Moira’s POV

I know that Kyrell has already been alerted of my coming even before I walked into his chambers unannounced. I am the only one he gave that right because he has a hard ti trusting anyone around him, except his bestfriend, Declan.

The minute I walked in, I noticed that he was still working. He has been busy all morning, scribbling on a piece of paper. The frown on his face was evident as usual and it’s sothing that one couldn’t miss the minute you look at him.

Although, he is considered the most powerful man in all the seven prominent kingdoms, he isn’t as scary looking to even though he does manage to scare sotis.

"I know that you did not co all the way here to stare at my face, Moira." He said to , still scribbling away. "What is it that you want, Moira?"

I jolted back to reality. My mind must have wandered off as usual.

"My Lord." I bowed my head slightly in greeting "I brought you so herbal tea to help with the headache."

"Those herbs are pointless Moira. They only take the headache away for a short ti but it never really goes away." His frown deepens and I knew then that he was agitated.

Over the years, Kyrell has tried different dications from both his pack and the neighbouring packs but nothing has ever changed. His condition remained the sa.

"If you keep on taking them like the physician prescribed then I’m pretty sure that you’ll be fine in no ti."

His face tightens at my words but I couldn’t stop staring at him. I love staring at him because he reminded of his mother.

The young master’s mother was indeed a beauty to behold and I am extrely happy that he took most of her features. The only thing that he got from his father was his stone cold heart and frown which was the signature look of the Zivando’s.

But then, I cannot bla Kyrell for it. The poor man has gone through a lot from his own father that broke and rebuilt him again.

Sotis, I even wondered if things would’ve been different if Kyrell’s mother were alive. Her co-wife, Adora was a good woman who took really care of their king before her demise. No man should be ever subjected to such cruelty.

"Moira, you and I know that I will never be fine." From where I stood, I could feel his wolf growl at that statent. It was an unsettling topic that always reminded him of his terrible childhood.

"Do not say such a thing, My Lord." I cautioned him. I might be a servant in the Zivando’s household but I was the closest thing he has to a mother. He regards as such despite my low status.

"You have suffered too much. You have taken care of this land and its people for a long ti ever since the great war that befell our land. We have both seen troubled tis and I can assure you my lord, that you would pass through the fire and soon, everything would be fine again." I assured him.

He nodded his head but his facial expressions were still the sa. Sadly you cannot tell when Kyrell is happy, sad or worried because his face always remains the sa.

"Did the physician taking care of that slave co bearing any news?"

I shook my head. "No, My Lord but I will inform you as soon as he does."

"How is Lady Natalia?" He asked with a brief pause.

"Worse my lord. The herbs aren’t working and she isn’t getting any better. I fear for the worse." I whispered empathetically.

Natalia, was his first wife that was married off to him after he assisted her father’s land to overco a great battle from an enemy pack. She was the reward for his help.

Although he never intended to get married to her but when the council openly told him to take her as his wife in order to father an heir that would take over him, he had no choice but to oblige to their demands to get them off his back but deep down, I know that he doesn’t want a child. He doesn’t want to be a father either.

I knew that he respects Natalia and his wife does so too. Although, they never et eye to eye and she is not his mate, they had sohow managed to find a common ground to walk on. She ca down with a dreadful illness about a year ago and has been getting worse with each passing day.

Whenever I see her, I can only perceive the sll of death and I’m certain that even Kyrell knew that it was only a matter of ti before she passes because the herbs from our land aren’t working and so were the ones that he had acquired from other packs as well.

Kyrell lets out a deep breath "Inform the Lady that I would be paying her a visit in her chambers soon." he ordered with that deep voice that spelt command.

"Yes, My Lord."

"You may leave now, Moira"

"Not after you take your herbs." I told him softly.

He raised up his head to look at the cup that I was offering. After much hesitation, he took it from and drowned all the contents in one gulp.

I would’ve swore that the herbs I gave to him were extrely bitter but his face was telling otherwise. It was almost like he drank sothing sweet. His expression is still the sa. No changes whatsoever.

He handed the cup to and I took it with a bow before turning to leave his room.

"Oh and Moira," He called out, stopping in my tracks.

"Yes My Lord," I turned around to look at him earnestly, waiting for his orders.

"Do not forget to give Anya the herbs that you normally give to her. She spent the night in my chambers." He finished off, head still bent down and hands still working tirelessly.

"Of course." I respond in understanding before dismissing myself out of his chambers.

I would give Anya the herbs alright but in high hopes that she actually takes them because that woman has a mind of her own and never listens to .
