I thought my mother has taught duties before love but this was the opposite, she wanted to be different from her and find happiness, the only problem was she didn’t accept Nicklaus, and she didn’t co to terms with it, what I knew about her wasn’t what I was seeing right now.
And then realization struck ... I was seeing the real truth from 2 thousand years ago. My hands subconsciously tightened on my dress, and then I gulped hard.
The Waterfall of Truth wasn’t just showing my mories but the TRUTH itself. My golden orbs traveled back to the scene, my past self crying her heart out, I really loved my mother, more than anything, and it must have pained that she wasn’t happy for my happiness and wasn’t gonna accept it because Nicklaus was a Vampire.
The scene crumbled into dust and then changed to another scene, my past self was seated all alone watching the view, her knees to her chest.
Yelena’s sad eyes were set on the view, her grip tightened on her knees, and her sad eyes fell on the skies. ’Mother’ she thought if only she would have given her blessing.
"Mother"
"There you’re... been looking for you"
She turned to the voice seeing Alaric walking up behind her. "Alaric?" she blinks puzzled. "I thought I told you to leave", she watched as Alaric took a seat beside her.
"You know I can’t" he states in a firm tone leaving no room for the question before facing her. "I take it your eting didn’t go well with your mother"
She sighed deeply. "It’s official, dearest mother won’t give her blessings," she began, the re thought of it weighing on her like a ton. "She can’t just accept the fact that Nicklaus is a vampire or more the very vampire god she distastes over centuries, it’s sad and painful. Why can’t she see that I’m happy with him? I love him Alaric so deeply in a way I can’t let go" she faces him with teary eyes.
"I understand," Alaric said with a nod of his head. "Not that I have ever been in love I haven’t... it’s always one woman’s skirt to another" he shrugged. "But... I believe when that love you speak of is found then it’s worth everything"
Yelena smiled at his heartfelt words.
"Your Mother may not agree in this union between the both of you right now but I believe she will one day, a mother cos around as the book says, I don’t know about that because I have never had a mother" he intoned.
"Right it is said Vampires are born from the Birth Tree and sharing a tree branch makes the eggs siblings"
"Yes... I have always wondered how goddesses from the sun Realm ca to be" Alaric asked in a mystery.
"Well that isn’t quite hard we’re forged through magic and the likeness in who wish us be"
"I see your mother must have wished you well even though she was scary"
"Stop it" she said giggling and playfully punching his arm.
"That’s it... the smile, that smile must remain until my brother gets here for he will cause a storm if you see you so much as cry," he said in amusent.
"Thank you Alaric, you’re really kind"
He shrugged. "What can I say? It’s in my nature, Lena... I’m just too kind. Purely the opposite of Nicklaus"
"Nicklaus’ the storm and you are the wind" she comnts in amusent.
He shrugged once again. "I suppose that’s how you put it and trust , Celeste is the rain, sotis calm but gods a bloody hurricane"
She burst out a pearl of laughter, Alaric smiled knowing he was at least easing the tension she felt when he t her here, at least that was his plan and it seems to be working.
"Nicklaus told about your father"
Her laughter ceased.
"Yes," She sighed. "His magic was depreciating as well as his life, I never knew him because I was yet to be made, My mother told he was the nicest person she has ever t, too bad I didn’t get to et him"
"Sorry for your loss"
"Please I don’t want to be consoled by two brothers already," she says hoping to lighten the mood.
"Right," Alaric said with a nod. Regretting he brought up her father, she looks down again and he hates to be the source of it.
"I see both parties are having fun" At the sudden voice Alaric turned, seeing Nicklaus leaning against a tree branch. Yelena turned and all sense of loneliness was washed off, as her gaze t him. He has only been gone for a few hours but he felt like an eternity to her.
"Ah, brother... there you are I guess it’s ti to take my leave" Alaric said rising to his feet.
"Wait, are you leaving?" Yelena asked, following behind him.
"Unfortunately yes, I’m a bit of an explorer and I don’t stay in one Realm for long"
"Oh" her tone was downhearted.
"I had such a wonderful ti exploring your forest, the creatures inhabiting here are lucky to have you"
A smile found Yelena’s lips.
"I guess it’s ti to take my leave, Empress," he says with a faint bow.
"You do not need to do that," She began.
"I look forward to you becoming Empress Yelena and being happy will you?" he said, placing a hand on her shoulder. And giving it a comforting squeeze.
"I will," she said with a smile.
Alaric turned to his brother, they shared a look with their eyes that made Yelena wonder, almost like they were speaking through it. Alaric walked past Nicklaus as he disappeared into the far distance.
Yelena’s sad eyes lingered there, she felt sad because he was leaving, but everyone was entitled to their freedom and ways in which they had to live their life, guess that was his, she does pray he finds soone worthy of him for she knew whoever becos his mate will be the luckiest woman ever, she prayed he found soone deserving.
"I see your eting with your mother didn’t go well" Nicklaus comnts, his intense gaze on her.
"How did you..." she paused and rembered the shared look he had with Alaric, seems like he relayed the news through their mind link.
Yelena made a hmm sound turning to leave, but a hand on her waist stopped her, Nicklaus was suddenly behind her.
"Was it that bad?" he whispered to her ears and Yelena sighed heavily. "Talk to love"
"I’m confused... I love my mother so much and it pains because she doesn’t wanna be part of my happiness" She said sadly.
"Things don’t always go our way, even if we’re divine beings"
"But that’s not fair" she twirled to him with teary eyes, the contents threatening to fall but she rembered Alaric’s sound and pushed it aside.
"It my fault isn’t it, the mother goddess doesn’t like the idea of her daughter getting mated to a vampire"
"Please let’s not talk about it" she in a faint whisper as her gaze leveled, her eyes shut close.
Nicklaus could feel her sadness and how downhearted she was, he placed his hand just beneath her chin and raised her gaze to et his, she opened her eye and t his green orbs, getting lost in them, staring against it was sort of smooching and relief washed upon her, she knew he wasn’t using magic but it seed almost magical for her.
For one to stare at the eyes of the very person you love and find comfort, it was enthralling and all her worries seed to wash away like the rain washing upon the leaves and giving them bright clear looks after the wash.
"I’m here for you okay?" he said in a faint tone that seed to wash away her worries even further. "You want your mother to approve this don’t you?"
"Nick-"
He brushed his nose against hers. "She will... if you let her believe what we share is true love... and like you said, you’re the only one who can make her understand"
"I do not want to delay in this Nicklaus, I want to be with you"
"And you will... you love your mother do you not? And you want her to share in your happiness"
She paused at his words, he wasn’t here when it happened but he seed to understand everything that had happened, a smile graced her lips. Nicklaus’ thumb trailed it in a swift action that made her body shiver, she nodded, an answer to the words he told her earlier.
A smile found his lips.
"I love you," she says.
"I love you... always and forever" he leaned in for a kiss, a swift gentle action that lted her heart and the wind whistled strongest that very mont, carrying the flower petals around them as they both kissed passionately and speaking all unsaid feelings with their hearts.
