Davi was exhausted. Even the simple act of breathing made every muscle in his body protest in pain, and his mind seed to wander aimlessly, on the verge of collapsing.
Still, Alia's fist approached too fast, not even granting him a mont to think.
He needed to feel. He needed to let the ability flow instinctively. Otherwise, he would be hit by her again.
Focusing on the mana around him, Davi fixed his gaze on a point in the arena.
And then, when he realized it, his body had already changed position.
But Alia didn't stop to praise him. She just kept attacking without offering a single second of respite.
All Davi could do was desperately teleport, trying to escape that maniac. Sotis he succeeded; other tis, he was hit without being able to avoid it.
He clenched his fists and sought concentration once more. Maintaining focus in the middle of such a battle was almost impossible.
anwhile, Alia made everything seem incredibly simple. She moved through the arena in successive teleports, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Once again, Davi escaped at the last instant. This ti, he didn't even realize where he had gone. His body had only reacted out of pure instinct, fleeing from danger.
Gradually, he began to get used to Alia's powers, no matter how insane and exhausting it was.
Then... his knees touched the ground. His mana was exhausted. And he had already taken too many potions that day.
The ability had evolved, allowing him to use a fraction of the girls' powers, as long as he had mana to sustain it.
But that only ant he was draining energy at an absurd speed. Even with all the mana he possessed, his body could no longer keep up.
"Okay, that's enough," Alia comnted in a sharp tone.
Then she appeared next to the boy and extended her hand to him, gently helping him up.
"Don't forget your training and trust your instincts. Just let your body move before you can even understand what's happening. If you do that, you'll be able to fight him." She comnted seriously.
Alia hadn't faced Norman many tis, but she knew a little about his fighting style. And, more importantly, she knew how absurdly fast he was.
If Davi couldn't dodge the blows by instinctively teleporting, he would eventually be defeated. After all, it was impossible for him to surpass his father's speed in that combat.
"One more thing... don't die, please," she asked, her voice firm and serious, without any trace of playfulness.
"You can count on it," Davi replied in the sa tone. He had no intention of losing. After all, it wasn't just his life he carried; there was too much responsibility on his shoulders.
"If you keep forcing yourself to train in this state, you'll end up too worn out for the fight. So, from now on, just rest and relax. Do your best tomorrow."
After her last words of encouragent, Alia enveloped him in a flash of energy and, in the blink of an eye, teleported him to Sophia's house.
The blonde imdiately received him, using her healing powers to accelerate the recovery of Davi's tired body.
Then, the maids took care of him. They prepared hot baths to relieve his tension, served nutritious als, and, above all, made sure he didn't have to lift a finger. The order was clear: no unnecessary effort, just total rest, both physical and ntal.
Davi, obedient for the first ti in a long ti, let himself go. Except for al breaks, he spent the remaining hours sitting in silence, ditating.
In his mind, he relived the hundreds of battles against Alia: every punch, every teleport, every ti he was knocked down and got back up. He rembered the feeling of teleporting.
Between these flashes, he ntally projected what he would do when he faced his father. Movents, strategies, even possible failures.
With his eyes closed, his breathing deep and constant, he seed increasingly serene.
At the very least, he felt prepared.
Then he lay down and slept calmly, allowing his body to fully recover for the mont of facing that damned man.
The next day, as soon as he woke up, he found Sophia and Luna looking at him with apprehensive eyes. The two had been watching him sleep, feeling more anxious with each passing mont.
"Are you sure you're going to do this?" Sophia asked worriedly.
"Don't fight," Luna, on the other hand, was more direct. "There's no reason, you don't need to risk yourself."
Davi smiled softly; he understood his girlfriends' feelings, but he couldn't back down at that mont. He needed to face his father.
"Sorry, but I can't run away," he comnted, looking directly at Luna. Then he approached, gave her a quick kiss, and murmured, "Trust , okay, I'll win."
Then he turned to Sophia and said a few more words to calm her down, then left the room, leaving the two behind.
Outside his room, Alexia was waiting with a beautiful sword in her hands.
"Morrigan asked to give you this." Alexia bowed respectfully, presenting the sword to the man. "Please... win, master."
"Don't worry. I won't lose no matter what," he replied, forcing a confident smile. Still, his hands trembled slightly when he took the blade from her hands.
Alexia, however, was not fooled by the small flaws. She just smiled, gladly accepting the determination of the man she had chosen to follow as master.
It was at this mont that Alia appeared before him, teleporting directly into the house.
Her eyes conveyed silent concern. Deep down, she also didn't want Davi to risk himself in such a dangerous fight, but she understood that this was a rare opportunity, the kind of battle that would make the boy grow even more as a warrior.
"Let's go," Alia said softly, approaching. Without hesitation, she touched her lips to his in a delicate kiss.
In the next instant, the two were already standing in a vast underground arena, hidden beneath Enki. The heavy silence contrasted with the grandeur of the place, illuminated only by torches attached to columns of black stone.
And there, patiently waiting in the center, was Norman. The man held a huge axe naturally, as if it were just an extension of his own body.
Norman's eyes burned with pure hatred.
"You've finally arrived," he said in a harsh tone, his voice laden with contempt. Then he raised the huge axe, pointing it directly at his son. "The rules will be simple: we will fight with everything we have. Whoever leaves alive... wins."
Alia opened her mouth to protest, but then closed it. She knew it would be useless to try to change those conditions.
In silence, she took a step back, crossed her arms, and assud the posture of soone who would only observe.
Davi didn't even have ti to respond. Before he could confirm his acceptance of the fight, Norman was already advancing with the ferocity of a wild beast, brandishing the axe with brutal force.
The boy dodged by a hair's breadth, feeling the cutting wind of the blade pass by his body. Right behind, the impact of the blow opened a deep fissure in the arena floor, echoing a deafening roar through the stone walls.
