Chapter 87: A Monster?

THUD

Her knees collapsed to the ground, and her body followed after.

VROOOOM!

VROOOOM!

VROOOOM!

VROOOOM!

Four times, the air was pierced through, and White easily took a step forward, an arrow weaving behind him, then jumped into the air, another arrow weaving by his leg, spinning in the air as two arrows narrowly missed his waist before he landed back on the ground.

His somersault didn’t just make him dodge the arrows; it placed him behind her corpse, and his hands reached out, pulling the spear out of the ground.

VROOOOM!

VROOOOM!

VROOOOM!

VROOOOM!

What followed next was an outpour of arrows, but each was easily sliced in two as White flashed forward step by step, spinning the spear in his hands as he did.

"Activate Predator Mark."

He ordered, appearing before Cara, whose teeth clenched hard as he swung her bow toward his head.

RIIIIIIP!

The air was sliced apart as White cleaved the spear forward.

It slammed into the bow, and the metallic weapon was thrown high into the air, blood splashing out from her palms from the force.

"Please... stop."

She screamed in fear, stepping backwards.

Her leg tripped on an uneven surface as she fell onto her butt.

"I’ll give you my points. You can take everything, with just a touch to the neck."

PUCCHI!

Her words were cut off when the spear dug into her mouth, piercing out from behind her.

Using it to raise her into the sky, White threw her body upward, and a spear light flashed through the world,

Cara landed back on the ground, but then her head bounced into the air, bouncing a couple of times before falling off the top of the mountain.

Dragging the spear behind him, he walked towards Falcone, and the spear cleaved forward once, fully severing her head.

[She’s already dead. Why bother severing the head?]

The system panel flashed in confusion.

"I said I would take their heads off their neck. Breaking my words is a betrayal of myself... I never betray myself."

With all of them dead, he watched what remained of their necks glowing with light.

Reaching down, White’s hands moved forward, his finger gently resting on that glowing runic line.

Seven seconds of silence, and then the blue panel flashed before him.

{You Have Gained

340 Bloodpoints.}

Standing up, he did the same for the rest of the bodies, earning a total of 720 Bloodpoints.

But there was a problem.

The notification flashed from the blue panel.

[You Have Taken a Total of Three Fellow Students’ Souls.]

[-300 Points!]

[Remaining Points: 445]

’So, a student’s life costs just 100 points around here, huh?’

White mused before shrugging it off, resuming his walk on the mountainous path, but he didn’t walk far before pausing, feeling a presence behind him.

He turned his head, and there, standing on a higher mountainous rock about 50 meters away, was a lanky lady who had a bandage wrapped across the side of her head, including her left eye.

They stared at each other, and her lips moved first.

’Monster.’

She said, to which White smiled, his lips also moving wordlessly, and he resumed walking.

She watched him until his silhouette fully disappeared, and after he was gone, whispered the words he said.

"Code."

_____________

With his points having grown from 25 to 440, White felt he could take a breath.

Furthermore, he had achieved what he came here to do, which was to try out his new skill, Predatory Mark.

Now he knew full well what it did.

Locking onto someone would make them feel fear, and that fear... to White, it was like him shifting from his regular body to the Limitless body.

The instant bolstering of his strength to twice what it normally would be.

That was exactly what happened when he marked someone, and they feared him.

But that wasn’t all.

In his eyes, whoever he marked appeared slower.

Their movements became so easy to read, as if they were stuck in a slower motion of reality than his.

His perception of even their breath and blood flow became incredibly clear, as if he was looking at them through a microscope.

Excited as White was by that skill, it also gave him a feeling of apprehension.

"So this is what happens when Alpha-grade level of Supernatural sees a human?"

"What it feels like to be the prey."

"Even your natural reaction of fear further empowers their ability to murder you."

He mused, his eyes turning colder.

’All the more reason to wipe them all out.’

Shaking his head to disperse the thoughts, he settled back into his usual self, turning to the blue panel.

There, he went to the Bloodpoints Use App.

In here, he could make use of his newly acquired Bloodpoints.

One thing White needed was a new place, one with better runes for cultivation.

Just like back in Xtremecyber, where there was a mana generator right above the dorm building, and the closer one was to the top, the better the amount of energy they could absorb.

Aether Beyonder also operated under that same rule.

Except that instead of a mana generator, there were runes instead.

The place where the students lived was a large mountain, and on that mountain, runes were scribbled all over.

These runes weren’t just etched for decoration; they had an effect, which was to absorb energy.

Both Geic energy and Otherworld energy.

The amount of energy that stayed in a room depended on the grade of the runes carved upon the area.

The place White had been assigned had been carved with lower-grade runes that barely absorbed any energy whatsoever.

If he wanted to improve his cultivation, he needed to find a room in the mountain where the runes were of a higher grade and absorbed more energy.

That was why he needed a new place.

Here, in the Bloodpoints Use App, he was able to quickly find what he wanted, but with another headache-inducing problem.
