Capítulo 1692: 1692. Does he have this intention?

“He might be able to develop the antidote faster than us, but can you ensure there’s nothing wrong with his dicine? Or, can you be sure he won’t tamper with it?”

Elly Campbell stared blankly at Adam Jones, silently not saying a word.

“Leo Hall, I don’t know much about him, but he’s definitely not an easy person to deal with. Can you trust his character? If he quietly adds sothing else to the dicine, would we know? Even if Helen lendy can stand up again, wouldn’t there be other issues?”

Adam’s words made Elly’s face suddenly turn a few shades paler, rembering the silent and invisible poison Chloe Turner used on her.

Elly’s whole body chilled, remaining silent for a long mont.

She actually… actually overlooked such a big problem.

Focusing solely on Leo Hall’s ability to make Helen stand up, she forgot he’s inherently a perverse, volatile person.

How could she expect this person to conduct the transaction peacefully with her?

If… if he did to Helen what Chloe did to her, and poisoned her dicine, then…

Elly trembled uncontrollably several tis with fear.

Adam felt the stiffness of the person in his arms, even the blood seed to cool, knowing she was in retrospect fear.

Feeling heartache, he held her tighter and said,

“I know you care too much and beco confused, missing many key issues. Now, think again, is Leo Hall really trustworthy?”

Elly’s complexion suddenly turned pale, without saying a word.

“Sure, Leo Hall could help Helen stand up sooner, but if he tampers with it, wouldn’t it be a situation of losing more than we gain?”

Seeing her attitude soften, Adam continued boldly:

“By then, your intention was to help her recover sooner, but it ended up backfiring, harming her again. Wouldn’t you feel even more guilty?”

Adam tried to persuade her from her perspective.

He clearly knew she always felt she owed Helen a life, making her unable to stand again.

No matter how often he told her that none of this was her fault, she stubbornly took all the responsibility upon herself.

Only by analyzing the potential situations Helen might face could she snap out of her fixation and view the entire matter clearly and objectively.

Sure enough, after hearing these words, Elly’s rigid body curled further into his embrace, “You’re right, I didn’t think things through thoroughly enough.”

Adam quietly breathed a sigh of relief, never realizing persuading his wife could feel more rewarding than successfully sealing a multi-billion-dollar deal.

Then, Elly heard him hum softly, his voice deepening,

“Still planning to abandon your husband and child and run away with another man?”

Elly knew he was no longer angry, pursing her lips into a slight smile, tightly embracing Adam’s body, burying her face in his chest, and shaking her head:

“No, I was wrong, I really know I was wrong.”

With a slightly appeasing tone, she further nestled into Adam’s arms.

She couldn’t understand what made her think and trust so surely that Leo Hall could make Helen stand again.

Yes, Leo Hall has the capability, but does he have the intention?

Adam sensed a certain mischievous person in his arms secretly regretting and fearing, and laughed helplessly.
