Chapter 1640: 1640. I don’t like the look of you.

Adam Jones had no intention to answer her, continuously knocking on the door, “Elly! Open the door! Elly! Elly…”

The next second, the master bedroom door opened, and Elly Campbell ca out with a sowhat sullen expression. Her gaze swept back and forth across Adam Jones and Johnson Fefferman’s faces, and she spoke in a cold tone:

“Back already?”

Adam was puzzled by Elly’s attitude but still nodded, “Had dinner. What were you doing inside? I called you for a long ti and got no response.”

“Nothing, just dealing with so work matters.”

Elly had no intention to say more and simply said, “Let’s go have dinner first.”

“Okay.”

Adam walked beside her, and they descended the stairs together, while Johnson followed a few steps behind them, casting a thoughtful glance at Elly’s back before smiling aningfully.

She thought, how could a woman truly be indifferent when hearing her husband nostalgically talk about another woman?

At the dining table, everything seed normal, but those with things on their minds felt the atmosphere was sowhat strange.

The Old Lady, unaware of the situation, asked Johnson, “Johnson, are you feeling better?”

Johnson paused her eating, glanced subtly at Elly, and indeed saw Elly’s hand holding the chopsticks tighten slightly, with her expression becoming gloomier.

She discreetly withdrew her gaze and smiled at the Old Lady:

“Everything’s fine now, thanks, Grandma.”

“Glad to hear you’re okay.”

After dinner, Elly didn’t return to her room imdiately but went to the boys’ room to play with them.

Adam sensed Elly was acting strangely and followed her into the boys’ room.

Johnson’s room was right next to the boys’ room, and she returned to her room first, leaving the door slightly ajar.

Though the room was soundproofed well, it was not completely isolated, and she could faintly hear sounds from the room next door.

“Elly, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing, I just find you irritating. Go back to your room. Don’t bother here.”

Johnson heard Elly’s impatient voice from the next room, followed by Adam’s aggrieved voice, “What’s actually wrong?”

“I told you it’s nothing. Stop being annoying. Go away, don’t be an eyesore here.”

Johnson had never heard Elly speak so abruptly, especially to Adam. Her eyebrows knitted discreetly.

Soon after, she no longer heard Adam’s voice and saw through the crack of the door that he left William’s room and returned to his own room.

As he entered, he closed the door with so force, clearly angered by Elly’s inexplicable behavior.

Even though she is a woman too, Johnson particularly disliked won who bottled up their feelings and vented them on n without reason.

But now, she particularly liked this woman’s character.

Thinking of this, she laughed, turned, and lay back on the bed.

Elly stayed in the boys’ room for a long ti and only left when they were sleepy and settled them down to sleep. After they were asleep, she finally erged from the room.

Adam waited in his room for a while, feeling a bit anxious.

After a long wait, Elly finally entered the room.
