"A man with white hair?" Ena Thun's face contorted as she stared at the demon before her. The demon's appearance still disgusted her, but she had no choice but to pretend to be polite.

"You saw him yourself. Why did you not tell about that man?" Maledrax hissed. "If I had known there was soone stronger than you, I would have been more careful!"

Why was he blaming her?

Ena pursed her lips, recalling her encounter in the Howling Mountains. She knew those two were the sa, but she never expected the man to directly interfere in her business.

"I did not know about that man," she lied without batting an eyelid. "I never thought soone like him would exist." Ena was aware that if she did not use surprise to attack that man, she would never win. Luckily, the man did not think she would aid the demon, and his attention was solely on the demon. Otherwise, she would have had a very hard ti hitting him.

Furthermore, that one attack had almost cost her life. It was one of the strongest attacks she had ever done, all to save the demon. Yet the demon was actually blaming her?

"Find a new body," the demon demanded. "Not one of your orphans. I need soone stronger to serve the lord."

"And where do you want to find another body?" she asked. "You know very well that those who can withstand your possession are too few." She had already tried to trap individuals from the Korusta empire, especially Lachlan Blaize.

However, her plans were constantly thwarted by so unknown force. Rumors had started to circulate that Lachlan was openly in a relationship with a sorcerer. Ena imdiately suspected that the sorcerer was using her ability to aid Lachlan.

"You cannot take that one," Ena added. She would never allow the demon to take Brinley's body, as she intended to use it as a sacrifice to open the barrier. Once that happened, she would have all the power she could imagine.

"Hmph! You must find another one. Or do you prefer walking around looking like this?" the demon sneered. Due to the white-haired man, the body he currently inhabited had been badly damaged. It was so damaged that it had started to break apart, revealing the bones. It would not be long before he would beco like a walking skeleton!

How could he allow that to happen?

Ena said nothing. She knew the demon could not heal himself, so she understood his frustration. However, she truly could not find another body capable of withstanding a demon's abilities.

She could not take another blessed individual, as they would draw too much attention. Brinley was simply an exception because he was foolish enough to fight with his parents and run away from Sloryn.

They knew Brinley was with Ena and did not bother asking about him, assuming he would return soon. Of course, Brinley would still co back. However, his original soul would be gone. The soul that would occupy his body would be the Archduke—the demon that would give her the power she desired.

"Before the white-haired man ca, I fought with two other people who could use the blessing. However... I did not recognize them. Their hair was black, and they slled normal. If I had not stumbled upon them while wanting to eat so fresh at, I would not have known they could use the blessing."

"Two people?" Ena frowned. "Describe them."

Maledrax imdiately described Elias and Valentin's appearance.

"I have never heard of two other people who can use a blessing like that. Water and fire? The Blaize Family mbers think they are superior and would never agree to travel with those who can wield water. Moreover, how could water and fire create an attack that would boost each other's strengths and weaknesses?"

"I did not know soone from the Blaize Family would even dare to work with soone who can use water."

"Ice," Maledrax uttered. "That man's blessing was different from the others. It was as if he was not using complete water or complete ice but a mixture of both. They are weaker than the white-haired man. Their bodies should be enough." Maledrax added, "I want them here."

"I do not—"

"Do you still want the barrier to break? Do you still want the imnse power you can have once it is broken?"

Ena Thun was at a loss for words. As usual, the demon was using the sa thod to entice her. Did this demon think she was stupid?

She frowned. "I will do my best to find them," she said.

"You better. I want them here tomorrow. I cannot use this body anymore."

Ena nodded, clenching her teeth in irritation. Then she left the demon and walked towards her study.

anwhile, Rosalind had no idea that Elias and Valentin had beco targets of the demon Maledrax. She woke up feeling lighter. The heaviness she had felt at that place was gone. She quickly freshened up and took Magda to Lucas's study, or what remained of it.

"..." Rosalind could only watch the soldiers clean up the place. "Where is he?" she asked Denys, who was overseeing the cleanup.

"I apologize, but I do not know..." Denys answered.

"What happened here?"

"I apologize—"

"Never mind..." Rosalind sighed.

"Elias and Valentin are back," Magda inford her. She did not want to tell Rosalind the bad news right after she woke up. She thought it would be best for her to see the Duke first, or for the Duke to inform her about this matter. Who would have thought that the Duke's study would be like this? "They are currently at the infirmary."

"Infirmary?" As expected, Rosalind's face turned sour.

"Yes. They—"

Rosalind did not wait for her to finish. She walked towards the infirmary. She did not know what happened to Lucas's study, but she suspected it might have sothing to do with Elias and Valentin. But what could it be?
