Capítulo 1848: Chapter 1848: Sumr Hall Side Story (50)

Leanne, however, did not leave and followed behind Jane, asking:

“Has the Young Master and Young Lady gotten up yet?”

Jane paused in her busy movents and said:

“The Young Master and Young Lady are still over in the annex. The Young Lady was still unconscious last night, and Doctor Matt said she has a moderate concussion. I don’t know if she’s awake yet.”

Moderate concussion?

Leanne sarcastically pursed her lips.

That vixen loves to make a fuss and put on a show just because her son is back, all to complain about her.

Leanne thought this in her heart but dared not say it out loud. She just said to Jane:

“Jane, you saw it last night too. I didn’t push Helen down the stairs on purpose. If the Young Master asks, you have to testify for .”

Jane paused her hands again, looked up at Leanne’s anxious eyes, sighed, and said helplessly:

“Ma’am, the issue now isn’t whether you intentionally pushed the Young Lady down the stairs. The fact is, the Young Lady was unconscious yesterday. The Young Master saw with his own eyes that you were grabbing the Young Lady, not letting go, hitting and kicking her. How can I testify for you?”

Hearing this, Leanne’s expression changed fiercely.

She hadn’t expected to be so unlucky as to get caught by her son while dragging Helen.

“You should also know the Young Lady’s place in the Young Master’s heart. This isn’t about whether I testify or not; it’s about whether the Young Master believes it or listens at all.”

Leanne knew Jane was telling the truth, but she didn’t want to admit it.

Hearing Jane lay such facts before her made her even more infuriated.

“If you can’t testify, just say so. Why are you telling this nonsense?”

Leanne’s voice unconsciously shifted, trying to comfort herself with self-deception.

“I’ll go find him now. I want to see if Harry Hall will really slap his actual mother a few tis for that vixen!”

With that, she stord angrily towards the annex.

Jane watched her back, shaking her head sowhat speechlessly.

If she thought her position as his mother was so high, why bother to apologize to a servant like her?

In the annex, Harry Hall was holding Helen lendy’s hand, watching over her all night.

When dawn ca, his eyes were bloodshot, his brain was throbbing.

But since his wife hadn’t woken up, he couldn’t sleep no matter how tired he was.

Just as he was about to get up to wash his face in the bathroom, the door was knocked on.

Harry Hall frowned slightly, just about to stand up, when he heard Leanne’s voice from outside, “Harry, are you awake?”

Hearing this voice, the redness in Harry Hall’s eyes was tinged with a few obvious traces of harshness.

He glanced at the bed, afraid Leanne’s knocking would wake Helen up, so he walked to the door and opened it.

Upon seeing Harry Hall, Leanne’s eyes brightened a bit, “Harry, about last night…”

“Get out!”

Harry Hall’s cold, low voice blocked the words Leanne was about to say.

Leanne was taken aback, hearing an intense sense of crisis in that unfeeling voice.

The more it was like this, the more Leanne wanted to urgently explain things to Harry Hall.

“Harry, listen to mom’s explanation. Mom didn’t an to…”

“Get out!”

Harry Hall’s eyes deepened, the coldness in them becoming even more haunting.

Leanne was so frightened that she shivered violently, not daring to speak again.
