Chapter 157: The Story Of Yin And The Fox Guardian {5}

"I’m worried about you master, you see sothing or soone that I do not, or maybe you do not see anything"

"Ava is real" William mumbled, she is real to him and that was all that mattered. For 2 years now he has been able to rember her, without her ntioning that na he would still know he has a friend called Ava, he thinks of her each and every single girl, not a day goes by without having her cloud his mind.

She taught him so many things over the years, she taught him how to have compassion, how to feel, and how to understand sentints, even though it was a difficult journey she still showed him a light he never thought he could have.

Aveline told him she was finally getting control of her powers and the reason why he could rember her even though she leaves and she was happy when she told him. But that was the least of the situation because William just realized Aveline was never real, she wasn’t actually there beside him or with him the entire ti, it was just a manifestation of her soul.

Even though he could feel her presence and even made contact with her, it was until one day, just when she was whistling to the birds in the trees and he gradually approached her from behind, he noticed it, when the sun hit the highest peak and reflected on her, she was invisible for a second.

She could be a ghost, a ghost of a magical creature still attached to the world but he didn’t care, as long as he got to see Aveline and see her smile, she was always happy with him. She’s at her fullest energy all the ti and asks many questions, giggles all the ti, and runs around.

What narrowed down his suspension more was right now... her power wasn’t just having an effect on him but on Elvenia too, but she couldn’t see Aveline. She thought he speaks with a nonexistent being, maybe she thinks he was losing his mind. But William wasn’t... it was just because he was the only one who could see her and feel her.

William rounded up his work and rose to his feet ignoring Elvenia’s further words

Elvenia watched her master walk out of the library, she sighed closing her eyes. At least she tried, there was nothing more she could say, his response was just exactly as she thought.

This girl called Ava whom only he could see was a mystery.

Basker even questioned William’s sanity once, but William was still persistent that he wasn’t making it up in his head.

☆☆☆

William walked through the forest and into the opening view, of a hill and grasses everywhere, the wind was strong in this area, and the fresh breeze got to his nose, and it was a reminder of many mories, this was their spot. Where he paints mostly and where she watches, where they played and laughed.

He spots Aveline twirling at the flow of the wind with a smile on her lips, he could tell she was waiting for him and he wasted no ti to approach her. Even as he got closer and the light reflected more the truth showed and he knew it was about ti he said sothing about it. He barely knows about her aside from her na and that she cos from sowhere that was different from the woods.

But yet she knows everything about him, knows that he was Basker’s successor, and the guardian of the Holy Library, she even visited the place once and they spent all day reading together. That was also what made Basker question his sanity, even as powerful as Basker he could not see her

Basker believed William as ti passed and he explained that the reason he was the only one able to see Aveline was because they might have ford so kind of connection, or maybe he was ant to see her only, for his eyes only.

Her giggles got louder when he closed in on her and she stopped the mont she saw him.

"William," she said breathlessly. Over the past 5 years, William was no longer the cute boy she knew, he looked more mature and definitely more serious, he hardly smiles but he does that a lot when she is here, it was like she brings out a part of him that no one else could see except her. His silver hair was now shoulder length and even more beautiful, there were a lot of changes, and he was even taller too. She even had to tilt her head back just to et his gaze.

"Ava"

His voice has gotten deeper and manly too, she always blushed when she heard his voice, it was like a vibration to her body. Especially when he calls her that na, a na only he calls her and she loves it. Over the years it has gotten a little awkward with William or maybe because she couldn’t help feeling hot or flushed all the ti with him.

She noticed her heart would skip a beat from each smile and breathy laugh from him, and even when he looked at her, she felt like the only one in his world.

Their friendship was truly remarkable and Aveline loved it from the deepest part of her heart. She cherished him more than anything, she thought Aldon will be the only important man in her life but William is too... She holds a special place in her heart for him.

As William gazed upon Aveline it was like she was even more beautiful today. Her amber hair was now knee length, long, and fell in waves behind her back, and she looked more feminine than how cute and small when she was little, well she is still cute and small before his eyes.

She was purely the definition of beauty and although he loved the view in this forest a lot, Aveline seems to rival all that is called beauty, she was the very definition of the word, and the word ca to be because of her.

Even when he cos across the word in books his mind always glimpses a beauty with amber hair and vermilion eyes that get his soul captured all the ti.

"You ca early," he said, clearing his throat, looking to the side like he hadn’t been gawking at her like a lost puppy.

"Well..." she trailed, as she began trekking and William followed. "I just needed an escape from ho, here brings

peace, especially with you" she adds with a smile.

And William gave her a small smile too... but it suddenly fades.

"Ava" he began but she was already walking ahead while humming. He took a step forward and grabbed her hand... sothing he hasn’t done before.

Like she was burned she quickly snapped her hand away from his hold and turned to him with wide eyes.

"I’m sorry," he said softly. "I know you don’t like it when I touch you"

"I-It okay" she mumbled. "It feels wrong... that’s why" she added with a frown.

"Why does it feel wrong?" This was completely the opposite of what he should be discussing with her but he needed to know more, know more than just her na.

"B-Because..." she began with a stutter but nothing ca off.

And William saw it there... she doesn’t want to tell him, was she afraid of sothing?

"I’m your friend, am I not?"

"Of course you are!" she said quickly.

"Then open up to

Ava, you know everything about , but I don’t know about you"

Sothing flashed in her eyes. "William," she began. "I’m getting betrothed to my soulmate soon"

A wave of sothing washed upon William, he didn’t know how exactly he should act at that mont, for the feeling caught him up so soon, he just stood there, like a statue and with his heart barely beating.

Soulmate?

Betrothed?

"I needed you to know... that is why I needed the escape, I heard the news just recently" she mumbled and shifted her gaze back to William, he looked paler than usual. "William?"

He blinked looking to the side but said nothing. But then he shifted his eyes back to her, and his expression was just blank.

"Congratulation, Aveline"

"You never call

Aveline"

"But it is your na. isn’t it?"

"Are you angry with ?" She took a step closer.

"What’s the point of being angry with soone that doesn’t even exist in my world?"

She froze at his words.

"W-What are you saying?"

He ran his hand through his hair, seeming frustrated. "For years I found out... even if you’re here, right now... it’s not real, you’re not real"

"Will-"

"You won’t even tell

what you are and yet you tell

you have a soulmate?" saying the word made his chest burn and an indescribable feeling of pain and anger collided within him, the air getting chilly.

Tears stread down Ava’s eyes. And seeing the tears it was like he was snapped out of the trance he lay drowning in pain and truth.

Regret flushed over him.

"A-Ava" he began. "I didn’t an to..." he tried to reach for her but she took a step back shaking her head.

"No, you an it," she says. "I was never real to you was I? Maybe this isn’t real too"

"Ava" he tried to reach for her again but the mont he tried to grab her arm it passed right through. "Ava" he adds with wide eyes.

With unstable breaths, she looked down at her body slowly vanishing and she panicked looking up at William.

"Will-"

She couldn’t even finish because she was ripped out of his reality.
