Chapter 940: Trial Gathering
Xu Feng was never so lunatic who would entangle himself with a personality like Evelyn’s. That was just asking for trouble and many headaches.
All along, he only planned on using her as a pawn and a spy to get so critical information for him. Based on Evelyn’s ability to give him half of confidential information without hesitation, it goes without saying that her identity must be special.
Perhaps, she was the granddaughter of a respected elder in the guild.
Another possibility was that she was a potential heir and successor to Maleficent Limited.
Maleficent Limited was ultimately the boss of the Malefic Order Guild, so its prestige was definitely higher.
It was just a pity that in the past tiline, his social level was too low to be dealing with entities such as them. Moreover, trying to investigate them was essentially courting death.
Thus, Xu Feng didn’t have any relevant information or data regarding them.
‘I should really have my own intelligence network.’ He sighed softly and beca depressed. Information was essential for any guild, but at the mont, his intelligence network was very subpar.
“Why are you sighing, Guild Leader?” Carn furrowed her brows and asked. “It can’t be that you are feeling guilty of deceiving Evelyn, right?”
“Nonsense!” Xu Feng rolled his eyes and pinched her cheek. “I’m sighing because our guild is lacking in so many departnts as opposed to the other guilds.”
“The auxiliary and support departnts huh.” Carn instantly comnted and frowned a bit. The defense and offense departnt was great, even the financial aspect was on the right track.
However, the support and auxiliary, especially the intelligence network part was severely lacking. Had their intelligence network been superior, then there wouldn’t have been a surprise attack on them.
“Well, let’s not talk about it anymore and just explore the city.” Xu Feng clasped his hands and suggested.
Carn readily agreed. “I wonder how different Vermont City is compared to Star Falls City.”
Each city had their own unique specialty and features. This was done ticulously by the System to ensure each city felt different and new.
Ti quickly went by, and as the two lost their sense of ti, the slots within their inventory started blinking.
Soon, a System Notification appeared in front of them while they were holding so snacks.
“Eh, it’s ti already?” Carn’s eyes widened in shock. “I didn’t even feel like much ti had gone by though.”
“Well, ti always goes fast when you’re having fun, but always slow when you’re not.” Xu Feng exhaled softly.
After getting rid of the snacks, Xu Feng accepted the summon. Carn quickly followed behind.
Their figures turned into particles of light as they soon appeared in a large sanctuary-like building.
As they appeared in the scene, they were surrounded by nurous people.
It was as if they had joined so camp with multiple different groups.
“People from Mistwalkers co over to the left!”
“Midnight’s people head to the right section!”
“Twilight’s people to the center!”
Upon hearing nurous shouting, Carn subtly tugged on Xu Feng’s arm to avoid being lost in the crowd.
There were too many people shouting over each other. It was hard to even listen properly.
Luckily for her, Xu Feng was used to such commotion and already anticipated that the scene would be chaotic. Since it was clearly their first experience in such a process, it was hard for them to be overly organized.
After all, the slots only teleported them to the partaking trial, but every location was random. It just so happened that Carn appeared next to him, which saved him the trouble of having to find her.
Soti later, they spotted the Cyclone Guild’s camp which was in the center-right most.
Naturally, there were multiple branches on top of the Cyclone Guild. Floral Branch, Tornado Branch, Lightning Branch, and Darkness Branch.
A total of 4 branches within the Cyclone Guild participated.
After arriving at the Floral Branch, so of the mbers glanced at them confusingly.
“Um, who are you two?” A mber of the Floral Branch asked. With how chaotic the current scene was, followed by their Stealth Cloak concealing their appearance, it was hard for the mbers to determine them.
In response, Xu Feng simply retrieved the slot and showed it to the mber.
“Ah, you’re one of the special guests that our branch invited. Do make your way to the inner circle and avoid leaving since we are doing the counting.” The mber swiftly advised and counted them.
As they passed through the inspection, Carn couldn’t help but be alard that the Floral Witch had invited other people as well.
‘Hmm, as expected of soone who could climb to a branch leader’s position.’ She was starting to understand what Xu Feng ant by having a friendly smile on the surface but deep inside was a shrewd mindset.
Floral Witch appeared innocent and friendly, but who knows how many secrets and sches she was concealing.
Once they walked close to the inner circle created by the Floral Branch. Xu Feng and Carn noticed there were an additional 3 people.
Each one of them was also wearing a Stealth Cloak to hide their appearance.
When they sensed their arrival, they simply gave a simple glance before returning to their business.
Xu Feng didn’t mind their reaction and calmly found an empty spot.
He then retrieved two chairs for him and Carn.
“Wow, you’re really prepared,” Carn exclaid in shock. Almost everyone was sitting down on the floor, but Xu Feng sohow had chairs in his inventory.
And it wasn’t just any chairs—it was the comfortable office chairs that they used in their Guild Residence.
“We can finish the snacks we purchased from earlier here. It’s going to take at least half an hour or more for them to finish allocating everything.” Xu Feng comnted.
For a trial with a total participant of 150 from different groups, it would be surprising if they could organize everything in the snap of a finger.
Maybe if it were the sa guild, then it would be possible. But 6 different guilds, followed by different branches within the sa guild.
That was just asking for a disaster!
