Chapter 172: The Waterfall Of Truth

"Lady Yelena"

I gasped, flashing my eyes open, seeing the gang before , gaping at

with worried expressions.

Right... I must have stopped moving when I thought of Nicklaus and suddenly began crying, they must be so worried now. I sniffled using my hands to dry my tears.

"Sorry about that... I must have been carried away" I said with a smile hoping to reassure them.

"You are not alright," Puma said without a doubt. "Did sothing happen before you ca here?"

"Yes we know we shouldn’t ask questions because it might be sensitive but we’re worried you know" Gideon intoned.

Ava gave a nod agreeing with the other two.

I smiled, shaking my head. "Just personal stuff, it’s not sothing you should worry yourself over, the most important thing is the Waterfall of Truth, it’s what matters right now, I hope you all can understand," I said trying to divert the topic and hope they would comply with

because I wasn’t ready to speak of things such as the Vampire Realm, it was both sweet and bitter.

"We understand perfectly well My lady," Ava said with a smile. The other two nodded in agreent, they may be magical animals but they were awfully understanding and it made him happy.

"To the waterfall!" Gideon said pointing his paws to the skies, he must be a very dramatic type. And for once they all agreed on the sa thing.

My smile broaden as we continued our walk, I tried to make sure I was not clouded with thoughts anymore because crying and thinking won’t be of any help, rembering was all that matters, in the past I shall find answers and also the truth of my death and hopefully a way to break the curse, I had a strong feeling that there might be a way.

We sauntered through the forest and it couldn’t be more beautiful, the scenery was extrely outstanding, a very peaceful and warm environnt, warm so warm... the total opposite of the Vampire Realm, because I wouldn’t dare to wear such exposed clothing, this was the perfect attire for this environnt.

Ava hopped unto

and settled on my shoulder.

"Tell

Ava... can this waterfall of truth really help

get my mories back?"

She shrugged. "It should... after all it is where all magic of the Spirit Forest is concentrated, in the past you always took a bath there, good for the skin"

"Really?"

She nodded, but then she frowned. "But after you left, no one dares approach the waterfall again"

"Why? What happened?"

"Diablo happened"

"Diablo?"

"Hush we’re here," Puma said as we ca to a halt, my eyes rested on the wide waterfall, beside the spill were rocks and pink flower petals that fell swiftly resting on the water.

"We have to be careful from this point because of Diablo"

"Who or what is Diablo?" I demanded.

Gideon faced

with stern eyes. "A traitorous snake that claid the waterfall of truth for himself after your demise, a fiery cracker he is, none of the other animals co here because of him"

"But if no one can, why bring

here?"

"Because we believe you can stop him... you’re our Guardian after all and it’s ti to knock so sense into him," Ava said, hopping away from my shoulder and landing on the ground perfectly.

"Gideon are you shaking?" she asked, noticing as the red Fox’s legs were like jelly.

"Nope I’m not!" he yelled, but it was clearly the opposite.

"WHO’S THERE!" an old voice barked and the gang hid behind . Are they serious?

"This is your call my lady" Gideon said as they pushed

forward.

"You guys!" I yelled.

"I said who’s there!"

I turned and then I gasped, at one of the tree branches that bent over right at the top of the water, was a large snake, an anaconda to be exact, with pure white scales, a long straight beard just right beneath the mouth, his eyes green. He looked like a very old snake.

"Hey there Diablo" Ava said, poking her head from behind , the rest did too.

"You!" he hissed. "I thought I said no one should-" the next that ca was a strong painful cough. Was he sick? Oh right he was old and he shouldn’t be raising his voice that loud.

"Well too late you sick old snake, our Guardian is here so you can crawl back to whatever hole you ca from!"

"What?!"

"Take a look, yourself," Puma said and then his eyes fell on , they went wide.

"It’s Lady Yelena in the flesh," Gideon said.

"Impossible! You’re supposed to be dead!"

"W-Well I’m here... reincarnated" I finally spoke up, nervous by his intense stare. He leaned toward , but I remained still as I gulped.

"A half goddess..." he said, eyeing my crescent moon tattoo against my forehead. "What was Edwina thinking?"

"Edwina?"

"It’s the na of the Mother goddess" Puma whispered to .

So her na was Edwina.

"Uh! I see your mories aren’t clear yet" Diablo said.

"That’s why I’m here... to get my mories back!"

His eyes narrowed at .

"So Diablo if you let ... this waterfall holds the answers I need" I add with stern eyes, telling him how damn serious I was.

"What is there to show to soone... who hasn’t even embraced her Fox... the waterfall will be your worst nightmare if you entered it unprepared" he states with a hiss, his tiny tongue sticking out.

"What? What do you an?"

"A girl has not beco one with the forest... thereby a girl cannot see what she seeks. Do not believe ? Give it a try" he gave way for

as if to prove his point firsthand.

I eyed him with suspicion about what he ant and then my gaze fell on the stream, and I gulped.

Motivation flushed my features as I leisurely sauntered to the water, my bare feet deepening into it, and then the rest of my body sank. I felt cold and a sudden rush of harsh feeling I could not explain and then I felt sothing wrapped around my leg and pulling

in. I scread at the sudden pull and I was drawn deep into the water with such force that there was ti for

to swim or do anything.

"LADY YELENA!!!!" I heard their loud voices but I kept going deep within it, my mouth gushing open as water filled my lungs, I was drowning!!!

Then I felt sothing wrap around

tight and pull

back to the surface and out of the water, I gasped for breath coughing out spills of water.

"Lady Yelena!"

"She’s alright young ones," Diablo said, he was the one who saved , he had his body wrapped around

and I was still hanging.

"You see child..." he began his head close to . "You’re not ready"

Vampire Realm

It was getting difficult to keep moving, Olivia couldn’t blur with her vampire strength... not when the snow was sticking to her legs hard, she used every ounce of her strength to keep marching forward. The breeze only made it worse, the gush of it kept slowing her walk, she held her hood firm, the storm was so strong and wild, the cold got to her very bones.

Mint was right... This weather was fatal even to a vampire, and it shall remain so because of their Emperor’s current predicant and it would only get worse.

She gasped when she tripped and fell to the snow, she groaned forcing her body up, her teeth clattering together, she couldn’t see anything, or know where she was going, she surely must be lost now for she has been out here for hours and not a thing in sight. If only she knew how to create portals and then this would have been an easy feat to find the Empress.

But she wasn’t gonna give up now... she had to keep trying, for she has already started and made up her mind to find her and she shall do so.

She forced her body to stand as she relentlessly continued marching forward... suddenly she heard a crack but she couldn’t tell where it ca from but she knew what it was, it must be a heap of snow about to slide from a mountain.

Her eyes fell wide at the realization, the strong wind gave way in view and then her brown eyes caught it, the crack was just right before her and the slide was coming, she backed away but fell to the ground at the pull of the snow, the earth beneath her cracked also and the earth parted from the force.

Eager to get away before she would be buried in the most painful way, she forced her body up and ran but one foot on the earth made it crumble and before she knew it she was falling to her death along with the snow.
