Kabedon~

The so-called kabedon, or wall-pinning, is a common action seen in ani, gas, and television dramas.

By utilizing a wall, their arms, and their body, a boy can artificially create an inescapable domain to trap the other person, instantly closing the distance between them.

When there is a noticeable difference in physique between the two individuals, the effect of the kabedon is greatly amplified.

Take this mont, for example. Whether in terms of height or body size, Yan Huan held an absolute advantage over Bai Yi.

As a result, Bai Yi, who was currently pinned against the wall by Yan Huan, found her entire body enveloped in his shadow. It felt as though she had been locked inside a cage thoroughly saturated with his presence.

"Thump!"

"Eh? Ah?!"

The sound of his palm striking the wall resonated in Bai Yi's ears like a large bell. With her face entirely flushed, she had no choice but to tilt her head up and look at Yan Huan, who was standing re inches away.

She noticed that he was also experiencing a shortness of breath, his gaze fixed directly upon her.

'T-Too close!'

At this mont, Yan Huan's gaze seed to carry a scorching heat. rely making eye contact with him felt like it would burn her.

Therefore, Bai Yi shyly averted her eyes, trying to avoid his almost tangible stare, yet her face remained reluctantly turned toward him.

'His kabedon posture, looking as if he's afraid I might run away...'

'That unwavering gaze of his, so captivated by that he can't bear to look away...'

'Coupled with that incredibly innocent, nervous expression of soone experiencing their first ti in love...'

'I-Is he really going to confess to ?!'

With these thoughts swirling in her mind, the blush on Bai Yi's face beca even more prominent, so deep that even her light makeup could no longer conceal it.

"Thump... thump... thump..."

'My heart is beating so fast...'

'Honestly, trying to confess to right now is way too cunning!'

'Even though...'

'Even though there should be a much better occasion for this. At the very least, shouldn't there be a bit more of a ceremonial feel to it?'

'For example, at the High Table Dinner ball. After presenting flowers to invite , he could confess right at the end of our dance under the watchful eyes of the entire crowd...'

'So, should I accept him right now or not?'

'It would be such a sha to just say yes right away...'

'But if I don't accept him and just make up so random excuse to reject him...'

'Wouldn't that hurt his feelings too much?'

'What if he thinks I don't like him, becos disheartened, and ends up getting snatched away by all those other girls watching him with predatory intensity...?'

'That would be a huge problem!'

'Ahhhh, damn it, what am I supposed to do?!'

Bai Yi's mind was a tangled ss. Her expression was so conflicted that she looked neither completely happy nor truly upset.

Compared to her complex thoughts, Yan Huan's inner state was much simpler.

He had successfully blocked any movent Bai Yi might make to turn her head and look toward the opposite building. Simultaneously, after nervously confirming that she wasn't showing the slightest hint of suspicion, he finally let out a sigh of relief.

'It's safe...'

'My lifelong reputation.'

"Bai Yi..."

However, just as he was about to release the hand pinning her to the wall and say sothing...

Perched on his shoulder, Myau-chan, who had been staring intently at the building opposite them, suddenly patted his cheek nervously with its paw pads.

"Yan Huan, look quickly! Sothing is happening over by Sakuramiya Hitomi, ow!"

'Huh?'

He subconsciously wanted to look up at the opposite building. But at that sa mont, Bai Yi had also heard him call her na and raised her head slightly.

Sensing Bai Yi looking up at him, Yan Huan hastily lowered his head again, locking eyes with her.

She seed to want to appear more confident and composed, not wanting to show any weakness in front of him.

But a young girl would inevitably feel shy when faced with soone she liked.

The way her fingers twitched, her wavering gaze, and her trembling words—all served as proof of this.

"Mhm..."

So, biting her lip, she simply averted her eyes and gave a coquettish response.

This level of shyness, combined with her breathtakingly beautiful face, acted like a fatal strike, causing even Yan Huan to freeze in a daze.

But right now, his mind was deeply concerned with what exactly Myau-chan had seen. He could only anxiously instruct it in his heart,

'Just tell directly what you see. Bai Yi is right in front of , I can't expose myself!'

He intended to replicate the multi-threading strategy he had used previously in Sakura Country.

Having done it several tis in a row, he was already thoroughly familiar with the route.

Only this ti, his "Pokémon", Myau-chan, unsurprisingly made a mistake.

"But I... I can't see clearly, ow! I'm not wearing your spectacles, so I can only tell that Sakuramiya Hitomi is over there, but I can't see exactly what she's doing, ow!"

Hearing this, Yan Huan's expression instantly darkened.

Right. He really had forgotten about that.

