Chapter 905: First Priority

Xu Feng was alard by the attack power while Carn frowned, her expression rather dark as she noticed her voidlings couldn’t even withstand one attack from the boss.

Without her voidlings, it could be said that her firepower was reduced by half. After all, most of the offensive skills required her summons as a dium to output the highest damage.

She was a Summoner base class at the end of the day, and not so Arcane Mage or Sorcerer.

While Carn was frustrated by the developnt, Xu Feng’s eyes suddenly narrowed.

“Careful!” He hurriedly called out but knew it was too late. Without hesitation, he quickly pushed Carn to the side, who was rather confused by the shove.

However, her eyes soon widened in disbelief when the Slaughter Chainsaw erged in front of Xu Feng.

Its bulky saw arm soon cut straight down at Xu Feng.

“Guild Leader!” Carn cried out in alarm.

Dust piled up on the ground, negating her vision from being able to see what had happened.

Amidst the dust, Carn suddenly heard a voice from within.

“Quickly cast your Void Field if it’s off cooldown.”

Carn recognized the voice and hurriedly cast her Void Field.

A few seconds later, the dust scattered and Carn noticed Xu Feng’s health had dropped to 5%, with a barrier covering him.

Not wasting any ti, Carn realized her summon count was back up and hurriedly summoned them while using a taunt skill to take the Slaughter Chainsaw’s attention away from Xu Feng.

Unwilling to let her voidlings be killed in a whirlwind chainsaw dance, Carn made sure to scatter them across, creating a large distance in between.

Now even if the Slaughter Chainsaw were to use the sa moveset, it wouldn’t be as effective as the first ti.

As the Slaughter Chainsaw’s attention was shifted to a nearby voidling, Carn hurriedly dashed to Xu Feng’s side and asked in concern. “Are you alright, Guild Leader?”

“What do you think?” Xu Feng flashed a bittersweet smile. It was a good thing he had activated Ultimate Will on ti, otherwise, he was guaranteed to be one shot from that sudden attack.

Who could have thought that the Slaughter Chainsaw had a target lock-on skill?

“Make sure your summons do not get wiped out anymore. Otherwise, one of us will beco a target.” He then warned, explaining the situation. Due to the fact that only they were the ones remaining after the Slaughter Chainsaw killed the voidlings, it was able to lock its target onto them.

Initially, the target was pointed at Carn, but Xu Feng detected it in ti and shifted the target to himself. It happened almost in the blink of an eye, so he couldn’t react in ti to summon his own creatures to block it on his behalf.

Nodding, Carn also understood that she would have been killed.

After all, she definitely wouldn’t have thought about activating the Ultimate Will in that instance.

“I’ve scattered my voidlings now.” She said solemnly. “I rarely cared about their placent before because the monsters were always weaker and easy to swarm. But the Slaughter Chainsaw made

realize that doing so was courting death.”

Pleased, Xu Feng was glad that Carn had learned from her mistake.

“I’m glad that I tank that hit then,” he mused and began healing himself. In the anti, Carn started to turn her focus to the battle and proceeded to control her voidlings.

Although the beginning was rather junky and quite ssy, to say the least.

She was starting to show signs of improvent.

Nevertheless, ti waited for no one and before anyone realized, they were down to half an hour.

Tir: 00:30:58

As the ti continued to tick down, the cooperation between Xu Feng and Carn increased significantly. Most of the skills that the Slaughter Chainsaw used were recognizable, including the action phase that triggered them.

“Guild Leader, has the boss been weakened enough yet?” Carn asked as she panted heavily.

The mana consumption was heavy as she repeatedly canceled and recast her Void Field. Simultaneously, she needed to expend a large amount of concentration to control each voidlings intended to taunt and distract the boss.

“The boss has been weakened, but not enough to deal the most damage.” Xu Feng responded. His eyes stared at the health bar of the boss and constantly checked for any anomaly.

Just when things seed to be smooth sailing, both of them began to notice sothing.

The taunts from the voidlings were no longer as effective. The Slaughter Chainsaw was still killing the voidlings, but only when it was within a fixed radius of its current spot.

Carn quickly expressed her worries.

“Is the taunt no longer going to work?” She asked, her eyes staring at its health bar which was around 52%. There were still 25 minutes left in the battle.

“I think once it reaches 50%, the boss might be immune to it.” Xu Feng suspected. Having dealt with many boss-type enemies in the past tiline, his instinct was rarely incorrect when it ca to things like this.

If 50% ant immunization to taunt, and 30% being the berserk phase of the boss, then Xu Feng knew the remaining ti wouldn’t be enough for the two of them to complete.

“Forget it, let’s just get it to 50% first and see.” He shook his head and ultimately told Carn to continue as planned. At the mont, it was just speculation and not confird incidents.

If it was truly confird, then Xu Feng would have to make drastic moves to get the job down.

Now that they were close to the final mark and having tasted the sweetness of the Ultimate Will, he was very unwilling to leave empty-handed.

3 minutes later, Carn collapsed the Void Field again, effectively bringing the Slaughter Chainsaw’s health bar to 49%.

“Indeed, my voidlings’ taunts are being completely ignored.” Carn pursed her lips as she watched the Slaughter Chainsaw’s eyes lock onto none other than her Guild Leader.

“Ah, a healer’s dilemma,” he exhaled deeply, not a bit surprised that the healer was the first priority in any fight.
