Chapter 128: The Heart Of The Library
The Heart of the Library
William called this door that... I turned to him but his attention was fixated on the door and then he closed his eyes. I opened my mouth to speak but the sudden sound of a heartbeat caught
off guard.
Yes, a heartbeat louder than anything I have ever heard echoed around, and then it struck
because of its slow beat. There was only one person with such a slow heartbeat.
It was William’s
☆lub-dub☆
The dark giant door senses the beating heartbeat of William as its arbiter and master of this place, unlocked, the re sound echoing in the entire area.
The large design just at the center of it, like a keyhole, moved, the spirals and circles shifting and giving way, responding solely to the sound, and then a dividing ca and the doors spread open with a loud sound.
The key was not a key... but the key was William’s heartbeat. I gulped at the realization. William is the heart of this place and responds only to him.
We both walked through it and I gasped, it felt like we had walked into a whole new library, like another version of it for everything was ice and I an everything, the shelves, books enclosed in ice to their sizes, every bit of detail was made of it.
"This is the northern wing where forbidden knowledge is stored, a place where chaotic details cannot fall in the hands of anyone, it is the very core of the library, what it was really made for"
"It’s the library itself"
"Yes... Many millennia ago, a spirit born in this dinsion was given the task to protect such knowledge in order to avoid the destruction of the world. So with guidance that spirit built this place... keeping a asure of cruelty and harm away from the world... enclosing it to books and hence it began what you see here, forbidden knowledge. Cruelty isn’t just cruelty it is knowledge in even the finest way, it can be made into anything be divided into any aning. Curses, darkness, dark arts, dark magic"
I couldn’t stop my eyes from roaming around as William explained, this just simply caught all my attention, I felt like I couldn’t look enough. We continued walking until we got to a table and by the looks of it... it looks like it belonged to William. He works here too? Is that why sotis when I don’t see him at the other library he cos here?
The books scattered on the table levitated and opened before us.
"Your mark" he pointed.
It really was my birthmark, down to every detail. The book floated to
and I took it with both hands.
"I was curious as to why you bear such a mark entirely different from that of a Fairy so I searched for answers... it is not certain yet because of the fairy qualities you have"
"I might not be a Fairy?" I said reading through everything.
"Yes"
"You are not the one I have searched for all my life"
I darted my gaze to him. "But it does not matter, it never matters... because I found YOU"
’I do not care what you are’ I rembered his words visibly well when he proposed to . I gulped, turning my attention back to the book as I flipped to the next page.
"Elf"
"The creature you saw that night"
I gasped. "He was an elf?"
"Yes"
"B-But it said here that they don’t exist"
"I am just as stumped as you are... Basker knew of them but never told
if they exist or not, he simply never ntioned them and told
I shouldn’t ddle"
"I-Its says here I might have Elven blood" I gripped the book tightly.
"The answers here are not accurate, hence why I told you I can’t give you an incomplete finding, it will only confuse you more"
"It’s fine," I mumbled. "It’s better than being in the dark... This might be the answer to what I truly am... thank you for telling , William"
He blinked but said nothing before reaching for an orb on the table on an ice stance, it floated off his hand and glowed.
"This orb records everything in this place... I think in the future it would be called sothing known as a ’Surveillance cara’ but in another form..."
I mumbled the foreign words he said, wondering how he pronounced such, or was it so sort of ancient language?
"This is the last retort I spoke of... this has the record of everything in both libraries, everything here... maybe sothing will be seen"
"But you’re not sure," I said without a doubt.
"If sothing as powerful is keeping
from rembering with no solution here, I’m not sure this orb will be of any help"
Suddenly several images started playing through, I couldn’t catch all with my eyes but I could clearly observe it was an ongoing day-to-day activity in the library, dating even far back. And then I caught a glimpse of a little boy with short silver hair and it cause
to reach for the orb and grab it with both hands.
The little boy here was William.
"How old were you here?"
"Three"
Three years old and yet he was writing like a boy of eight, so intelligent at such a young age. And then the image showed another tiline of when he hung a painting on the wall.
"Those paintings" I blinked puzzled, mostly the painting that filled the entire castle. "They are..." I turned to William and he answered with a simple word.
"Mine"
I couldn’t help a smile that found my lips. "I didn’t know you paint"
He mirrored my expression, "And now you do"
The images went on and there was nothing as William explained, about Basker saying those words or even a scene he doesn’t rember.
Everything here was what William knows
There were no answers to his mories being taken. Instead, I got a whole glimpse of William’s entire life here in this orb.
