A feminine voice echoed in his head.

"Sana! I was wondering when you’d finally react!" she exclaid.

"I don’t have much ti. For the sake of our good understanding and excellent collaboration, I must enlighten you about my situation... No, rather our situation, since I’m now bound to you," she explained in a hurried tone.

"Now that you ntion it, during the soul oath, you said sothing about uniting our destinies and linking our souls until the end of the cycles. Don’t tell you plan to squat inside my head until I die, huh?" Deon replied, frowning.

Deon had already started on his way ho. Along the road, he avoided speaking out loud, afraid people would think he’d gone mad.

"Haha! Who do you take for? I have no intention of being trapped in another prison after leaving one. I wouldn’t have proposed you host otherwise. When I said ’unite our destinies,’ it was to make sure you understood that I could never harm you. And as for the part about linked souls... well, it ans exactly what it sounds like," she said with a smile.

"Hmm... aren’t you taking advantage of my naivety?" he asked suspiciously.

"You? Naive? The world must be upside down. Let’s talk about serious matters; I don’t have much ti left."

"Not much ti left?" Deon repeated, surprised.

"Yes. I gave you all the rest of my mystic energy, so my soul is fragile. To strengthen it, I need to draw from your mystic energy. To do that, I’ll teach you how to cultivate, so you can increase your own energy."

"I see. And if you manage to strengthen it, what’s next? How do you plan to get your body back? Don’t tell you’re planning to steal soone else’s body, right?" Deon asked, worried.

"Don’t worry about that. Enough chatting. Didn’t you want to tell you what I know about the portals and my story? If you’re not interested anymore, just say so," she said, impatient.

"I am. Start by finishing your story. Who was that voice that spoke when we were in the portal?" he asked, fully attentive.

"Ah, him? That was the Celestial Demon," she began.

"In the world of martial arts, there are several factions. He is the leader of the demonic sect—the Divine Demon. Known to be stronger than the leaders of the orthodox factions, he was infamous for his arrogance and his intoxication with power.

After hearing of his feats, I challenged him... and he ended up losing. After his defeat, he disappeared to train, seeking to grow stronger and take revenge. Years later, he returned to challenge again to restore his pride, but the result was the sa. I defeated him once more. Frustration, hatred, and inferiority eventually consud him," she continued, her voice tinged with bitterness.

"Just to gain more power, he began sacrificing people and practicing forbidden arts. He rebuilt the foundations of his sect, and soon, those who once confined themselves to the Jianghu crossed the line. They began attacking non-cultivators as well.

His cruelty grew, and his cult beca a threat to the world. The other factions, unable to tolerate his atrocities any longer, united to eradicate the demonic cult," she explained, anger seeping into her voice.

"They wiped out many, but not all. After that period, nothing was heard of them... until the appearance of the dungeons.

When the dungeons, mana, and monsters appeared, the demonic cult resurfaced, led once again by the Divine Demon himself.

While everyone was uniting their strength to clear the dungeons and protect the celestial realm, they chose instead to worship the monsters. New terrorist acts occurred, causing countless deaths."

"Then, the Celestial Demon and I fought once more. This ti, he defeated . My strength wasn’t enough to stop him. After beating , he sealed inside this mausoleum to guard it. I was ant to kill anyone who entered.

The details are unclear, but they were behind the fall and destruction of the celestial realm. Only later did I realize that the entity they worshiped had granted them imnse power in exchange for the purification of the celestial realm. Without that power, I might have defeated him," she explained, her voice heavy with regret.

"Seeing how things are here reminds of my own world. I bet the appearance of the portals is linked to the Celestial Demon and the being he worships. And if they’re already here, it ans he has an emissary sowhere, nurturing the will to destroy this world," she concluded.

Deon now sowhat understood the situation. To him, the appearance of the portals might be a sign of an upcoming world destruction.

"What kind of world have I landed in, damn it? So... if he marked ..." Deon murmured, his throat tightening.

"Yes. If he marked you, it ans you’re a target to eliminate. After all, you now know the truth," she said coldly.

Deon shuddered at those words.

"Don’t worry. You just need to beco stronger," she reassured him in a soothing tone.

"Stronger, huh? If I were them, I’d do everything to kill the threat before it grows," Deon replied, fear mixing with anger.

Sana, knowing he was right, fell silent for a mont before answering. "..."

"And in the celestial realm you ca from... after the appearance of dungeons and mana, did you have stat windows?" Deon asked, curious.

"Stat windows? What’s that? No, we never had those. Every awakened person just had to find the best way to use their power. That was all," she answered, surprised.

"And what was your magic?" Deon insisted.

"Isn’t it obvious? Illusions. I could manipulate illusion magic. And, without bragging, illusion magic combined with mystic arts was simply terrifying," she said proudly.

"You rember when you offered to teach , right? Hmm... I think I’m tempted now," Deon said with a faint smile.

"Pff, little brat. You’re finally realizing my greatness, huh? Keep dreaming," she sneered playfully.

"Hey Sana, consider your lessons as rent paynt for squatting in my consciousness. By the way... can you, by any chance, hear my thoughts or see my mories?" he asked seriously.

That detail had escaped Deon. Technically, since she was within his ntal realm, Sana had access to his consciousness. By extension, she could see his mories of his previous life. The thought worried him.

"Yes, I can see your mories and hear your thoughts if I want to. Ahaha, are you nervous?" she teased.

"Pff, nervous about what?" Deon replied, pretending to be indifferent.

"Relax, our destinies are linked, rember? You have nothing to worry about," she assured him.

Upon hearing her words, Deon realized she had probably already peeked into his mories. Had she seen those from his previous life? He didn’t know and didn’t want to ask. "..."

"Deon, I think this is my limit. I don’t have enough energy left to talk. I’m counting on you to cultivate and increase your mystic energy," she said weakly.

"Cultivate? But how am I supposed to do that?" Deon asked, worried.

As he wondered, a wave of information and mories that weren’t his flooded his mind.

A second ago, he had no idea how to cultivate... and now he did, he thought, astonished.

"Sana, if you could do that, why didn’t you just share your mories with from the start instead of explaining everything?" Deon asked, surprised.

"..."

Deon received no answer. "Maybe her soul is too fragile?" he thought.

Without realizing it, Deon had already arrived ho.

"You’re coming ho only now?" said a calm yet firm voice from the room as he stepped inside.

Deon flinched and turned around to see his father. As always, he hadn’t sensed his presence, even though he was standing just a few ters behind him.
