Revive Rome: Wait! Why not make the empress fall in love with me first? Chapter 803: 12: Information Fraud
Chapter 803: Chapter 12: Information Fraud
A few hours later, Aske and Sigrdrifa were already being led by the Naga guards into the mountains north of Hero Harbor.
Along the way, he quietly handwrote a note and sent it to Fire Island, telling the girls not to co out for the ti being.
Of course, the fact that there were nine people in The Azure Longsword Team wasn’t a secret, as the Naga guards had witnessed them entering the harbor yesterday. However, Aske’s prior revelation of what the Nagas were planning had already made them very tense.
If later the girls started appearing one by one, it might continue to agitate the Nagas’ nerves. If any one of them were provoked to the breaking point and acted rashly, a conflict might erupt, leading to mutual harm before Leviathan’s arrival… there’s no need for that.
Of course, concealing strength lies in one’s confidence in their power. Aske was now an Lv.20 novice demigod, reaching the upper limit of Magic Tide Level. Even if the Naga Clan had set so traps, he was confident he could lead everyone to safety.
As they continued forwards, Aske roughly confird their destination—the cave beneath Moniz Volcano.
The island where Hero Harbor sat, Teresa Island, was one of the initial four islands of the original Undead Dungeon, so it had been thoroughly explored by players. Among them, the central Moniz Volcano had a hidden cave beneath it.
According to the experts among the players, this cave seed to have been ford by past volcanic eruptions. In any case, players had explored it completely, with vertical shafts over 200 ters deep. The path wasn’t complicated, and deep inside was a church structure carved from silicate stalactites.
Yet there were no monsters, no storyline, and not even a docunt to start a quest. Such maps were generally called “satellites” in the gaming industry, created to encourage exploration by players. Once the storyline was added in later expansions, player anticipation could be ignited imdiately.
Now, Aske finally understood the storyline behind this cave: it was evidently related to the ancient Naga Clan from the Prehistoric Era.
Following the Naga to the entrance, he saw the heavy rain pelting the edge with a crackling sound, with water continuously pouring into the cave entrance.
“Let’s go.” The Naga holding a trident, with a solemn expression, looked at them.
Aske walked into the cave calmly. As a demigod, he wasn’t worried about drowning… With Body Conceptualization activated, he didn’t need to breathe.
Sigrdrifa seed a bit tense. In her past pirate life, she’d dived to recover shipwrecks countless tis. This type of cave could be very dangerous because if you entered a narrow space underwater and got stuck or lost, you might suffocate and die.
But having the squad leader here was more reliable than any flimsy life vest, oxygen tank, anti-drowning harness, or survival knife. Seeing Aske walk into the cave calmly, Sigrdrifa naturally followed with her head held high, tossing her white hair, and sauntered in.
The front part of the cave was relatively narrow, only allowing one person to pass through. After advancing several dozen steps, their view suddenly opened up.
Above, the ceiling was smooth, leading straight to the somber sky, clearly situated at the waist of a volcanic eruption passage, surrounded by dense plants swaying in the heavy rain’s water flow.
Continuing downward, they ca upon a slope. After the slope, they saw a certain cavern chamber.
The chamber was built in the shape of a church’s vestibule, with a splendidly glorious do. Upon closer inspection, the do wasn’t inlaid with gold leaf but so kind of reflective silicate mineral.
At the ti, the vestibule was guarded by two Naga guards. They didn’t wear any robes to conceal their forms, their snake tails subrged in water up to their calves. Seeing their companion return with two humans, they instantly raised their tridents in alarm.
“They know about the storm,” the Naga guard said earnestly.
The two Naga guards’ expressions changed again, glancing at Aske and Sigrdrifa, then at their companion. Finally, one decided to go in to notify the priest, while the other stayed to help guard them.
The Naga Clan reacted swiftly. Within a few minutes, a priest erged from the church vestibule.
This Naga priest was differently attired from the other guards, simply wrapping a few circles of coarse hemp cloth around the top of his snake tail, covering most scales, holding a silver magic wand.
“The Azure Longsword?” The priest’s sharp gaze swept over Sigrdrifa and then lingered on Aske.
Instead of asking about the Leviathan information that concerns the Nagas most, he started by inquiring about the rcenary group’s na, evidently adept at dealing with rcenaries and trying to seize the topic’s initiative.
However, Aske clearly didn’t intend to give him that chance, directly dropping the first bombshell:
“You’re from a past tiline, aren’t you?”
“Oh?” the priest replied flatly without expression, neither confirming nor denying, as if the question was amusingly trivial.
“We are humans of this world line,” Aske continued, “having encountered a group of rfolk in the peripheral sea.”
“They inford us that the Sea God’s offspring have recently been active in nearby waters. Considering Hero Harbor has also recently erged, it’s hard for us not to connect the two.”
Sigrdrifa silently gaped because the rfolk only ntioned “never daring to approach this sea area.” As for “Hero Harbor recently erging,” it was never ntioned! The squad leader was bluffing! Amazing!
Sure enough, the Naga priest’s expression shifted subtly, but upon seeing Sigrdrifa’s expression, he shook his head indifferently again, showing an expression disdainful of debate:
“Just speculation, and you’re using it to question us?”
“Of course, it’s not just this speculation,” Aske said, “there are also so fragnted hearsay clues, like ntions of the Deep Sea Plane, the Endless Giant Maw Beast, the Nine Great Temples, the sunken ancient continent, and your Zongdelilic coming from the legendary Atlantis, etc.”
His words were deliberately vague this ti, much to Sigrdrifa’s disappointnt, as she’d expected the squad leader to drop a heavy bombshell.
However, this ti the Naga priest’s frosty expression finally relaxed, and he carefully reassessed Aske’s appearance before a faint smile erged:
“So, who exactly are you?”
“I’ve already introduced us, haven’t I? We are The Azure Longsword rcenary Corps,” Aske replied.
“The Azure Longsword…” the priest murmured, nodding, “Alright, I’ll rember this na.”
“Co inside, young human demigod.” He moved the staff to one side, and the water at the base naturally parted to reveal the dry stone ground.
