Chapter 1703: Chapter 1643: Sothing’s Off (Part 2)

“Pfft!” President ng suddenly had the urge to spit blood.

Even if he were wealthier, he knew that the cost of that table wouldn’t be less than a hundred thousand. Enjoying a free one-hundred-thousand al is truly a rare treat, a glorious chapter in one’s life, but that bold stroke of color slipped away just like that.

Hu Pingan chuckled and said, “Haha, President ng, things like this are hard to co by, since the hotel opened, this is the first ti sothing like this has happened, and who knows if it will happen again in the future.”

“Oh…” President ng was hoping that he might have such luck again in the future, but Hu Pingan dashed that thought.

Back in his private room, Kang Xiaohui imdiately approached and said, “President ng, I’ve been waiting for you for ages, co on, let’s keep drinking.”

Looking at Kang Xiaohui, President ng suddenly felt inexplicable anger, snorted, and said, “I’m feeling a bit unwell, I’ll head back first.”

“Ah?” Kang Xiaohui was stunned.

President ng walked over, grabbed his bag, and turned to leave.

“President ng, President ng, we’ve only been drinking for a short while, don’t leave in a hurry, let’s have so more.”

Kang Xiaohui wanted to hold President ng back, but President ng wasn’t in the mood to stay there and left directly.

After seeing President ng off, Kang Xiaohui returned with a gloomy face. President ng’s attitude likely ans there might be issues with the cooperation.

Chapter 1644

In private room number one, the atmosphere is now wonderful.

President ng ca to toast, rekindling hope for collaboration in Wang Cong and Liu Caiyou, and naturally, the mood was no longer dull, conversation flowed easily.

Wang Cong said, “Lanqin, are you really not considering developing here? You’ve also seen President ng’s attitude; we have a strong chance of successful collaboration. If successful, our developnt here will be very promising, and by then you would be a founding mber of the local company—not to ntion the earnings, gaining so original shares wouldn’t be a problem, and when the company goes public, that would be a lot of money.”

Qi Lanqin smiled slightly and said, “Sorry, I can’t co over.”

Wang Cong asked, “Then, Lanqin, what job do you plan to do in the future? You don’t plan on not working, do you? I rember you’re very ambitious, during college, you already had several jobs.”

Qi Lanqin turned to look at Song Xiaodong, her eyes full of affection, and said, “My brother and I have so things to do, I’ll be working with my brother.”

Zhao Fei’er asked puzzledly, “Isn’t your brother a university professor? What work do you need to do?”

Qi Lanqin froze, only realizing her slip, and she wasn’t skilled at lying. She looked at Song Xiaodong for help.

Song Xiaodong smiled slightly and said, “Although my main job is a university professor, I also run a little side business. Since I’m busy with classes at the university, I don’t have ti to take care of the other business, so Lanqin and Kexin help out.”

“Oh? What business are you in?” Wang Cong imdiately pursued.

Song Xiaodong said, “Just so miscellaneous little businesses.”

Seeing that Song Xiaodong preferred not to elaborate, Wang Cong and Liu Caiyou subconsciously assud that Song Xiaodong’s business wasn’t particularly large and he felt too embarrassed to talk about it.

Wang Cong chuckled and said, “Working with your cousin sure is convenient, but it also has so drawbacks, as so things can’t be fully realized. If possible, I still hope you’d consider working with us here. Haha, I’m not trying to poach, just speaking my true feelings.”

Qi Lanqin nodded and said, “No worries, my brother isn’t stingy, and I appreciate your kindness. We’ll see if there’s an opportunity in the future.”

Everyone could hear the evasion in Qi Lanqin’s words, and Wang Cong understood he couldn’t press further.

“By the way, Lanqin, do you have any plans for tomorrow? Would you like

to take you around?” asked Zhao Fei’er.

Song Xiaodong said, “That’s a good idea, I’m busy tomorrow, you all should go out together.”

Qi Lanqin nodded and said, “Sure, Kexin and I will go out with Fei’er tomorrow.”

The dinner lasted a bit longer, aside from Qi Lanqin and Zhao Fei’er catching up, the main reason was everyone couldn’t bear to waste the dishes.

After dinner, Wang Cong and the others were genuinely anxious, fearing the wait staff would ask them to pay. But as the staff escorted them out, there wasn’t even a hint of charging.

Once outside the hotel doors, everyone heaved a sigh of relief, Zhao Fei’er patting her chest said, “Eating today was like a dream.”

Qi Lanqin chuckled lightly and said, “The main thing is we had a great chat.”

“It’s still early, Lanqin, shall we find a place to sing?” Wang Cong proposed.

Zhao Fei’er imdiately said, “Yeah, let’s go chat more. I felt so uneasy during dinner, a lot wasn’t talked about. Let’s go sing and chat.”

Zhao Fei’er’s enthusiasm made it hard for Qi Lanqin to refuse, and she did want to chat more with Zhao Fei’er, just unsure if Song Xiaodong had plans.

Song Xiaodong smiled and said, “Let’s go for so singing, perfect for relaxing.”

Zhao Fei’er and the others were overjoyed, Wang Cong hurriedly said, “Caiyou, you and Fei’er grab a cab, I’ll drive them over, to the karaoke bar we usually go to.”

Song Xiaodong said, “We have a car, no need to trouble you.”

“You have a car? Didn’t you just arrive?” Wang Cong asked, puzzled.

Song Xiaodong smiled slightly and said, “Renting a car isn’t hard, right?”

Wang Cong laughed and said, “You’re right, we rented a car too.”

Wang Cong’s car led the way, and Song Xiaodong’s car followed.

In the car, Liu Caiyou suddenly said, “Wang Cong, Fei’er, don’t you think there’s sothing off about Lanqin and them?”

“What’s off?” Zhao Fei’er asked, puzzled.

Liu Caiyou scratched his head and said, “They seem… seem… right, they seem too calm, throughout entering, during the service, and dinner they remained calm, never worried.”

Wang Cong hesitated and said, “That does seem so, they haven’t shown surprise, despite the lavish setting, dishes, and price, they’ve been unfazed.”

Zhao Fei’er rolled her eyes at the two and said, “So you think Lanqin and the others are so high-profile people, accustod to such settings? You know their situation, don’t use novel scenarios as reference, rember how malnourished Lanqin once was, it’s not invisible.”

Wang Cong and Liu Caiyou recalled Qi Lanqin then; a genuinely pretty face but lacking vitality, a frail body, als were often a bun with hot water, no rich kid would endure such hardship.

With a frown, Liu Caiyou said, “Then what’s with their behavior today?”

Zhao Fei’er said, “Simple, they knew the al was free, no psychological burden, while we feared losing President ng’s deal and worried about getting charged, they had none of that concern.”

Wang Cong nodded and said, “You’re right, we overthought. Even if Lanqin’s cousin has influence, it’s unlikely it’s vast, given his age.”

Zhao Fei’er said, “Don’t overthink, tomorrow I’m taking Lanqin shopping, I’ll ask then. If she has sothing going on, she’ll tell —don’t forget, we’re good friends.”
