259: Chapter 57 Tabor Molecule 259: Chapter 57 Tabor Molecule After finishing the troubleso instance mimicking a play, the three of them began to search the study.

Due to the passage of several centuries, almost all the books on the shelves had decayed, although their hardcovers still looked intact; their pages would crumble into countless small pieces at the slightest touch.

In a drawer of the desk, Miel found the “Luck” Sequence Magic Potion Recipe wrapped in parchnt.

After all, Extraordinary Traits could only replace the main ingredients; supplentary materials had to be prepared anew to make the Magic Potion.

“What a pity,” Eleanor muttered in front of the bookshelf after inspecting it for a mont, “after all the hard work in filming, they could at least have left us a video tape.”

“What, you still want to savor playing Christina and reliving the dramatic feud with Solomon?” Aske joked.

“Truth be told, Squad Leader, your acting was indeed terrible,” Eleanor said, “but didn’t you feel that Miel was a bit…”

“A bit what?” Aske asked knowingly.

“You’re playing dumb,” Eleanor said.

“I think she got too imrsed in her role during the play.”

“It was as if she was really fighting over you with …” she whispered.

“What?” Aske didn’t hear her clearly.

“Never mind!” Eleanor replied irritably.

The three of them thoroughly searched the study, making sure nothing was overlooked, and then left the Underground Opera House.

“Do we need to search the rooms above?” Eleanor asked.

“No need,” Aske said.

In his past life, he had never heard of anything else that could be obtained in the New Swan Castle beyond the basent.

Of course, a simpler logic was that if it wasn’t protected by the Swan Key and a secret door, whatever was there would have been taken long ago during these centuries.

As a result, the group headed back to Mingxing City.

On the way back to the Weisbach Palace, they saw a crowd gathered in the street, with several City Guards organizing the area.

“Uncle John!” Eleanor recognized one of the knights.

“Miss,” Knight Captain John made his way through the crowd, hearing that it was the miss of the Weisbach family, the surrounding civilians respectfully cleared the way.

“What happened up ahead?” Eleanor asked.

“Nothing much, just so troublemakers from the Taboer Sect, they assassinated a rchant right on the street,” John replied.

“We’re cleaning up the scene and will disperse the citizens shortly.”

“What’s the Taboer Sect?” Miel asked curiously.

“Just a bunch of madn,” Eleanor waved dismissively, “not worth ntioning.”

Before she even finished her sentence, her body suddenly jerked backward, her chest had been shot several tis—the shooters were n who suddenly drew handguns from within the crowd.

“Miss!” John roared as he shielded her.

The ferocious City Guards brutally forced their way through the crowd and brought down the gunn.

“I’m okay…” Eleanor wanted to say more but was unceremoniously laid down on a shield by Knight Captain John.

Several guards lifted the shield and rushed towards the hospital like the wind.

“Wait, that…” Aske was about to speak when John interrupted him:

“Were you the miss’s comrades on her adventures before?”

“Yes.”

“Good, I can allow you to accompany her to the hospital,” John said sternly, “but you must hand over your weapons to my n!”

Aske and Miel exchanged glances, clearly because Eleanor’s assassination in the city had already put the senior City Guard on high alert.

“Alright.” Aske nodded, unhooking his Longsword from his waist.

Miel also handed over her rifle, which she carried on her back, to a nearby guard.

“And the knife you wear at your waist,” the guard said seriously, “and the Axe, and the gun in the chest holster, and the Long Spear on your back…

My God, how many weapons do you have on you?”

“Better safe than sorry, haha.

After all, we are professional rcenaries,” Aske said with a laugh, unloading all the visible weapons and handing them to the nearby guard—this included the Short Knife and throwing knives strapped to the inside of his arm, which he just pretended to forget.

The group quickly headed to Maximilian Hospital, just in ti to see Eleanor running out of the ergency ICU, followed by two highly agitated City Guards.

“I told you I’m fine!” Eleanor said angrily.

