"Edward, are you doubting now?"
As she asked the question, her eyes turned red as well.
Thomas felt a bit flustered inside, but he had to get to the bottom of this issue.
He believed Olivia wasn’t the malicious type. He wanted to confidently clear Olivia’s na in front of their parents.
As long as Olivia could explain everything clearly, he would believe her.
Thinking this, she sighed in her heart and said:
"Olivia, it’s not that I don’t believe you, but it’s because Mom and Dad, and Edward, don’t believe you. Edward has already found out that the dicine was handed over by , and also found out that I gave the dicine to you. I explained to them that you either lost it or it was stolen by soone with ill intentions, but they don’t believe ."
He looked at Olivia with an extrely serious gaze, and his tone was colder than ever before.
"Olivia, you know Edward’s thods. They have determined that you poisoned Helen. Unless you give a reliable reason, Edward will certainly make things difficult for you."
Olivia’s face turned even paler after hearing what Thomas said.
She was genuinely afraid of Edward and knew Thomas wasn’t exaggerating.
Soone as domineering as Edward would never listen to reason once he made up his mind.
But should she admit this to Thomas now?
Olivia began to tremble all over with fear, and then heard Thomas say:
"Mom and Dad also firmly believe that you’re the one who poisoned Helen. Mom even said..."
"What did she say?"
Olivia looked at Thomas with panic in her eyes, her voice trembling.
"Mom said you better hide well, otherwise she will make you lose a limb. Whatever Helen endured, she wants you to suffer a hundred tis over."
"Ah!!"
Olivia scread in fright at Thomas’s words, covering her ears with her hands, her face drained of color.
"Stop it, Edward, stop it."
She squatted on the ground, trembling all over. In such terror, she was half real fear, half acting, but in Thomas’s eyes, it was enough to make his heart ache.
"Olivia, don’t be afraid. Just honestly tell , where did the dicine go?"
He stepped forward, pulling Olivia into his embrace, soothing her gently.
Olivia leaned against him, her body trembling slightly, choking back sobs as she spoke:
"I don’t know, I really don’t know, Edward, you have to believe . I only had it as a precaution, if I had known the dicine would be used by soone, I wouldn’t have let you make it, ugh~~"
Thomas heard her weeping and felt a pang of pain in his heart, his brow furrowing tighter and tighter.
"Edward, how can Mom and Dad be so ruthless? It’s okay if they don’t like or want , but how can they accuse of such a cri."
As she cried, she seed about to cry herself into oblivion at any mont.
"Yes, I stole the good life ant for my sister, but I was just a baby at that ti. What was my fault? I accepted my fate of being driven out and returned the identity of the Smith Family’s eldest daughter to my sister. Isn’t that enough? Why must I bear the bla for harming her."
Olivia’s words were both innocent and pitiful, her cries making Thomas forget the questions he originally wanted to ask her, prompting him to choose to believe Olivia.
Or rather, he subconsciously chose to believe Olivia, because only by doing so, could he avoid feeling that his previous actions were excessively foolish.
