Chapter 121: 121. The turbulent secret affair between two n_1 Chapter 121: 121. The turbulent secret affair between two n_1 “Madam, this is your bag.”
“Thank you.”
Elly took it, said thanks, and headed toward the hospital building. She had only taken a few steps when she heard soone calling her, “Elly.”
Elly turned around and saw Jas Churchill approaching her with a rascal-like smile, his gaze subtly shifting to glance at Robert Green, who was standing behind her.
“I was about to go have breakfast, do you want to join ?”
“I have already eaten. I’m about to change shifts with the on-call doctor. You better go eat.”
“Alright then.”
Jas seed a bit disappointed as he shrugged his shoulders. At that mont, Adam Jones arrived, and the two of them bumped into each other.
Because of the last banquet incident and the hospital gossip about Jas and Elly’s relationship, Adam harbored a very intense hostility towards Jas.
His gaze beca naturally deeper when looking at Jas.
Elly saw Adam coming but didn’t stop to wait for him, she acknowledged Jas with a greeting and walked on.
Jas smiled and nodded a greeting to Adam, “President Jones, here to see your sister?”
The seemingly casual greeting carried an undercurrent of provocation, which Adam could clearly discern. His sharp thin lips curled up slightly, and he deliberately said, “I just had breakfast with my wife and dropped her off at work in passing.”
Adam’s words conveyed quite a bit of information: one, that they had breakfast together, which very likely ant they had stayed together the night before; and two, that there had been so kind of reconciliation between Elly and Adam.
Upon hearing this, Jas’s expression changed for a mont, but he quickly masked it with a laugh, “I always thought President Jones only knew how to pamper Miss Baker, but it turns out you’re equally attentive to Elly.”
He intentionally ntioned Sophie Baker, obviously reminding Adam of the divorce matter between him and Elly.
Adam’s expression darkened, and as their eyes t, they both saw a confrontation brimming with challenge.
“Elly is my wife, of course I’ll take care of her. Unlike Doctor Matt, who doesn’t even have a female companion and needs to borrow soone else’s wife for appearances.”
Jas’s smiling lips froze for a half a second as he looked into Adam’s deep eyes, his own eyes narrowing, clearly displeased.
Helen, who witnessed this confrontation between the two n, secretly wiped away sweat.
The lady surely didn’t know that two n were competing for her in secret.
“Yes, who makes so faithful? Not like President Jones, who is such a philanderer.”
Hiding the dangerous gleam at the bottom of his eyes, Jas looked at Adam and laughed, his words still laced with provocation.
“I still need to have breakfast, so I won’t delay President Jones any longer.”
Jas stared at Adam, resentful and itching to punch the man – such a philanderer, why wouldn’t Elly consider remarrying just because of him!
“Doctor Matt!”
As Jas was cursing to his heart’s content internally, Adam suddenly called out to him.
Jas stopped and turned around, seeing Adam approaching with a cold face, “Does President Jones have any further instructions?”
Adam stood in front of him, neither of them yielding an inch in stature, both exerting a heavy sense of authority.
Adam narrowed his eyes and told Jas, “What relationship I have with other won is none of Doctor Matt’s business. I just hope Doctor Matt rembers one thing—Elly is currently my wife, Adam Jones’s lawful spouse. Please keep your unsophisticated thoughts to yourself and stay away from my wife.”
Facing Adam’s low warning, Jas just raised his eyebrows nonchalantly, his sneer laced with irony, “President Jones must be too busy with important things, have you forgotten that Elly wants a divorce from you?”
