74: Chapter 58: Raiding the Great Arena_2 74: Chapter 58: Raiding the Great Arena_2 Aske and his companions, with every segnt of distance they covered, saw the bodies of fallen rcenaries by the roadside, either beheaded or shattered to pieces, each death crueler than the last.

Within the Mind Channel, Nora’s voice rose, sowhat worried:

“Aske…”

“It’s fine,” Aske replied, “Everyone, keep calm.”

Thus, they had no choice but to feign calmness as they walked past the vigilant eyes of the roadside police.

Nowadays, Constantinople had beco much more desolate, with the majority of the shops shuttered and the few pedestrians on the streets hurrying along wearing hats and masks, wrapped up tight despite the heat of the sumr.

Upon reaching the Constantinople Arena, the nearby streets were surprisingly clean, devoid of any remnants of rioting, corpses, or bloodstains.

After all, the Arena housed many skilled killers; no rcenary, however hot-headed, dared to target the Arena’s lord.

Except for Aske.

Staying at a nearby inn until the dead of night, Aske and Mia took to the streets outside.

In the distance, the direction of Golden Horn Bay was still ablaze with fire, every few minutes punctuated by the faint sound of gunfire and explosions.

It seed the Franks had not yet breached the defenses of the Galata Bridge; otherwise, the main city area would not have been as calm as it was now.

Leading Mia into the Arena, Aske, who was familiar with the place, effortlessly scaled the iron railing and headed in the direction of the Glory Room.

Suddenly, he stretched out his arm to stop Mia and pointed with his other hand to a cara on the ceiling above.

There were surveillance caras.

Mia patted her chest confidently, implying: Caras are no big deal, I’ve got plenty of experience dealing with them, go back to Fire Island.

Aske shivered suddenly, God knows how he’d managed to infer so much from her single gesture.

Had his thinking really synchronized with this young girl?

Aske, having visited before, had already morized the inner layout, so he handed the pre-drawn map to Mia and then, activating his Spirituality, teleported back to Fire Island.

Mia tiptoed to a shadowy corner of the wall, slowly “lding” into it by invoking the power of Shadow I’s Extraordinary Traits.

Within the realm of shadow vision, her Life Body had turned into a grey Spiritual Body, freely moving through the darkness.

In this environnt, light transford into countless dense, sharp lines, as treacherous as blades.

Touching these lines with her Spiritual Body would result in a certain degree of Spiritual damage.

Navigating within the shadows beyond the surveillance cara’s field of vision, a corridor lay ahead, with moonlight streaming through the window grills and spilling onto the floor, which, in Mia’s eyes, beca nurous sharp lines of danger.

Consequently, she had to exit her shadow vision and return to reality.

At the end of the corridor stood a surveillance cara aid this way.

To advance carelessly would surely be caught on monitor.

Mia didn’t dare take the chance that soone might be in the security room, though she had plenty of experience dealing with such situations.

She pulled out a piece of gum from her pocket, unwrapped it, and popped it into her mouth to chew vigorously for a few monts, then she took it out, pressing it into so strong adhesive she had sared on the remainder of the surface.

Throw!

The gum stuck firmly on the wall two centiters from the cara—a bit off target.

Mia silently sweated, thankfully Aske wasn’t around to see it.

She still had two dozen pieces of gum in her pocket, so she took out another piece, chewed again, and repeated the process, this ti sticking the gum directly onto the cara lens.

In the security room, a screen suddenly went dark without warning, prompting the puzzled duty officer to stand up, considering checking out the situation.

He figured the cara must have broken…

Following the route on the map Aske had provided, Mia re-entered the realm of shadow vision and soon arrived at the door to the Glory Room.

Here, it was where the “single-day champions” would receive their prizes, and the awards were stored in the adjoining room’s warehouse.

The collective Spiritual Pressure emanating from the pile of spiritual items alerted Mia, a Transcendent, from over a dozen ters away, stirring up a surge of excitent.

However, the bigger problem was that the warehouse was covered by a Spiritual Wall and an infrared monitoring network.

No matter how one tried to break in, they would imdiately alert the entire Arena.

But that wasn’t even the most difficult part.

According to Aske, the mastermind behind this Arena was a Demigod.

During the current stage of the Magic Tide, Demigods generally refrained from taking action because the Spirituality they consud couldn’t be replenished.

However, once their property was plundered, the Demigod of the Arena would definitely not sit idly by.

At that ti, everyone would have to face the pursuit of a Demigod as well as a citywide manhunt by the Constantinople Church.

This was no laughing matter.

In the ga world of “Iron and Fire” from a previous life, if you provoked a Demigod, you might as well commit suicide quickly.

Otherwise, if you fell into their hands, your account might just get wasted.

thods of causing permanent harm to Transcendents were not lacking for a Demigod.

Mia took a deep breath as she replayed the “strategy” Aske had devised for her in her mind, then she took out the Lock Pick from her bag.

Humans die for wealth, birds die for food.

Here goes nothing!

The Lock Pick slid into the keyhole.

With a couple of skillful twists from Mia, the door opened—and at the sa ti, a piercing alarm sounded, almost startling the entire Arena.

Mia rushed headlong inside, without ti to see what was in the room.

Her Spirituality surged and twirled, teleporting everything she saw to Fire Island.

Cabinets?

Teleportation!

Boxes?

Teleportation!

Stools?

No ti to think, teleportation!

In just five or six seconds, Mia had stripped the entire room bare and then turned to dash out of the warehouse, just as a figure rounded the corner ahead.

The enemy arrived much faster than she had anticipated.

She leapt into the air, curling into a ball mid-flight, and crashed fiercely through the window glass!

The window shattered with a loud bang, and she leaped down from the third floor, not caring about the damage from the moonlight.

In mid-air, she entered the Shadow vision and quickly extended her Spirituality to teleport herself back to Fire Island.

Only “Absurd Dream,” the Divine Artifact Ancient Book, remained in the Shadow vision, falling with a snap into the heap of rubbish below.

The next second, the Arena’s master, Demigod William, appeared on the ground floor with a grim expression.

He extended a hand, and his tangible Spirituality swept rapidly across a several-hundred-ter radius.

No one was there, as expected.

He slowly brought his fingers together, and his Spirituality began scanning the sub-level planes that overlapped with this space, such as the Shadow vision, collective subconscious, and the like.

Although his own Sequence didn’t have these abilities, as a Demigod, he still had a collection of Extraordinary Items for dealing with a variety of situations.

Shadow vision, no one.

Collective subconscious, no one.

How could there be no trace at all?!

William’s expression grew even more overcast as he scanned all over again, unwilling to give in.

There was no trace of a Life Body, no Spiritual Body, no Mind Body in the surrounding sub-level planes; it was as if the thief had never been there.

William continued his futile search, but to no avail.

anwhile, in the vision of the Shadow, an inconspicuous Ancient Book quietly lay in the heap of trash, mingling with other waste paper, plastic water bottles, and worn shoes and socks.

Without focusing one’s Spirituality on it for a ticulous scan, one would never discover that it concealed an entrance to a Half-plane Fragnt.
