Chapter 1641: 1641. I also trust her very much

He imdiately stood up and walked towards her, asking in a low voice:

“What happened?”

Elly Campbell put her index finger to her lips, made a quiet gesture to him, and pulled his hand, leading him into the study.

Once in the study, Elly finally looked at him, hesitated for a mont, then spoke:

“Did you ntion to Johnson Fefferman this morning about her kissing you last night?”

Adam Jones was stunned for a mont, then furrowed his brows, his face darkened, “I wish it never happened. It’s in the past. Why would I bring it up to her?”

“I knew it…”

Elly hadn’t believed what Johnson said in the first place, and just now, displaying a harsh face to Adam in front of her was deliberately done for her to see.

Since she wanted to make her doubt her ambiguous relationship with Adam, she would let her have a look at it.

Even though Elly only said those two words, Adam surely caught the unspoken aning in her words.

“Johnson said it?”

Elly nodded, “She probably thinks I’m like other won, suspicious and unwilling to ask, and even if I asked you and you explained, she’d still plant seeds of doubt in my heart. Her actions would then be aningful.”

Adam took a long breath of relief, sowhat fearful but also grateful.

Grateful that his wife believed in him so unconditionally.

He stretched out his long arms to pull Elly into his embrace, sincerely praising:

“I’m really lucky to have married such a smart, trusting wife.”

“Hmph!”

Elly pushed him away in feigned annoyance, “Yeah, you’re lucky. I’m the unfortunate one, constantly running into won who covet my husband. Finally t soone who’s easy on the eyes, only to find out she’s just a higher-ranked rival.”

But Adam seriously raised his hand to interrupt her, taking the opportunity to show his loyalty:

“You’re wrong. The woman I love is your only rival, so the only woman in the world who can be your rival is one.”

“Who?”

Elly squinted her eyes at him.

“Her na is Elly Campbell.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Elly gave him a playful eye-roll, “That corny line.”

“Love words aren’t about being corny or not, but about being sincere or not.”

“Stop sweet-talking.”

Elly playfully pushed him aside and sat down on a chair by the side. She looked up at him, her expression turning serious, asking:

“What’s your take on Johnson being drugged?”

At that, she paused and said, “I initially called Director Brown…”

She detailed the phone conversation to Adam.

Adam didn’t seem surprised by what Elly said. After hearing her out, he leaned in to whisper a few words in her ear, changing her expression slightly.

“Really?”

Adam nodded, “I was planning to tell you in a while, but thinking about it, my wife’s so smart, she’d find out sooner or later. Better to say it earlier.”

“Don’t just grab opportunities to flatter. You’re making feel embarrassed.”

Elly pretended to shyly touch her cheek and continued:

“If your wife was really that smart, she wouldn’t just now be realizing sothing’s off with Johnson.”

“Can’t bla you, I always trusted her too.”

Adam sat beside her on the armrest of the chair, his long arm wrapped around her shoulder, with a slightly regretful tone.

“I really admired her ability. Just didn’t expect such high intelligence wouldn’t be put to proper use.”

After all, being the daughter trained by Lisa Fefferman, her ability is unquestionable.
