Charles was the first one to react and respond to Henry's words as he understood what he was getting at. "If we are truly to face other species of intelligent life for this next event then that would explain Joshua's ntor's wording. I do not see soone of his caliber having absolutely no chance in a tournant on this planet alone even with other hub cities involved. I can't even say for certain that the Alliance itself wouldn't have a chance if the event was sohow a guild wide event instead of an individual tournant."
"That's why we believe the next event will involve competition that puts us against other races in what's likely to be a large scale style competition. Otherwise she wouldn't have worded it that way and the requirents wouldn't be set up in such a way." Henry explained.
"Hmm, that would explain why the requirents seem so specific. The fact that there needs to be a certain amount of people to reach level ninety likely ans that there will be a large amount of people participating from each race." Chandler said joining the conversation. "The only issue I see from your ntor's words is that she believes we would not stand a chance as we are and even when we clear all of the requirents since that would be a necessity to even trigger the event in the first place."
"That's why we believe it would actually take so of us having second tier jobs to even stand a chance in the event otherwise I doubt she would have phrased it the way that she did." Joshua explained getting nods all around. "Even so it is also apparent from her words that we will have many opportunities to do this event in the future and the first ti around we are not expected to succeed."
"I doubt that's your style from what you've done in the past." The Stranger's Guild leader said with what Joshua imagined was a smirk or smile just based off of her voice.
"It hasn't been up to this point which is why I hope that we can prevent rushing into things to soon. We should at least give ourselves a chance to succeed if we're going to be forced into the event eventually." Joshua explained.
"Well that brings us to the last reason that I have gathered everyone here for today. I wish to propose a treaty of peace amongst the largest guilds." Charles said dropping a bit of a bomb shell that riled up the crowd. "I know it's a surprising idea, but I figured it was sothing that needed to be done soon enough."
"What's your reasoning behind it?" Laura asked speaking for the first ti since the eting started. "Up to this point the World Governnt Guild has been rather antagonistic to any other large guilds that were even close to being on par with you. I know that you aren't Kyle, but I can't see why the entire guild would shift views so drastically."
"That is true. Originally the World Governnt Guild was brought together to give the hub cities a sense of structure and hopefully a similar presence to the forr governnt set up that our country was under, but that's clearly not the way the system was designed for things to go." Charles said with a shrug. "Guilds are the main design that the system has set up whether its dealing with support guilds or combat guilds and the likely hood of one guild being over everything else is highly unlikely right now with so many shifting parts. Eventually things may settle down to where that is possible, but for now I can't see that being any ti soon."
"In other words you've pulled your head out of your ass." Madalyn said causing so of the other people in the room to chuckle a bit.
"You could put it that way. The World Governnt Guild has divisions all over the world, but so do other groups and in most places there are alliances that have grown either as powerful as that division of the World Governnt Guild or even more so. We may be spread out, but we are spread too thin to honor our original ideas." Charles said with a bit of a frown. "So instead so of the different groups of the World Governnt Guild have decided to embrace the way the system encourages growth. I plan on doing sothing similar. Instead of us constantly fighting amongst each other only going after each other's territories I figured it would be better for us to just expand into territories that are still unconquered."
"Fighting amongst each other doesn't truly get us anywhere in the end. If we want to regain our world then we need to explore and take over all of the territories out there." Chandler said with a small smile. "Fighting each other over territories that have already been claid is just a waste of ti."
"That doesn't even bring up the fact that in the future we're expected to go into conflicts with other races if what you all guessed earlier turns out to be true." The Stranger's Guild leader said while tapping the table. "If we're so busy getting in each other's way what will happen when we're suddenly forced into a position where we have to work together against an entire different species. What if they are experienced working alongside each other while we all end up being torn apart from the inside?"
"What exactly will be the rules for the peace treaty?" Gregory asked looking towards Charles. "As the leader of a guild that is full of people that are willing to work with any other guilds for the right price I need to know what these new stipulations will be."
"It's nothing all that complicated." Charles said sitting back in his chair after having stood for most of the eting up to this point. "There are really only three points to keep track of. First any guild that is a part of this peace treaty can't attack the territories of other guilds involved in the treaty. This is mostly for the larger guilds that have already made a na for themselves so that we do not start any major conflicts."
"That's reasonable, I don't think it would make much sense to put such rules on smaller guilds. Territory wars don't cause any real danger or threat to them since they usually only have small towns in the first place. It's when large towns get involved that territory wars beco an issue." Madalyn said with a shrug. "I pretty much demolished a guild by taking all of their territories after they went after one of our bigger bases so if that's not a possibility anymore then I can see a lot less conflict in the future."
"The second guide line would be that dungeons can be attempted to be conquered at the sa ti, but you are not allowed to try to get in the way of other guilds while doing it. Competition will be allowed, but it will be mostly in the form of racing each other to the finish. In the end the winner will be decided by who gets the final blow on the last boss." Charles explained.
"That would prevent a lot of the little skirmishes that end up growing into full on conflicts between guilds." Henry said getting nods from the others.
"The last guide line will involve any upcoming events. With this guideline we shall gather together to clear the final requirent for such an event to start. This way no one is caught by surprise. So in the case of the next event when it cos ti we should join together to clear the first small city. When the territory is cleared out it can be shared as a base for the entire hub city." Charles said finishing his last point.
"It would deal with a lot of issues we could run into, but how exactly are we planning to make sure that everyone follows these guide lines?" Joshua asked, but before Charles could respond soone else decided to interrupt.
"This is ridiculous." The leader of the Raider's Guild growled out with an ugly scowl. "Do you expect to sit back and go along with sothing like this? The only way to grow strong in a world such as this is through conflict. By fighting one another the strongest get to co out on top and the strongest are the ones that make the decisions in the end. Isn't that why only the large guilds have been invited to this eting in the first place."
"We will inform all guilds of the hub city about the decision in the end and allow them to make decision whether they want to be a part of the peace treaty but only so many could be involved in the first eting." Charles said while glaring back towards the Raider's Guild leader.
"It doesn't matter it still proves my point that the strong are the ones that are making this decision in the first place. In the end it doesn't amount to anything. I and the rest of my guild will not be a part of it. We will do what our strength will allow us to do and in the end we will grow from it." The man said before standing up and heading for the exit with the rest of his guild mbers following behind. Before he could leave though soone else spoke up.
"Since you're not joining the peace treaty you can consider yourself no longer under the umbrella of the World Governnt Guild, although I expected that's what you wanted in the first place." Charles said as he watched the Raider's Guild mbers leave the room.
"He won't be getting any of us rcenaries to work alongside him if he's planning to cause trouble you have my word on that." Gregory said with others agreeing that it was for the best. Joshua also noticed a couple of other guild leaders leave that were more on the shady side along with the guild leader of the Scavenger's Guild.
"Regardless we should keep this in mind for the peace treaty as well. If any territory is attacked by outside sources then others can chip into help recapture that territory or help out in dungeon squabbles." Charles said with a smile now that he knew that everyone that stayed wanted to be a part of the treaty. From there the eting was just filled with small discussions of more specifics that could be brought up for the treaty and what they could do to plan for the upcoming event. Soon enough everyone started heading out to get ready for when the system would remove the ban on territory wars and things would kick off once again..
