"Knock knock"
Penny frowned when the door kept knocking. She had already turned and covered her head with a pillow. But the incessant knocking did not stop. Most of the ti when she did not respond, the maids did not dare to knock again. What changed today?
Penny frowned. Without opening her eyes, she touched the table near her. With her hands, she traced the objects and when she reached for the vase, she held it tightly in her hands and threw it on the door.
The vase crashed on the door. It's shards falling all over the floor. She smirked when she did not hear the knock again. And slowly moved the pillow from her face. How dare they think that they held the authority.
She tossed on the bed and rubbed her face on the pillow when she heard footsteps in her room. She frowned and forced her eyes to open. Her face was already red with rage.
"How dare..." she paused and looked at the three people in confusion. There was her father, a man holding a briefcase and a young man. She felt that she had seen the young man sowhere.
He looked extrely handso. She smiled at him for a second forgetting that she was still in her nightgown and she had a drool on her chin.
"Why are you sleeping here Penny? This is your sister's room." Penny frowned. Her muddle headed brain was still in a dazed state from the night sleep. She looked at her father in confusion.
"Father, did you forget sothing? This room belongs to only . Nora lives in the.." but she paused when she noticed the intensifying glare of her father. It paused her and then she looked at the other two n again. She did not know what was happening, but she was sure sothing was amiss.
Why were there n in her room? "Other room?" her father's expression went better hearing her reply and he nodded with a serious face.
"Then I must have made a mistake. It was a waste to disturb your sleep."He already looked at the other two n to take them out of the room. He was relieved that Nora was on the bed here.
He would show them a few rooms then make an excuse that she had gone for a walk or run. Or anything and get rid of them.
His bloodshot eyes and dizzy state was not letting him think well anyways. He was busy all night trying to convince Benard with good offers. But he found nothing worth giving.
"Ah, then we will gland check the other room, thank you sweetheart." he already turned and took a few steps back when his daughter nodded but the other two n did not follow him. They stood at their position and stared at the girl who blinked cutely.
"Is there a problem?" David asked in an irked voice, trying his best to hide his irritation.
The doctor was the first to turn to look at David.
"I treated her only yesterday. I am sure this was the room where i have seen her.'' As he said so, he took a step forward and looked around as if he was trying to rember and when his eyes fell on the door that led to the washroom, he nodded his head.
"Yes, I am sure this is the one." David gritted his teeth. He had enough of this nonsense early in the morning.
"Just because you have checked her in this room does not an it is her room. My daughters are close so they use each other's room sotis." she spoke in an irked voice, showing his displeasure again and again. But the two n feigned ignorance against it.
Penny nodded her head too. "She must have been taking a bath here since her room's toilet is under repair. I am sure she would be sleeping in her room if you go and check." she urged as she stole a look on the ground.
Nora was still where she had been kicked last night by Penny. As long as the girl did not make a sound, she would get rid of these people.
Though Penny was curious of their identity, she could feel that her father was irked by their presence and the way they asked for Nora in a protective way, Penny felt like she was humiliated.
The doctor looked at Alric as if waiting for his thoughts when the young man shrugged and turned to leave with David. The doctors did not want to leave. With reluctance, he gazed at the room once more.
But before he turned, he made a strong sound and paused. It felt like sothing fell but Penny had not moved from her place on the bed. Her face looked mortified and she was forcing a smile on her face when they looked at her.
"What was that?" asked the doctor, taking two steps forward, making her frown.
"What was what? I do not understand you." She feigned ignorance and held the sheets tightly, "I am still in my nightgown, I hope you will keep your distance." she pouted and spoke in a panicked voice. Her father gritted his teeth too.
"Doctor Sullivan, i can ot understand you. You barged into our house in the morning with a stranger saying you want to check up on my niece. I would have still accepted it but now you have forced your way in my daughter's room when she was sleeping and harassing her.
If i complain about it, your license could be canceled.'' The threat did not go unnoticed by the doctor. He paused at his place, feeling insulted but when he rembered the ashen face of another girl, he gritted his teeth.
"We have been knocking for half an hour, sir. All I want is to see the patient. I do not understand why your family is stopping from doing that? And... What kind of voice was that?" Before David could threaten the doctor again, another scream was heard as if soone was in extre pain.
"Aahh, ouch."
