The stone creaked above Lloyd, warning what was going to happen in a few instants.
The boy turned his head upward, observing how the rocks began to fall on him.
"Just what I needed," Lloyd complained, the situation had suddenly beco difficult.
It wasn’t so fun anymore.
Quickly, the boy summoned several ice columns from the ground to grow at full speed against the stones, seeking to hold them and prevent them from falling on him.
However, the shaman wasn’t going to make it so easy for him, he quickly summoned multiple fireballs which hit the ice columns evaporating them in an instant.
"Shit! Stay still!" Lloyd ordered the shaman, but he barely had ti left to react, and had to use a desperate move.
His armor detached from his body, as if it had been expelled, while taking the form of Siegfried again, who with a powerful cut, destroyed the rocks that were about to crush him.
Though more than a cut it seed like a brute blow, because the stones broke and went flying in multiple directions.
But that seed to be the shaman’s plan, who took advantage that Lloyd no longer had armor, to attack him directly.
His multiple mouths perford a spell in a re instant.
The voices united forming a whirlwind of cutting air around Lloyd, who felt how the air around him began to cut.
Noticing that, Lloyd quickly used his spiritual arts to generate an air current equal but opposite to the one the shaman had created, while reinforcing his skin replicating the process he used in the temple trial.
He expelled energy from his pores, as if it were an artificial touki, just in ti because while he was freeing himself from the tornado, having received so cuts in the process, his enemy had already created another fireball, which traveled at great speed against him.
Siegfried couldn’t protect him at that mont, because he was breaking the falling stones, so Lloyd was hit full on by that fireball.
The boy went flying backward hit by the fla explosion, thanks to the artificial touki, the boy didn’t receive burn damage.
But he was sent flying backward.
"Tch, I think it’s ti to finish this," Lloyd then comnted while getting up.
The stones had stopped falling and the shaman was running at full speed toward him.
However, this ti Lloyd didn’t hold back.
In an instant Gleipnir’s chains were released, trapping the shadow shaman in an instant, preventing him from moving.
"It’s over! Sieg!" Lloyd exclaid with energy.
The warrior obeyed the order instantly, he didn’t need Lloyd to give him more instructions to act.
However the shaman did act, his multiple mouths conjured multiple roots that ca out of the ground breaking the rock and trapping Siegfried’s sword just when he held it near the ground, preventing him from attacking.
Though Lloyd also didn’t let the shaman get away with it.
His ice magic spread across the ground freezing the roots in a few instants thus allowing them to break more easily.
But also the frost spread across the goblin’s skin, preventing him from freeing himself from the chains.
"Checkmate," the boy then announced, while Siegfried’s greatsword split the shadow goblin in two.
The shaman vanished, becoming shadows instantly.
Lloyd let out a relieved sigh.
"Phew, this one was quite more difficult," the boy comnted while breathing deeply.
The first goblins Lloyd had faced had been too weak.
The second ones had been more powerful but also hadn’t given the fight he expected.
However the shadow goblin shaman’s power had multiplied compared to the power of his previous opponents.
Not only was he slippery, but he had very versatile elental magic.
But even so, it didn’t turn out to be such a big problem for Lloyd, who by that point already had several techniques and spells mastered.
"Mmm, well, so this still isn’t over?" the boy then asked himself, seeing the mission hadn’t been completed.
Apparently, there were still phases in that trial.
Lloyd deduced the number of enemies was reduced by half, but the enemy’s power was strengthened imnsely.
At that mont Lloyd felt slight fear toward the next enemy.
If the difference between the first enemy and the second was so great, how strong would the last one be?
This ti, Lloyd didn’t want to dare find out.
"Lævateinn," the boy then said, while extending his hand.
Gleipnir’s chains began to coil around each other, adopting the shape of a spear.
At the tip, a fla ignited.
It was primordial fire.
Lloyd was going to use that technique, which he had baptized as [Lævateinn].
While the shadows joined together again, in a shapeless mass of darkness, Lloyd gripped the spear tightly, and stretched his arm backward, charging his attack.
"Take this!" the boy then roared, while throwing Lævateinn with force toward the mass of shadows.
It had barely taken form, but Lloyd wasn’t going to let it finish transforming.
This wasn’t an ani to obey stupid rules like waiting for the rival’s transformation.
Without rcy, the boy attacked, and Lævateinn stuck right into the mass of darkness.
As soon as it did, the darkness began to burn, as if it were almost fuel.
That was the power of primordial fla, it was capable of burning anything, even the shadows themselves.
The flas spread rapidly, until the shadows disappeared, and Lævateinn’s fla went out, sealed by Gleipnir’s properties.
The boy felt a wave of tiredness invade him as soon as he let the fla go out, but it had been worth it.
The mission had been completed.
[Secret Mission: defeat the portal’s guardians — Completed]
{Rewards: 2,500 V.P you have received an ancient vestige.}
The boy smiled.
That day had been very productive.
Not only had he earned 5,000 V.P, but he had also received information about sothing he hadn’t read in the book.
Sothing that awakened his interest.
Though for now, he had other priorities.
"Well, I think it’s ti to return to the village, it’s very late, and they’re surely going to be worried about ," Lloyd said, ending his little excursion.
