The number of noble apprentices present was nearly double that of the civilian apprentices. Thus, the noble apprentices were lined up in two groups, while the civilian apprentices were all gathered into one singular group. This was mainly because the noble apprentices did not wish to be grouped together with the civilian apprentices, and vice versa.
Theon observed his surroundings, as he took his place in the middle of the line behind Klein and Jasmine. At the sa ti, he also observed the elental talent detection.
The apprentices at the front of the line put their hands on the crystals. Then, the crystals lit up according to their talents. The light rays contained various colors, as if the elents in the heavens and earth had been enlarged.
"Sebest, talent value 40..."
"Daniel, talent worth 12..."
"Aamir talent value 8..."
Theon had so doubts about the reported talent values...
"How is the elental talent value determined exactly?" Theon asked Gordon.
Gordon had beco accustod to Theon’s ignorance regarding the Geneticist certification examination. In fact, many of the apprentices, who had never taken the certification examination before, did not understand much either.
"Our daily refining of serum is actually very dependent on how we sense the changes in the elents of the serum. The more accurate we sense the changes, the greater the success rate. Therefore, one’s affinity for the elents is very important," Gordon explained patiently to Theon.
Theon finally understood that refining serum was not as simple as he had imagined. It was also the first ti that he had heard about the elental affinity theory.
How is the elental affinity considered to be good?" Theon asked.
"The higher the elental affinity, the higher the value of the elental talent detected. For example, a normal person’s elental affinity is only within the range of 1 to 50, and those with more than 30 are eligible to beco Geneticists." Gordon said.
He then whispered, as if he were sharing a great secret, "Soone with an elental affinity between 30 and 50 would be detected with a greater value of elental talent. As such, the chances of becoming a Geneticist would naturally be higher for soone with a value above 50. So, in general, the higher the elental affinity, the higher the elental talent."
He then added one last piece of crucial information. "As to whether there is a limit on elental affinity, no one really knows. In the past, there were geniuses, who were said to have values of more than 100, 200, or even 300!"
When Gordon talked about these geniuses, he could not help feel both envy and admiration for them.
"Does the elental affinity remain unchanged? Does a lower value in elental affinity translate to a higher failure rate?" Theon asked.
"The value for elental affinity does not remain unchanged. You can improve the affinity through the serum, training, or practicing the refinent of serum," said Gordon.
He was a bit surprised by the questions, as he had not expected Theon to be so ignorant. In fact, at that mont, he had so doubts in his heart as to whether Theon was indeed an apprentice.
He then continued to explain. "In fact, an elental affinity can’t fully represent the success rate, as anything can be done well with constant practice. However, those with a lower value in elental talent would need to put in more hard work than those with a higher value."
He concluded, sharing that, "The elental talent value determines the maximum limit of one person. A grand master Geneticist once said that ’a genius is made up of one percent of talent, plus ninety-nine percent of sweat. But that one percent of talent is even more important than ninety-nine percent of sweat.’"
When he heard the famous saying, Theon suddenly had a feeling of déjà vu.
"I have never checked my elental talent value." Theon wondered.
At this point, the elental talent detection was still in progress, with the majority of the apprentices being detected with values below 50.
Comparing the two camps, the civilian camp had an average value that was ten points higher than that of the noble camp. This showed the gap between the two camps. However, the noble camp definitely did not lack of geniuses with impressively high elental talent values.

Right then, Osborn went up to the crystal and put his hands on it.

The crystal suddenly lit up and nurous elental lights flashed inside it.
"It’s such a bright light! It must’ve exceeded 100 points." Travis sighed.
Everyone else also marveled at the scene, as Osborn’s talent was really strong! At this point, the number on the analyzer kept rising, exceeding 50 points instantly, then soaring to 80 points, followed by 100 points! Finally, it stopped at 121.
These results were followed by cries of surprise.
"He actually got 121 points of talent value!"
"Galaxy City hasn’t had anyone with more than 100 talent value points in decades!"
"It’s very difficult to increase the talent value after hitting 100 points!"
