Chapter 82: felt guilty

Upon arriving ho, Valerie saw Elena playing with Daniel on the shaggy carpet, while Damian lay on the sofa, his gaze fixed on his phone, seemingly ignoring her presence.

She remained silent, thinking that perhaps he wasn’t interested in pursuing her anymore and might be communicating with Clara or another girl.

’Maybe he can never change,’ she thought

"Valerie..." Elena stood up, leaving Daniel to play alone. "I think we need to talk..."

Valerie remained silent, walking straight to the living room and sitting on the sofa, her face folded in, unable to hide her disappointnt.

"I don’t want to ddle in your relationships," Elena said, sitting next to Valerie. "But please, try not to argue all the ti... You’re adults now, you even have a baby... It would be terrible if the baby knew you were arguing... It could hurt him psychologically," she continued with a worried look.

"I don’t want to argue, but Damian started it," Valerie replied without looking up.

"I know, and that can’t be changed now... that it’s happened. But after this, please try not to argue anymore... Resolve your issues in a better way, and talk calmly... Try to find good solutions for both of you..."

"I’ve offered solutions, but he won’t accept..."

Elena sighed. "I respect your decision, and maybe Damian will try to accept it."

"He won’t."

"He will... He will accept your decision," Elena said sowhat firmly.

Valerie felt anxious, suddenly feeling sothing missing and imagining the sweet monts she had with Damian as if she didn’t want them to end, but she couldn’t endure it because the problems kept coming.

"He’ll only co here for Daniel... He won’t bother you, he won’t force you to accept him... The most important thing is that you never leave or reject anything we give to Daniel. We just want the best for Daniel... If you choose to leave, it’s selfish of you... All thoughts should be focused on Daniel if you want to be a good mother," Elena said before standing up. "I’ll ask Damian to leave," she continued, then walked towards the family room.

Valerie froze, her gaze empty, feeling afraid, as if she were losing the kind of Elena she used to be.

’Is she disappointed in

too because I defended Tristan in front of Damian? Did she see what happened in the yard? But is it wrong... he’s hurt because of Damian...’ Valerie was confused, then glanced at Damian and Elena leaving the family room without even looking at her, making her instantly feel hurt, and shattered, even her eyes began to well up. ’No... I mustn’t be sad... This is what I wanted... I’ll be fine, my decision was right... I’ll be fine,’ she thought to herself as she wiped her eyes before the tears could wet her cheeks.

Daniel hurried towards the door, carrying a dium-sized robot.

"Dada..."

Valerie quickly followed Daniel and stopped him in front of the door, squatting down and hugging him from behind.

"I want to go with grandma and Dada," Daniel said with his cute voice and teary eyes looking at his father entering the car with his grandmother.

Valerie felt even sadder, then lifted Daniel and kissed him. "It’s okay, you can go with them soday."

"I want to play with them..."

"Yes... You’ll play with them again."

"With Mama too." Daniel looked at Valerie hopefully.

Valerie just smiled and nodded, then hugged Daniel’s head. She cried, glancing at their car slowly getting farther away.

’Am I being cruel now? Am I too selfish for not wanting to accept him anymore and finally hurting Daniel? If he could change and there were no more obstacles to our relationship, it would be very easy for

to accept him,’ she thought, filled with longing for the harmony she had with Damian and his family when they were still engaged, wondering if monts like that would ever co again one day.

...

Damian drove his car with a straight gaze, so cold, as if holding back his anger.

"You shouldn’t have beaten that guy or forced Valerie to marry you tonight," Elena said worriedly, leaning her head on the seat. "You always can’t control your emotions... You’re making things worse again," she continued, massaging her temples.

"She started it, and she still doesn’t trust

even though I’ve explained everything... She makes

feel like I’m always wrong," Damian replied curtly. "She said she was deeply hurt knowing I was with Clara... Whatever I did with Clara was a mistake. Even though I was just helping her that day, it was also my fault. She said it was still wrong... She said I reopened her old wounds... I’m so confused. So I thought I should just marry her regardless of other problems," he continued.

"Marriage should be done with sacredness and willingness, you can’t force it..."

"We still love each other, we’ll be happy to get married... She’s stalling, asking

to resolve my issues, but when other problems arise, suddenly she cancels our plans. It annoys ... She can change in an instant even though logically she knows I was trapped... She knows what happened between

and Clara at the office and in the apartnt was a trap!" Damian explained angrily, even speeding up his car.

Elena imdiately grabbed onto the handle above her and then glanced at Damian who looked tense. "Are you trying to commit suicide? Slow down!"

Damian remained silent, but slowly reduced the speed of his car.

"Whatever your reasons are, you should never force her to marry you. She has trauma, you have to understand that. The discussion about Clara is very sensitive for your relationship!" Elena said angrily. "She could have let you continue your relationship with Karina until you had the chance to leave her, but she can’t accept you eting Clara even once... She’s hurt because of that past... Clara is a red flag for your relationship!"

"I didn’t expect her to co..."

"You don’t need to think about Karina anymore, now you’ll deal with your problem with Valerie especially making Clara admit that she did trap you!" Elena exclaid, then sighed, seeming nauseous. "Rember, you’re solving this problem not just to prove your love for Valerie, but also for Daniel."

Damian remained silent, suddenly picturing Daniel’s cute face.

"I’m sure when Valerie is sad, then Daniel is also sad, not getting attention from her," Elena said worriedly.

"I know, I’ll fix everything," Damian replied, recalling Jerry’s plan. ’What Clara did was almost like two years ago when she seduced ... Could it be that she didn’t just want to have sex with

at that ti, but soone told her to... And maybe that person is the one who told her to et

a few days ago. But who? Could it be my father?’ he wondered, filled with doubt when rembering his father’s kindness to Valerie before their marriage was annulled