From this distance, soone with normal vision would only be able to faintly recognize the person in the opposite building as Sakuramiya Hitomi. After all, her gradient-colored hair was simply too iconic.

If he wanted to gather more information, Yan Huan, wearing his enhanced spectacles, would truly have to look with his own eyes.

'But Myau-chan, aren't you a deity?'

'Why is your eyesight shared with a regular cat?!'

"..."

'Damn it, I'll just have to do it myself!'

'I need to find a random topic to hold Bai Yi steady first...'

"Bai Yi, there's sothing I want to tell you..."

'It's coming!'

"Mhm..."

As soon as she heard those words, Bai Yi imdiately clutched her chest, lowering her head slightly in sheer nervousness.

Seeing her avert her gaze, Yan Huan imdiately seized the opportunity to look up at the building across from them.

Through the spectacles resting on his face, Yan Huan's vision—buffed to its absolute limit—instantly clarified the situation over there.

Sure enough, just as Myau-chan had said, sothing was indeed happening.

He saw that after changing into her outfit, Sakuramiya Hitomi hadn't imdiately begun her archery practice. Instead, she had pulled out...

A katana?

'??'

Watching Sakuramiya Hitomi expertly grip the hilt with both hands and perform a few practice swings, Yan Huan couldn't help but furrow his brows.

But it didn't end there. As if rely testing the weight and feel of the weapon, she put the long sword down and pulled out a wakizashi.

This was followed by a jumonji yari, a naginata, and an arquebus...

Finally, out ca a pink chainsaw.

Seeing the petite Sakuramiya Hitomi hoist a chainsaw into the air with both hands, Yan Huan's eyes went completely wide.

'This aesthetic is completely wrong...'

'Sakuramiya, aren't you supposed to be an elegant, noble Eldest Miss? When did you turn into a yakuza princess?'

Yan Huan was genuinely terrified that if he kept watching, Sakuramiya Hitomi might strip off her top to reveal a full sleeve of tattoos on her right arm.

That was point number one.

Point number two: Where on earth did Sakuramiya pull all those weapons from?

The Archery Club wouldn't store items like those, and it was impossible for Sakuramiya to carry them around with her, hiding them under so fourth-dinsional skirt.

The only possibility was: her Room Barrier.

However, Yan Huan had entered her barrier before. He knew that once its effects were activated, the view from the windows would turn pitch black, completely isolating the inside from the outside.

The fact that he could secretly observe her right now ant her barrier hadn't covered the Archery Club's room at all.

'So how did Sakuramiya conjure all of that?'

Yan Huan was completely baffled.

'There are more and more mysteries surrounding Sakuramiya...'

"Um... Yan... Yan Huan, I... I know what you're trying to say, but..."

At that mont, the shy voice of Bai Yi, still trapped in his arms, suddenly broke through his thoughts.

Yan Huan looked down, only to see her with a completely red face, biting her finger as if she were carefully deliberating over every single word she was about to speak.

But simply because she was far too nervous and shy, she didn't dare lift her head to look at him.

'You're a lifesaver, Bai Yi!'

Thus, he continued to secretly watch Sakuramiya Hitomi across the way, while seemingly remaining wholly focused on conversing with Bai Yi.

"But?"

"I-It's just that..."

Her heart racing, the conflicted Bai Yi chewed on her finger, unable to form the perfect sentence. She then resorted to twirling a lock of black hair around her finger...

While continuously fiddling with her hair, she softly explained,

"I just feel like today is a bit too... too sudden..."

"I see..."

Yan Huan kept his eyes locked on Sakuramiya Hitomi across from them, relying entirely on pure instinct to respond to Bai Yi.

But it was as if he possessed an innate talent for this. Even though he was absent-minded and replying purely on feeling, he still managed to maintain a coherent conversation with her.

In fact, Bai Yi even detected a hint of disappointnt in his tone.

Instantly, this triggered her deepest fear.

'Saying it like that really did break his heart, ahhhhh!!'

'Actually, if I think about it carefully, Yan Huan is just a Chu Nan who has never been in a romantic relationship before. How could he understand all these twists and turns? He only knows how to clumsily express his feelings.'

'He definitely decided to ask for a proper status because of that kiss earlier, because of his sincere heart and genuine feelings for ...'

'He must have summoned a trendous amount of courage just now to finally confess to !'

'But now, I'm just...'

'Ah, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...'

'I didn't an to! Please don't see as a bad woman playing with your feelings!!'

'If you end up throwing yourself into the arms of actual bad won because of this, then everything will be ruined!!'

Bai Yi was suddenly gripped by panic. Pursing her lips, she decided to throw caution to the wind.

