay if you don’t join; just sign a contract with and co sit in my research institute!”

Perhaps it was an illusion, but Zhao Mingwei felt that when this woman was pinching his cheek, her tone of voice was even laced with a hint of breathlessness.

What should he do? Punch her away?

Zhao Mingwei considered whether doing so would tarnish Holy Spirits’ reputation in the Order Sanctuary, but before she could overstep further, a silver holy sword had already sliced between her and Zhao Mingwei.

The researcher, quite agile, dodged the slash which was never ant to be lethal, and the Holy Light Goddess, with a flushed face, stepped in front of Zhao Mingwei.

“A pet from the Order Sanctuary? What do you want?” The researcher’s attitude toward the Holy Light Goddess grew much less pleasant.

“You… your behavior is just shaless!” The Holy Light Goddess couldn’t even begin to assess what this person had just been doing to Zhao Mingwei.

“Shaless? They’re incarnations of the Devouring God, energy constructs, without flesh and blood. It’s your mind that has gone to things about biological reproduction, right? Move aside! This Holy Spirit is one of the few who can maintain absolute stability of his internal energy. The value of this Holy Spirit is beyond the understanding of creatures of your imagined sort.” She seed to have a clear view of Zhao Mingwei’s nature.

“Of course, I understand! This Holy Spirit has already decided to enter into a Divine Contract with …”

“Divine Contract? A god actually choosing an incarnation of the Devouring God as their Divine Chosen? Trying to control an incarnation of the Devouring God? You clearly have no clue how dangerous their powers are for you. Besides, even a signed contract doesn’t make him your possession.”

As the researcher nad Tatano attempted to bypass the Holy Light Goddess to approach Zhao Mingwei, an extrely cold demonic sword suddenly fell at her feet, freezing her ankles.

“My captain is not an object for you to touch as you please.”

Qi Junzi suddenly returned to the safety zone of the Abyss Tower for so unknown reason; her voice sounded terrifyingly ominous. The mont Qi Junzi arrived beside Zhao Mingwei with her greatsword in hand, she declared her entry into the fray!

Mo Shigui watched the scene, his brows nearly twisting into knots, but then he suddenly heard soone crunching popcorn nearby.

Indeed, soone was eating popcorn. Jiang Qiao sat beside him with a bucket of popcorn, stuffing it into his mouth. Noticing Mo Shigui’s gaze, Jiang Qiao offered the popcorn in his hand as if asking Mo Shigui if he wanted so.

Mo Shigui shook his head and Jiang Qiao switched to a bucket of chips. Mo Shigui continued to shake his head, so Jiang Qiao simply shrugged his shoulders and went back to munching on his popcorn.

What a spectacle indeed!

Jiang Qiao originally ca here to test to what degree the players could control their skills after using the gaming pods. But the unfolding drama was spectacular in its own right. It was a sha Jiang Qiao didn’t have a little stool in his backpack, or he could have sat and watched the whole thing comfortably.