“Miss, you…” John looked at her incredulously, then turned to the surgery doctor beside them.

“The miss is really alright.” The surgery doctor took off her mask; she was the female dean who had initially recruited Nora, her expression quite incredulous as she said:

“Lord John, the miss was only shot in the chest, but the bullets are embedded in her muscles and did not penetrate deeper to damage the organs.

I must say, Miss Eleanor’s physical condition is stronger than any knight I have ever seen…”

She hinted aningfully, but Knight Captain John didn’t understand the implication and just sighed in relief.

“What about the others who were brought in?” John asked.

“It’s bad.” The dean said, “The assassin took their own life with a bullet.

By the ti they were brought in, it was already too late.

The victim and your brave subordinate are still in critical care.

The forr’s vital signs are very poor, and the chances of saving them don’t look good.

The latter is out of mortal danger, but…”

“But what?”

“Under normal circumstances, it is unlikely they can return to duty after recovery,” the dean responded.

“Damn it!” John punched the wall in frustration.

Eleanor hesitated, as she clearly understood what the dean ant by “normal circumstances”—without using extraordinary power, the hospital’s current dical technology couldn’t provide a thorough recovery treatnt.

However, having Nora, a transcendent healer, changed the situation.

“Squad leader.” Eleanor hesitated, “Could we possibly…”

“Yes.” Aske nodded, “After all, this is your own territory.”

My own territory…

Eleanor couldn’t help but feel a mix of laughter and tears, then pulled Knight Captain John aside.

“Miss, are you really unhard?” Although the doctor had said so, John still found it hard to believe; that was a handgun after all!

Bullets had hit the chest and yet there was not even a scratch?

“I’m fine,” Eleanor said.

“Was your subordinate injured?”

“He was off duty today.

When a radical from the Tabor Sect assaulted soone in the street, he tackled them barehanded,” John sighed.

“When our n arrived, he was still clutching that bastard’s lower leg.”

“My companion might have a way to heal him,” Eleanor said discreetly.

“Your companion?” John glanced unconsciously at Aske and Miel, “But the doctors already said…”

“If it’s the miss’s companion, perhaps their dical skills are indeed much better than ours,” the dean comnted with a smile.

————————

Inside Weisbach Palace.

“His condition is very bad, stabbed 16 tis in the chest and abdon,” Nora checked the unconscious patient and said, “An ergency surgery is needed.”

The so-called ergency surgery was actually to use the extraordinary power of “Life I” to stimulate the growth and differentiation of cells to heal the wounds—an action not convenient to reveal publicly.

Thus, she gestured to Sigrdrifa to push the patient’s bed to the quiet room next door.

“What exactly happened?” Hearing his sister was injured, Ludwig and Henry also hurried over, examining Eleanor for a long ti—until Eleanor scolded both of them sternly.

Only then did the two brothers, fervent in their desire to protect their sister, rember that their sister was now a transcendent.

Bullets from a handgun couldn’t kill her, only causing superficial injuries?

Her Extraordinary Level wasn’t low at all; just her physical power alone was comparable to a seasoned knight.

“Give us the lowdown,” Ludwig pulled Eleanor aside in the corridor, speaking softly, “You’re a transcendent now, aren’t you?”

“Yes,” Eleanor responded reluctantly.

“What about when you get married?” Henry asked with a frown.

“That’s none of your business,” Eleanor replied impatiently.

“Does Aske mind that?” Ludwig asked, frowning.

“Why would the squad leader mind?” Eleanor was montarily puzzled.

Becoming a transcendent would make more suited to be a rcenary, wouldn’t it?

And he’s expecting to level up quickly!

Ludwig and Henry exchanged glances, then walked off arm-in-arm, leaving a confused Eleanor still trying to understand.

“It seems like true love,” Ludwig remarked.

“Father is coming back soon, what do we do?” Henry asked.

“Let’s keep it a secret for now,” Ludwig suggested.