"Yan Huan, p-please don't misunderstand. I didn't an it like that..."

Disregarding her imnse shyness, she gently grabbed Yan Huan's clothes and prepared to look up to make eye contact with him. Only by doing so could she properly convey her good intentions and ensure he didn't misunderstand.

Yan Huan hadn't anticipated her sudden movent.

By the ti he felt her tugging at his clothes, it was already a bit too late.

'Not good, I'm going to be exposed!'

Consequently, Yan Huan's pupils shrank slightly, and he imdiately struck preemptively.

"Thump!!"

Before Bai Yi could clearly register his gaze, he thrust out his right hand once more, pinning her to the wall for a second ti with a loud thump. "Wah!!"

Bai Yi instantly squeezed her eyes shut in panic, losing the perfect opportunity to discover that he had been secretly watching the building across from them.

Taking advantage of the mont, Yan Huan finally retracted his gaze.

Although he had no idea what the Bai Yi was currently talking about, he wasn't stupid—he could clearly see her anxiety.

'So, right now, all I need to do is ease her nerves and get her back to the state she was in earlier...'

"Thump... thump... thump..."

Bai Yi's little heart accelerated once more. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly. By the ti she opened her eyes again, what greeted her was Yan Huan, gazing at her with complete, undivided attention.

She watched as he offered a faint smile and spoke to her with incredible patience.

"How could I possibly misunderstand? Thinking about it carefully, it really is my fault for making you feel overwheld and acting so suddenly...

"I should have waited for a more appropriate ti—a ti that you, Bai Yi, feel is truly right."

Bai Yi stared blankly at Yan Huan's smile, feeling as though it were about to siphon her very soul away.

A profound sense of relief, as if receiving a general pardon, washed over her, rapidly followed by an endless, overwhelming surge of affection.

That intense fluttering of her heart even made her legs grow weak, leaving her feeling as though she were about to completely succumb and collapse within the cage his body had built around her.

Yet, Bai Yi sohow managed to support herself, avoiding making a fool of herself.

Panting slightly, she clutched her chest once more, lowered her head, and revealed a breathtakingly beautiful smile as she murmured,

"Th-Thank goodness... Thank you, Yan Huan. If you had genuinely misunderstood, I really wouldn't know what to do..."

Just as Yan Huan was about to reply, Myau-chan's voice rang out again,

"Yan Huan, Sakuramiya Hitomi is making another move over there, ow!"

Since Bai Yi currently had her head lowered, Yan Huan took the cue to quietly lift his eyes and look across once more.

Inside the dojo, the various weapons Sakuramiya Hitomi had pulled out earlier had already vanished without a trace, as if they had never existed in the first place.

Imdiately following that, Yan Huan saw Sakuramiya Hitomi withdraw an unfurled scroll from her bosom...

Its surface was densely packed with writing. However, precisely because of this dense concentration, Yan Huan couldn't discern a single word.

All he could make out was that Sakuramiya Hitomi had sohow produced a calligraphy brush dipped in red ink, and she was drawing circles on several spots across the scroll...

'What is that?'

Its design was simply too unique. After all, nobody in the modern era still used sothing like a scroll, so it instantly captured Yan Huan's full attention.

His intuition told him that the item was undoubtedly of great importance.

'What exactly is written on it?'

Yan Huan narrowed his eyes, subconsciously trying to lean in closer to carefully scrutinize its contents.

But let's not forget, at this very mont, Bai Yi was still standing in his arms.

As a result, Bai Yi felt Yan Huan's body suddenly press even closer to hers!

'Is this...'

'Is he asking for a hug?'

Bai Yi pursed her lips, and then gently opened her arms, choosing not to reject him.

Feeling Yan Huan's scorching body heat gradually pressing against her, her entire body went weak and numb. Following that, her starry eyes lit up with the elation of having discovered a new continent.

'Just as I thought...'

'Being embraced feels so incredibly comfortable...'

"Mhm..."

anwhile, Yan Huan could finally make out a tiny fraction of the contents on the scroll in Sakuramiya Hitomi's hands!

He saw irregular rectangular grids haphazardly stacked together.

It resembled a honeycomb ford by piecing together regular pentagons, except the "honeycomb" on this scroll was composed entirely of uneven and jagged rectangles.

So of the rectangles contained text, but the writing was far too small for Yan Huan to decipher, no matter how hard he strained his eyes.

Within a few specific rectangles, Sakuramiya Hitomi had drawn a circle using the red pen.

Every single grid that had been circled in red contained text.

From what he could vaguely perceive, there were already over a dozen red circles.

