"I don’t like them..." Davi muttered as he observed his enemies from a safe distance.

In his hands, he held an object that looked like a wide ring, with a bluish light in the center. But it was actually a magical binocular, through which he could watch Lina’s group from afar.

He wanted to get an idea of each girl’s abilities and prepare carefully, but none of them had even tried to attack. They left all the fighting to the ice mage.

That said, they didn’t seem particularly strong, and Davi was confident he could defeat them even without using .

Maybe the safest option was to simply walk away, but he still had no idea where the others were. Besides, he really didn’t like seeing the way those girls were treating his friend, it made his blood boil.

But before attacking, he needed a plan. At the mont, the boy was at the top of a tree, watching his enemies from a distance, so he had all the ti in the world to think about how he would strike.

So, he took his backpack off and decided to go over all the magical gear he had brought with him, thinking about which ones he should use to defeat that group.

At his waist, Davi carried a newer model of the mana weapon that Luna had gifted him last ti. But this one wasn’t a prototype, it was a finished product.

He also had so magical grenades: three of them made purely with fire mana crystals, causing large explosions when activated. Two were electric, and he also had a flashbang to disorient his opponents if needed.

Strapped to his back, the boy carried a curved, translucent dagger forged from solidified ether crystals. The blade was quite expensive, but Luna had recomnded it because of its amazing effect.

That blade didn’t cut physical matter, but instead sliced through magical energy and enemy spells, making it an excellent defensive tool, especially when he wasn’t benefiting from the enhanced resistance granted by his girl’s powers.

On his fingers, Davi wore two silver rings engraved with intricate runes. The first allowed him to conjure small mana shields. The second was made with the sa experintal crystal that had been handed out to students during the S-rank exam. It could absorb fire and wind-based attacks.

On his leg, he carried two knives ready to be used in an ergency. With Sylvia trapped inside the rift, a place that blocked her ability to co out, he could no longer use her powers. The sa went for Ummu and Haru. So he had to rely on conventional weapons.

He also carried items that wouldn’t be very useful in combat, like a first aid kit, a flashlight, so supplies that should last the whole group for the first day, and so equipnt to set up camp.

Furthermore, he had a set of incense sticks, so with the function of attracting monsters and others that served to repel them.

But this kind of thing only worked for low-level enemies, but it could be useful for the campsite. And the pistol that Davi carried with him didn’t have a great range, but it was the ideal weapon for dealing with those guys.

With a plan in mind, he moved through the forest. Unfortunately, the group kept trying to stay together at all tis, so the first thing he needed to do was separate them.

As soon as he approached, one of the girls shouted that there was soone in the forest. As he already expected, she seed to have so detection ability.

That’s why she would be the first to be eliminated, her ability would be too much of an annoyance to his plans.

Before Lina could launch an attack, he threw one of the explosive grenades into the center of the group. The girls recognized the object and imdiately ran in all directions, wanting to avoid the large explosion that followed.

Amidst the chaos, Davi ran quickly towards the annoying girl and, drawing one of his knives, skillfully managed to sink the weapon into the woman’s stomach.

The girl, who wasn’t used to being injured like that in combat, let out a sharp scream. Then she glared at the man with a look full of hatred.

But the anger was replaced by despair when he quickly pulled the knife from her stomach. She felt even more pain as her blood painted the ground.

Afraid of what might happen if she didn’t receive treatnt soon, the woman murmured in a weak voice:

"I give up."

Naturally, the others quickly tried to surround the boy, but he used his flash grenade, blinding them for a mont. Taking advantage of the fact that they were blinded by it, the boy fired randomly, trying to scare them. At the sa ti, he fled into the dense forest, wanting to hide.

His tactic worked; after all, one of the girls was grazed and ran away in fear of the next blow. a nearby friend accompanied her, and the group was split into two.

And when they opened their eyes again, they noticed that Davi had already disappeared. Not only that, but soon they realized they had separated.

Sure, it wouldn’t be too difficult for the girls to reunite, but Davi had used one final trick. The trio of girls soon noticed a strange sll. And before they could even start looking for their friends, they realized that so monsters were approaching.

"Just finish them off already!" one of the girls shouted desperately at Lina.

"Damn it, if you weren’t so useless and had captured that damn boy, we wouldn’t be going through all this," the other one snapped.

The two quickly hid behind the mage, pushing her forward and forcing her to face the two monsters closing in.

The reason for all that fear was simple: neither of the two had any real combat experience. And to make matters worse, their opponents were two grotesque, slimy giant toads. Neither of the pampered brats wanted to deal with such disgusting creatures.

anwhile, the pair who had split from the main group were frantically searching for their companions.

"Why the hell did you run like that, idiot?!" one of them yelled at the other.

"Because I got hit!" the friend shouted back. "And you didn’t even have to follow !"

The stress of the situation was already making their weak friendship fall apart. Davi was honestly impressed by how easily they had lost their composure.

He hadn’t even thought people like them would try to beco explorers, let alone actually get accepted. Well, the girls clearly had a lot of money, and their ranks were low, so that probably explained how it happened.

"If you can’t even handle this, you’ll probably die the first ti you enter a real rift," Davi said coldly, revealing himself to the two won.

He really believed it was better for them to learn a lesson right then and there. If they kept acting so stupidly, they’d end up dead the mont things got serious.

"Shut up!" one of the girls yelled, trying to launch a fireball at him.

He quickly drew the sword from his back, then cut the attack in half.

His opponent responded by trying to launch more fireballs, in a way that seed a bit desperate. Her movents were predictable and repetitive, so the boy could defend himself with ease.

At the sa ti, the other woman, who was also a mage, began to concentrate her mana, preparing to cast a more powerful spell.

Obviously, the boy wouldn’t allow her the ti for that. So he advanced quickly, conjuring a burst of fire in his path and approaching the mage.

He quickly landed a punch in the pit of the girl’s stomach. She, feeling the intense pain, lost her concentration, and her mana dissipated.

Davi sighed, "A mage should never lose focus on what they’re doing in battle."

Finally, he pressed the barrel of his gun against the head of the woman who was kneeling on the ground.

At the sa ti, he activated his shield, defending himself from the fire mage’s desperate attack.

"Give up if you don’t want to get hurt more, I don’t even know if you’ll survive the shot," he said in a cold and intimidating voice.

"I give up," the kneeling woman said with tears in her eyes.

Finally, the boy’s attention turned to the fire mage, and once again, he cut her spell with his special sword.

"I recomnd you give up soon, you must be almost out of mana, aren’t you?"

Davi approached that woman with slow steps; he could see that her gaze looked desperate, but she still didn’t want to give up.

"Fuck you!" the girl shouted, getting up with what little strength she had left and firing two fireballs at the sa ti.

Davi moved quickly to cut the attacks, but he had to say, that girl’s determination was comndable.

And she seed to be evolving during the fight. Maybe not all of them were a lost cause...

Thinking about this, Davi prolonged the fight a little longer, trying to teach that inexperienced mage a few things.

But when she fell to her knees on the ground, with her mana exhausted, the fight was over, and there was nothing more to be said.

"I give up," she said.

Then Davi advanced to where the rest of the group was.
