"I lost my ability..." Sherazade murmured as she regained consciousness.
Naturally, she would have preferred to lose an ability she didn’t use, but wasn’t one of her strongest powers. Besides, things could have been much worse, if she had lost , she would have faced much bigger problems, as she would have been unable to use all of her magic-related abilities.
But there was no use dwelling on what could have happened. The reality was that she had been completely defeated. On top of that, she had been forced to use her last resort, sothing she had never thought she would need.
After everything, all she could do now was accept that she had failed her mission. If she had already lost the first ti they fought, what chance did she have against the group now that she was weaker?
Accepting this reality, she was forced to remove a small bluish crystal, embedded in one of her earrings.
She infused her mana into the object, causing it to glow faintly. The light flickered softly for a few monts until Sherazade heard a low humming in her mind.
At the sa ti, Amanda, who wasn’t even inside the rift, heard the sa sound. The blonde picked up a much larger bluish crystal that she kept in her drawer and also infused her mana into it.
"What happened?" the woman asked in an irritated tone.
After a brief delay, her words resonated in Sherazade’s mind, making her sigh. She was not the type to make excuses, so her report was straightforward and concise.
"I was defeated."
"What do you an?" Amanda asked, genuinely surprised.
She had already prepared herself for a possible failure, or even betrayal, by the assassin group she had hired, but such a quick defeat seed a bit too much.
Amanda bit her own finger, feeling tense with everything that was happening. Her plan couldn’t fail because if those students returned to the surface and reported what had happened, she could really be in trouble.
Besides, that group seed to be much more talented than she had expected, only that could explain how they had survived.
With no other options, she had to quickly communicate with the leader of the rescue squad that the school had sent. Of course, she had done everything possible to ensure that the n chosen were loyal to her.
So she gave the order to those n, telling them they should exterminate the students. She definitely didn’t want to do that because it would make it too easy to link her to the murder later.
But if she managed to secure the position of academy principal and, at the sa ti, consolidate her position as the sole leader of the Belfort family, all of this would be worth it. After all, she would have the power and influence to crush any obstacle.
At that mont, she heard a few knocks on her door. Worried, she simply ordered Sherazade to give the details of how she had been defeated to the rescue squad. After that, she destroyed the communication crystal.
"Enter," she said in a solemn voice.
The door slowly creaked open, the faint noise breaking the tense silence of the room. A girl of dium height hesitantly stepped inside, clutching an envelope with trembling hands. Her body seed to shrink into itself, as if she wished to beco invisible in Amanda’s intimidating presence.
Her brown eyes avoided direct contact, fixing on the floor as she took short, hesitant steps forward. Her shoulders were hunched, and her fingers nervously gripped the report, slightly crumpling the edges of the paper.
"E-excuse ..." her voice ca out soft, almost a whisper. She stopped a few ters from the desk, clearly reluctant to step any closer.
Amanda raised an eyebrow, impatient, and gestured for the girl to hand over the docunt quickly.
The young woman imdiately obeyed, handing over the paper. But she quickly stepped back, like a frightened wild animal.
"What is this about?" Amanda questioned in an irritated tone.
"It’s about Vice Principal Morrigan..." the girl stamred, taking a step back. "She entered the rift..." she gathered the last bit of courage she had to finish her sentence.
Amanda froze for a mont, her eyes narrowing. But soon, she dismissed the ssenger, who quickly rushed out of the room, not wanting to face her mistress’s fury once she read that report. She knew the information she carried would not be well received.
Morrigan had entered the rift without any prior warning or proper authorization. That was the core of the ssage.
On one hand, this ant Amanda could take over as director even sooner, after all, Morrigan had abandoned her duties.
On the other hand, the news made the blonde’s stomach twist. What was that damn redhead planning to do inside the rift? The only possible answer was: save the students.
"Damn it!" She shouted, slamming her fist against the desk once she was alone.
Amanda knew she had to prepare quickly for the worst-case scenario.

After finding all the students, Davi and Sophia finally managed to guide them to the room where the altar with the two flas was located.
And for the first ti in days, the low-rank students were able to relax. Ever since they had been teleported, they had been worried about what would happen to them and how they could escape from it all.
Many of them thanked Davi deeply for saving them. In particular, Hao had the look of soone who would follow the boy for the rest of his life.
Well, that was to be expected, considering everything Davi had done. And among the high-rank students, a strong sense of respect for Davi had also ford. They all knew how difficult it was to survive inside the rift, they had felt it firsthand.
But they couldn’t even imagine how skilled a leader had to be to keep all the low-rank students alive in that environnt.
That said, one question still remained: where was Sylvia?
The boy had already told Sophia everything he knew, so he was relieved to see that the fla was still burning. But the only explanation he could give was that the girl was still undergoing the test.
And before everyone could get used to the peace or have a chance to properly discuss their next steps, a grand spectacle captured their attention.
The fla that represented Sylvia, until then calm and steady, suddenly began to shine intensely, as if sothing had deeply disturbed it.
Its pulsating light bathed the room in golden and reddish hues, casting dancing shadows on the walls. The fla didn’t just glow, it moved in an exaggerated, almost frantic dance, as if desperately trying to convey sothing urgent.
A surge of powerful energy radiated from the flas, sending chills down everyone’s spines.
"What’s happening to her?" soone asked, their voice filled with both concern and curiosity.
No one responded imdiately, after all, no one had an answer.
All they could do was watch the srizing spectacle, captivated by the fla’s erratic movents.
Then, without warning, the fla erupted into a cascade of golden sparks, which scattered through the room before slowly fading away.
Finally, after the long display, the flas stabilized. This ti, Sylvia’s fla was noticeably larger than Davi’s.
No one had the slightest idea what it ant, but the boy assud it was a sign that she was still alive, after all, her fla was still burning, and more vibrantly than ever.
’Sorry for the delay, but I’ll finally be able to deliver your reward.’
Then Davi heard that familiar voice ring in his mind, and in the next instant, a blue system screen appeared before him.
[Do you wish to accept the invitation of the temple protector?]
The system asked him this, giving him the option to decline or accept.
’Please accept, it’s .’ Gilg said once again, explaining himself.
Davi naturally thought about accepting, after all, he hoped that this being might know sothing about Sylvia’s whereabouts.
So, he quickly turned to Sophia and explained to her what was happening, saying that he would likely be teleported to another place.
She also agreed with him that it was a good idea, so he decided to accept the invitation.
Then, just as his body was about to disappear from that place, Alexia tried to hold onto his hand and, surprisingly, she was also teleported.
Everyone around who saw this smiled ironically, while being impressed by the teleportation used.
anwhile, Davi ended up in an incredibly luxurious room, surrounded by striking decorations.
But what imdiately caught his attention was a faceless being, glowing faintly before him. And, upon seeing it, Gilg smiled once more, then, with a snap of his fingers, made a massive door appear behind him.
"I thought a lot about what reward to give you, but considering the strange ability you have, I think this is the best possible option." Gilg took a step to the side, moving out of the way of the object he had summoned.
Just as the being finished saying these words, the enormous door he had summoned began to open slowly. On the other side, it was possible to see what appeared to be another dinsion.
Then, suddenly, a woman with wolf ears erged from that place and jumped on top of Davi, kissing him passionately.