However, compared to the sheer size of the massive "honeycomb", it was still rely a tiny fraction.

'What in the world... is that thing?'

Yan Huan furrowed his brows, desperate to see even more.

Just then, Bai Yi whimpered softly in his arms, suddenly snapping back to reality from Yan Huan's haven of comfort and pleasure.

'That's right!'

She had rembered her actual purpose for being here!

She had co to sound Yan Huan out regarding the High Table Dinner ball!

"By the way, Yan Huan..."

Thus, she struggled to lift her dizzy, intoxicated head from the warmth of his embrace.

Feeling the small head in his arms preparing to gaze up at him, Yan Huan's pupils constricted.

Yet right at this very mont, he had finally caught sight of the crucial details. He couldn't bear to avert his eyes now.

Gritting his teeth, he maintained his posture of staring into the distance, but he leaned his face down right next to her ear...

The skin of their cheeks was re inches apart.

Yan Huan could even feel the sensation of a few of her fine strands of hair teasing his Adam's apple.

Moreover, on Bai Yi's body...

There was an incredibly fragrant scent.

'Is it skincare products? Perfu? Or is it...'

Yan Huan couldn't tell. He could only nervously absorb the information from the distance while speaking right beside her earlobe in an almost pleading tone,

"Just stay like this for a little longer... Don't say anything, just... for a little while, okay, Bai Yi?"

"Mhm..."

That single sentence completely blew Bai Yi's mind away.

She bit her lip, her entire body lting into a puddle of absolute bliss.

Her eyes, previously sparkling with starlight, were now rippling with a watery mist.

"Thump... thump... thump..."

A tingling sensation akin to an electric shock surged through her entire body, prompting her to tremblingly and proactively wrap her arms around Yan Huan's waist.

"O-Okay..."

Bai Yi beca utterly docile, remaining perfectly motionless.

anwhile, Yan Huan finally managed to perceive more information.

As established earlier, not every single one of those grids contained words. The vast majority were completely blank.

And just like playing Minesweeper, as soon as Sakuramiya Hitomi drew a circle around one of the grids with text using her red pen...

Several grids not far from that specific one spontaneously generated text out of thin air!

As for Sakuramiya Hitomi, she simply gripped the red pen and stared at the newly manifested text in those adjacent grids, lost in her own thoughts.

"..."

After a long silence, she abruptly rolled the scroll back up.

She lowered her hand slightly. By the ti she raised it again, the scroll, much like the other weapons, had vanished, utterly elusive.

Following that, Sakuramiya Hitomi acted as if nothing had happened. She turned around, retrieved the bow and arrows used for practice in the Archery Club, and began her training regin...

"..."

Yan Huan retracted his gaze with a frown. He ntally organized all the information he had just obtained, yet he still couldn't reach a concrete conclusion.

'How did Sakuramiya retrieve all those items without activating her barrier?'

'What is that scroll, and what was written on it?'

Yan Huan didn't know the answer to any of these questions.

But deep down, he was growing increasingly convinced that this Sakuramiya was absolutely not the Sakuramiya he used to know...

With that thought, Yan Huan took a deep breath and finally brought his full attention back.

Simultaneously, he slowly released his grip on Bai Yi.

"Whimper~"

The mont he let go, he saw Bai Yi slump dizzily against the wall. Her entire deanor was as if she had been placed under a profound enchantnt, completely dazed and disoriented...

Clearly, even though Yan Huan had been distracted, his earlier series of actions had dealt a critical hit, outright sinking the "SS Bai Yi".

At this very mont, her mind was practically looping wedding songs, alongside visions of a happy life as a family of three in the future...

However, from the outside, Yan Huan had no idea what was going on in her head. He almost hallucinated Bai Yi saying,

"I... I can't take it anymore, Yan Huan..."

"..."

Consequently, Yan Huan swallowed a mouthful of saliva and asked with deep concern,

"B-Bai Yi? Are you alright?"

"Wah! I... I'm fine... I just want... want to rest for a bit..."

Bai Yi currently resembled a heavily intoxicated drunkard. Only, what had intoxicated her wasn't alcohol, but an elixir nad "love".

Her heartbeat was practically transforming into the "Emperor Engine".

"Alright. Do you need to help you back to your classroom?"

"No need! I... I'll just head off first. We can... we can chat again next ti..."

"...Ah, alright."

Yan Huan stared blankly as Bai Yi leaned against the wall, stumbling crookedly toward the stairwell.

Then, her beautiful silhouette rounded the corner and vanished down the stairwell...

A few monts later, a delayed, faintly suppressed cheer of soone taphorically popping champagne echoed up from downstairs,

"Yes!!"
