Chapter 195: The Story Of Fire And Ice {16}
My eyes were wide in horror, watching my death unfold before my eyes wasn’t sothing that’d be pleasant, this was staggering and I forgot how to breathe, my body was still like a wall and my mind shut, what more was the person responsible for it, my insides chilled and my throat ran dry. I was shivering where I was, almost like I was in the sa state my past self was in, I could feel the pain in my chest and it was powerful. So much pain than I could handle, it was too much, this pain...
Yelena’s eyes were wide, they trembled, Nicklaus’ hand was piercing her chest covered in dark shadow, her heart, blood dripped from the corner of her lips, a crushed heart was what could kill a god and goddess with the use of magic.
"Your death was inevitable" Nicklaus whispered to her ear, his tone was cold, her mind blank trying to register what was going on, all she knew right now was pain that shocked her insides.
"You’re not my Nicklaus" She whispered back to him. He chuckled deeply. The sound was haunting.
"You can tell? I guess both of you are true mates"
Who was it? Who disguised as Nicklaus to take my life and why? I knew for a fact it was none other than that shadow, who was that shadow?
Nicklaus’ green eyes changed to red.
"W-W-W-Why ?" she asked, she knew she was dying but she must find out. He pulled so strand of her silver hair behind her ear and her weak gaze fell on his red orbs.
"Sweet child" he mused. "Your death is the beginning of my glory"
Yelena was about to speak but his grip tightened against her heart, her lips went apart, her dress stained with her blood. He retreated his hand from her chest, blood spilled continuously.
I watch with wide eyes... The false Nicklaus dissolved in a dark shadow, vanishing in thin air.
Approaching footsteps could be heard and I whirled finding the real Nicklaus coming to the scene, all this.... everything, this was planned!
Yelena’s eyes were leveled on her chest where blood continued to spill before leisurely raising to find Nicklaus.
"N-Nicklaus"
"YELENA!"
Her body gave out, losing the force of gravity as she slowly fell to the ground but in less than a blink of an eye, he caught her before she did. His breath was raspy as he felt her blood, panic in his eyes fixed on his blood-stained hand, they shocked relentlessly. He refused to believe this was real, he refused to believe this was happening.
"N-Nicklaus"
He faced her with bloodshot eyes, she was weak and couldn’t form words anymore.
"No," he drawled. "No... No" he shakes his head, despair filling his insides and before he knew it, hot tears were sliding now on his cheeks.
She was trying to speak but she couldn’t. Nicklaus felt his heart breaking apart every second he felt her pain. He drew on his breath before bringing his wrist to his lips and biting down on it and drawing his black blood before bringing it to her lips.
"T-Take my blood, my love, you will be fine," he says in desperate need to heal her wounds, but seeing action from her, his body tensed.
"Y-Y-Yelena?" he stamred, seeing her lifeless features, she was gone, her eyes closed and her skin beyond pale.
His lips quivered as he brought his bloody hand to careless her cold cheeks, she was no longer filled with warmth, she was cold and empty, his brain shut, all he could see was her dead face, all he could see was darkness and all he could feel was pain, his cold tears like ice fell on her skin, he buried his face in her neck and cried his heart out. Holding her still form against his own, he broke every minute, every second, his light, his soul... was gone.
It mysteriously started snowing for the first ti in the Spirit Forest, his emotions were in chaos. If nothing can be done, all life forms in this forest would freeze to death.
I watch this scene heartbroken, his pain, my hand clenched against my chest... I could feel it, it was deep, it was dark, filled with confusion. He found his mate, the love of his life, and then it got taken away from him for no reason. I could imagine his despair.
"I never realized it until now
