Chapter 79: Trust

Valerie sat on the terrace with Daniel, gazing at the scattered stars in the sky, making it look beautiful and lively.

Occasionally, Daniel yawned, unable to hide his drowsiness but trying to stay awake because he loved the stars too much.

"Dada..."

His attention shifted to the car entering the yard. "Dada... That’s dada!" He imdiately jumped off his mother’s lap and ran towards the car.

"Daniel..." Valerie quickly followed Daniel with annoyance, her gaze fixed on Damian getting out of the car with his mother. ’What is this? Did he deliberately co with his mother to prevent

from getting angry at him? I guess nothing will change! A scoundrel remains a scoundrel?’ she muttered irritably to herself.

"Hey, Dude..." Damian imdiately picked up Daniel, then kissed his cheek. "I miss you so much!"

Daniel hugged his father’s head with a smile. "Miss you!"

"Grandma has a robot for you," Elena said, pointing to a blue box with a transparent front showing the inside, which was a small robot.

"Robot!" Daniel imdiately leaned towards Elena.

Damian let Daniel be imdiately carried by his mother, then took him ho while he dealt with Valerie not entering the house.

"I guess you ca with your mother to avoid my anger," Valerie said with a flat gaze. "Maybe Hannah has already told you... Or maybe you still don’t realize your mistake... Or maybe you think it’s not a mistake. But I don’t care anymore about that," she continued, crossing her arms, and looking towards Tristan’s rented house.

"What are you looking at?" Damian asked.

"You know..."

"I don’t know... Let

see now, show ," Damian asked.

Valerie looked back at Damian, her emotions rising instantly as if she wanted to slap him but tried to restrain herself.

"I’m glad you ca with your mother because it makes

not want to waste my energy being angry," she said with a determined gaze. "I don’t have the right to be angry... I don’t have the right to force you to only want . Even what happened two years ago showed that you wanted her... That hasn’t changed until now!"

"No, I didn’t want her..." Damian shook his head calmly. "I just wanted to know about that photo because I haven’t been with her again except after that bachelor party and a few days ago..."

"You admitted it..." Valerie smiled thinly.

"Yes... I was with her a few days ago, she ca to the office to apologize to . But I was angry, and dragged her out of my room but eventually she fell and bled after hitting the secretary’s desk," Damian explained calmly. "After that, I took her to the health room... She got treatnt, and then we argued again. She was feeling dizzy, so I asked her to rest, but she asked

to take her back to her apartnt... So I did... I took her to her apartnt," he continued in such detail.

"Nonsense!" Valerie retorted curtly.

"Why? I’m telling the truth. You can even ask my secretary because she knows what happened."

"But she doesn’t know what happened between you and Clara when you were in her apartnt... You must have taken advantage of the situation to... To have sex with her!" Valerie said bitterly, turning her face away, her breath seed choked by emotion, the shadow of past betrayal haunting her thoughts again, heating her emotional state.

"We didn’t do anything... I took her to her room because she was so dizzy..."

"That still ans you took the opportunity to get close to her!" Valerie looked back at Damian with annoyance. "You could have asked the office driver to take her back to her apartnt... But you chose to take her because it might seem more appealing After not seeing each other for so long, you wanted to reminisce..."

"That’s not true at all!" Damian interrupted Valerie. "I took her because I felt responsible... I’m the one who hurt her... I didn’t think what happened to her was a sham because I saw her head was bleeding... And my reliable doctor examined her... I may be bad, but I won’t shirk responsibility... I may hate her, but I can’t let her suffer because of ... I don’t want to be the cause of soone’s suffering..."

"Nonsense, all of this is nonsense!" Valerie exclaid, pointing at Damian. "If you truly regret what you did with her, you would never want to talk to her again, you wouldn’t want to see her face again... You could just leave when you knew she was in your room!"

Damian shook his head, looking at Valerie with fear.

"I can’t accept this, you never change... You can’t avoid her!" Valerie exclaid with frustration. "I can’t be with you anymore... I can’t!" she continued firmly, then turned her face away while wiping away her tears that flowed effortlessly, as if it was difficult to make that decision too.

"Darling..." Damian reached for Valerie’s hand but was imdiately avoided.

"We will never end, our relationship will never end... Especially not because of this issue... You should realize that this is a trap!" Damian insisted with frustration. "Of course, whoever sent you that photo probably wants our relationship to end... Maybe she asked Clara to co to

again and then set up a plan to make it seem like I’m close to her and then take a picture... This is a trap... This is to test the strength of our love..."

Valerie fell silent, unable to deny that what Damian said made sense.

"I just want you..." Damian reached for Valerie’s hand again but once again was avoided.

"Don’t touch

with your dirty hands!" Valerie asserted with wide eyes. "Whatever you say, it can’t erase the bitter mories that I find so hard to forget. I tried to forget it, but today you reminded

of it again by showing your concern for her... If it is indeed out of responsibility to her, I still don’t like it... It hurts... Seeing you with her is a wound for ... Don’t you understand that?" She expressed her frustration until her sobs broke out.

Damian fell silent with a sad feeling, unable to bear seeing Valerie’s tears.

"It’s not about what you two did, but when you t her or even talked to her... It brought

back to old wounds. I’m scared... I’m afraid... I can’t handle being betrayed again!" Valerie exclaid.

"Who would betray you, Darling?" Damian asked softly. "I wouldn’t do it..."

"I don’t believe you!"

"But I don’t want to do it, I won’t betray you!"

Valerie wiped her tears, looking in any direction while rembering what had happened recently.

"This is very difficult. I have to let you be with Karina, then you are also with Clara... It’s like I have to share you with them," she said.

"I’m yours, you’re not sharing

with anyone," Damian replied anxiously. "Even if you’re not sure about it, I’ll convince you by marrying you right now... I’ll do it..." He imdiately grabbed Valerie’s hand and then dragged her to the car.

"Damian!" Valerie pulled her hand away, also releasing Damian’s grip.
