Wu no questioned, his mouth slowly smiling at the sight of ning que’s foolishness.
"Bro you ain’t captain Arica!! Xian said and they all burst into laughter
Suddenly, the dragon stopped spitting fire, the throat of the dragon turned into ashes and lted slowly, it was like another set up .
That kind of fire is enough to kill anyone who’d trespass including them to be precise.
But due to the boy shield they were exempted from that cruel fate, more like a funny death
As the throat lted away, so did the other parts of the dragon’s body, producing heat that’s similar to that of a volcano as it lted away.
Then the paths closed
The hallway was now available for them to go through.
They all waited through watching over each other’s back on every end.
The darkness began to enclose on them more and more, then the walls that were about a feet apart from them drew closer. It’s size went down to five feet and even at this stage, neither of them had noticed this drastic change.
Then suddenly the wall grew closer again, going down to 3 feet, they couldn’t see it because the darkness was already blocking their vision the only way they could keep moving was due to the fact that they could feel each other’s backs.
Then Wu Mo felt a wave of cent on his jaw, he didn’t quite notice it at first but then his face scrapped at the wall again.
His subconscious imdiately kickpathway
How is the wall so close?.
He imdiately stretched out his two hands to asure the size of the wall.
But at the mont the wall started to close again, shattering his hands leaving nothing but blood.
" Go on without ! I’ll be fine" . Wu Mo said trying to be a hero even at this Point.
"You don’t have to tell twice" Ming imdiately sprinted upfront... while the others followed without saying anything.
It was a silent rule they all knew about, if any of the mbers is injured severely, they leave him or her behind.
After defeating the boss , then they’ll co back for Wu Mo.
The others saw this as the darkness cleared up.
Xian imdiately brought out his large shield and made an enclosed space while holding the wall from closing using just his shield.
They threw a light orb forward so they could see their pathway clearly because all the fire had already been put out.
"Watch out!!
Ming said, drawing their attention to the fleet of bats coming directly towards them.
He bent his head downwards, evading the fleet of bats that suddenly seed to have sharp claws.
As they approached the ending of the long hallway, the wall started to reopen expanding itself back to it’s normal position.
The hall way lighted up again as they had gotten to the ending.
Then they saw two doors.
The two doors were black, they had no idea which to enter or how to proceed.
Wu Mo who previously led them was already taking a sick break.
"Let’s split into two groups! Xian suddenly suggested.
They turned to look at him sharply, their expressions blank.
"What do you an split into two?. Ning que blurted out with furrowed brows.
"Well there are two doors , we don’t know which continues to the right path or not, so I suggest we split up to see what we can find. Xian continued.
Ning’s eyes glared up at the ancient runes etched into the doors and seed to pulse with a malevolent energy as if warning them to turn back.
"I have a bad feeling about this, I don’t think this is a good idea," Ning Qué said again.
" Well what do you suggest, Mr Smart pants". Xian taunted with a line of mockery in his voice.
Ning’s fixed his eyes on the ancient writings on each door trying to decipher what they ant.
" THE SHADOWS WILL CLAIM THE BRAVE AND THE DARKNESS WILL DEVOUR THE BOLD" Ning muttered silently loud enough to be heard.
"What the hell does that an? Xian asked
" Only one way to find out" Ning replied gesturing towards the doors.
I’ll take Wang Lu, Li wei and Wang Juan through the right door while you take Zhao ling, Chen i and Xiaolong through the right door. Xian suggested again.
Ning que cursed under he’s breath and starter towards the left door.
Xian led his group towards the right door.
Thick cobwebs covered the entrance to the door and with swift of hands in the air it was wiped out clearing their path.
As they walked deeper inside, the darkness seed to close in around them.
Xian could feel the weight of the dungeon’s malevolent energy bearing down upon them.
Suddenly, a faint scream echoed through the corridor, making Wang Lu’s heart to stop a beat.
Li Wei’s eyes snapped towards them, his face set in a grim expression.
"What was that? he whispered flashing the light orb around them.
Wing Lu held unto his shield, ready for whatever might co at them.
"Relax... there’s nothing there, let’s keep going" Xian reassured looking every inch the brave lord.
They kept moving in, suddenly the room lit up with several torches on each side illuminating their path. The room was filled with rows of pillars and ancient sculptures each one adnored with a beautiful life like statue of a woman.
Then their eyes caught hold of the gargoyles situated on each end of the pillars, each was contorted in a silent scream, their mouths frozen In perpetual gag.
"What is this place" Wang Lu’s breathed as they halted in the middle of the room.
"This is creepy"
"Do you have anything in your bag that might help us" Xian asked, turning towards Wang Lu.
He searched his bag and brought out a sickle, a dagger, a war hamr and a scimitar, tossing them to the floor.
"I think these will help"
They picked each weapon as they ford a circle with their backs looking around and ready to ponce on any thing that would crawl
Suddenly the lights started blinking and the gargoyles that were mounted at the pillars on each corners of the room seed to start moving.
The statues on the pillars seed to be twitching.
At first it was just a slight movent, almost imperceptible. But as they watched the statues began to stir, their eyes flickering open.
"They’re coming alive" Wang Juan gasped.
The gargoyles began to climb down from their pedestals, their movents stiff and jerky.
As they reached the ground, they began to move towards them, their eyes fixed on them with a cold dead stare.
"Get ready! Xian whispered to them, readying their weapons.
Their mouths were still frozen but their eyes seed to burn with an inner fire.
As they closed in, they prepared to defend themselves. But they were quickly overwheld by the sheer number of attackers.
The gargoyles attacked with a ferocity that was almost animalistic. They clawed and scratched their fingers raking across their weapons.
One of the gargoyles, eyes blazing with a particularly intense fury launched itself at Wang Lu
He held his axe aiming fruitlessly at it until it pulled him into a tight embrace.
He struggled to break free, aiming his axe fruitlessly at wrong sides until the gargoyle opened its mouth revealing a set of razor - sharp teeth.
It sank its teeth into his shoulder tearing through his clothes and into his flesh.
Wang Lu scread in agony as the gargoyle ripped through his muscles and bones, blood spilling everywhere.
"Wang Luuu.... Wang Juan scread, ignoring the gargoyle’s attacks and running towards Wang Lu with his daggers.
The gargoyle snapped its head up and with one hit, Wang Juan went down to the ground bleeding profusely from his head.
