??869: Grease
869: Grease
After falling down from 3F to ground level, Carn’s mood was naturally sour.
Who wouldn’t be?
It wasn’t that she ssed up or anything, but the black-hearted System incorporated grease on the side wall.
“This isn’t your fault,” Xu Feng patted her shoulders and consoled.
He reckoned this wasn’t your typical Up challenge, but one that had many random gibberish elents added ant to sabotage players.
These types of gas were ant to force players to constantly morize the trap or sabotage placent after encountering them once and redo the whole process.
Not only were these types of gas frustrating, but it was also very ti-consuming.
Had there been no ti limit, then Xu Feng was still fine with it.
However, with this revelation, he ca to realize that he had severely underestimated the secret dungeon.
‘No wonder the level requirent was that generous.
Level doesn’t even an anything in this dungeon.’ Xu Feng pursed his lips.
“Ugh, I don’t even know where the grease part was,” Carn grumbled.
This was her main concern.
She didn’t know the range of the grease to prevent a similar situation.
“Don’t worry, I morized it.” Xu Feng smiled as the two stepped onto the wooden platform to ascend to 1F again.
Tir: 38:39:45
Although quite a few minutes had gone by, Xu Feng had no intention of rushing or anything.
He knew that rushing or panicking wouldn’t result in any satisfactory result.
Instead, it would only worsen the situation and cause the other party to be anxious and nervous.
Thus, he kept a positive outlook and paid close attention to Carn’s emotions.
Carn also understood that she was behaving quite snobbish and whiney, but that stemd from her trying not to beco one.
Maybe in her mind, she thought it would have been better if Xu Feng was alone to challenge this.
“Carn, let’s not get too distracted.” Suddenly, Xu Feng chuckled and brought her back to reality.
“I don’t care what you think, but if I’m willing to duo the dungeon with you, then I have no intention of abandoning or blaming you.”
Hearing that, Carn could only reluctantly nod her head.
“I’ll do my best, Guild Leader.” She said calmly.
“Good, because if you keep sulking, then I’m going to have you take over Veronica’s administrative work.
Maybe the paperwork would rile you up.” Xu Feng curled his lips upward, flashing a wicked grin.
Similar to Zhao Kai, she was equally afraid of handling paperwork.
This was also why Carn was very close with Veronica because oftentis, she would do the paperwork on her behalf.
In return, Carn would take over so of the designs and marketing ideas to lessen the load on Veronica’s back.
Hence, the threat was very effective, provided that Carn’s body shuddered slightly as she swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
“I won’t ss up unless there are unexpected variables.” She declared solemnly.
Pleased, Xu Feng decided to take the lead this ti and raised his right hand to signal that he was going to begin.
Ti went by, and the two arrived at the 3F, facing the sa side wall.
Previously, Xu Feng failed to gain much distance because other than trying to reach the other platform, he was also scrutinizing the side wall regarding the greasy part.
‘The grease covers the top part, forcing us to run low.’ He had determined silently.
Carn was running in the middle part, granted that was the ideal spot to do a wall run.
However, this particular side wall was greased from the top to the middle, leaving only the bottom part sparkly clean.
In other words, when they were running, they had to keep their altitude low, risking the chances of falling down by a large margin.
When Xu Feng explained his conjecture, Carn frowned a bit.
“I don’t think that’s entirely correct, Guild Leader.” She said.
“Oh, why’s that?”
“When I slipped from the grease, I tried to balance a bit in the bottom part.
But then it only caused my fall to be quicker.”
“…”
Silent, Xu Feng didn’t anticipate that one bit.
He didn’t doubt Carn’s words and thought she slipped further because of the initial grease.
After all, she got the grease stuck on her left shoe and tried to balance it back later on with her clean right shoe.
Even though she was caught unexpectedly, she still managed to make the best choice possible in such a split second.
That was a talent!
Not everyone could react in ti like that.
“I see… seems like there’s a tight range we could run in.” Xu Feng heaved a soft sigh, feeling the mini-ga was labeled wrong.
How could such a difficulty be called a mini-ga?
Whoever designed this chanism was a psychopath for sure.
“If you trust , I can run first again,” Carn said after a long pondering.
She knew that Xu Feng suggested running first wasn’t due to his distrust of her, but rather because he didn’t want her to feel an extre burden.
And to be fair, she realized her ntality was quite weak when facing the unknown and new things.
However, she had co to an understanding that Xu Feng was also facing the unknown.
Unlike his usual antics that seed to showcase his vast knowledge of everything—this ti, he appeared to be adapting constantly with newfound information.
In other words, Xu Feng was also clueless but refused to give up.
He kept his composure and maintained his vigilant and analytic skills to seek improvent.
Since he could do it, then why couldn’t she do the sa?
Thus, thanks to the influence of Xu Feng, her emotions and determination were gradually affected by him.
“I won’t fail again now that I know what is in front of us.” She clenched her fist and gazed at Xu Feng.
She wanted him to know that she wasn’t the sa person in the past.
Looking at her, Xu Feng suddenly curled his lips upward and nodded in approval.
Indeed, this was the Demoness in his mind—determined and undeterred.
“Then I shall be led by you, Guild Commander.” Xu Feng gestured his hand and allowed her to walk in front of him.
