Capítulo 1743: Chapter 1743: Not So Handso Anymore
As soon as these words were spoken, Adam Jones was completely stunned.
He looked at Elly Campbell’s bewildered eyes, unable to utter a single word for a long while.
Elly also didn’t speak, just looked at him with those puzzled and unfamiliar eyes.
After a long ti, Adam barely squeezed out a few words, “I’m your husband.”
“My husband?”
Elly furrowed her brows slightly, her expression showing so distress, “I’m married?”
Adam’s eyes carried a hint of lancholy, but he still nodded, “Yes, you’re married, and we have two adorable children.”
He reached out, gently touching her head, his expression soft yet tinged with helplessness.
“You fell down from the escalator in the mall and hurt your head. You might not rember temporarily. Don’t be afraid, I won’t hurt you. Just lie down and rest for a bit, I’ll go get the doctor.”
If it was before, he might not have believed in such absurd and lodramatic things like amnesia; but having personally experienced it himself and seeing Helen lendy, who lost nine years of mory, he easily accepted it.
Even though it didn’t feel good inside.
“Are you hungry? Mom went out to have breakfast. I’ll call her and get you sothing to eat.”
Elly looked at his tired face and nodded.
Adam tried to squeeze a smile from the corner of his mouth at her, pressed the call button beside the bed, and then said to Elly, “I’ll call Mom and tell her that you’re awake.”
He took a deep breath, stood up with his phone and started to walk out, but suddenly soone was on his back.
Elly pounced on him from behind, hugging his neck tightly, leaning close to his ear, her low laughter reaching him.
“Did I scare you, Island Master Jones?”
The familiar tone, familiar address, made Adam’s body freeze again.
After a long ti, he realized he had been fooled by a certain rascal, and abruptly turned his head, glaring at her mischievous gaze for a long ti before breaking into a smile of anger.
“You… you rascal!”
He turned back and hugged her, giving her a light slap on her bottom, as punishnt for scaring him.
After the prank, Elly looked at the fatigue on his face that he couldn’t hide, and regretted playing the “amnesia” joke on him earlier.
Her eyes colored with a bit of guilt, she reached out both arms, hugging him tightly, saying:
“I’m sorry for worrying you.”
Adam didn’t ask for much. As long as she was safe and sound before him, he wouldn’t mind anything else. What mattered the joke played by his wife on him?
Even though he felt this way inside, he still snorted discontentedly, “You do know how to worry , don’t you?”
He pointed at himself, saying, “Look what I’ve beco?”
Elly looked at his stubbled face, his slightly sunken cheeks, and his eyes filled with bloodshot lines, apparently from having not rested for a long ti.
Elly felt both heartache and guilt, cupping his cheeks with her hands, whispering, “A little less handso.”
Seeing Adam’s face turn displeased, she quickly acknowledged, “But I still really like it.”
“Hmph! Smart of you.”
Adam reached out, pinched her nose, and then told her to lie back properly on the bed, saying:
“I’ll make a call to Mom first, and then get the doctor here to check on you again.”
