??867: Pole Jumping
867: Pole Jumping
After the initial small crack obstacle, Xu Feng anticipated that there would be more cracks.
Unfortunately, he was incorrect and the next obstacle was the pole obstacle.
This pole-jumping obstacle was covered by a canyon-like wall, which obscured their vision when they below.
Hence, the two didn’t expect to see the pole obstacle already.
The poles stood tall, each one barely wide enough for a single person to land on.
“Do you want to do the first jump or shall I take the lead?” Xu Feng inquired softly.
The poles were distanced from each other, making it impossible for the two of them to be in the sa space.
It was destined that one would be ahead when it ca to this particular obstacle.
And as if that wasn’t enough to understand, there was also the System guide that instructed them how to proceed.
Xu Feng also took a sneaky glimpse at the tir above the sky.
Despite their current position, the tir was always in clear view for them to check.
Tir: 38:42:38
More than 2 minutes had gone by and they were only at the second tutorial obstacle course.
The wooden platform from the start was a ti-consuming one, which made Xu Feng more cautious of such a chanism.
After all, a chanism like that was guaranteed to succeed, but they wouldn’t be able to min-max the ti they could save.
“I’ll do the first jump,” Carn wanted to get over her anxiety and decided to go first.
Besides, she already knew she was being a burden.
The anxiety and nervousness that she was invoking had caused Xu Feng to delay the progress.
Although he didn’t rush her or anything, the concern he showed was the sa as the ti when they first t.
Not only was he always patient with her, but he never reprimanded her for causing a mistake or anything.
Soti later, Carn stood at the spot indicated by the system and leaped across.
She safely landed on the first pole, but this was where the challenge began.
There were four poles in total in this obstacle.
In other words, she needed to leap three more poles before reaching the other side.
However, the problem was that she needed to ti the jumping well with Xu Feng.
Otherwise, the two would cause each other to be hindered due to the chain in their ankles.
“Guild Leader, I’ll jump now,” Carn said aloud.
“Just raise your right hand for the signal to go and your left hand to stop.” Xu Feng suddenly suggested how to proceed.
“When you raise your right hand, we will both silently countdown by 3, and on 1, we’ll jump.
But if you raise your left hand, we will co to a complete halt.” He continued, explaining the thod.
“Okay,” she nodded and raised her right hand.
Then, the two silently countdown from 3.
As soon as they reached 1, the two simultaneously jumped.
Carn leaped toward the second pole whereas Xu Feng leaped toward the first pole.
Although it was a bit funky, they managed to keep their balance and maintain their footing.
anwhile, Carn quickly raised her left hand, signaling for them to stop.
Naturally, she was testing the signs and was actually ready to jump for the third pole.
Having succeeded the first ti in their teamwork, Carn seed visibly relaxed a bit.
And then she lowered her head, only to see the lowest level right beneath them.
It would have been fine if she remained unaware, but the mont she did, her eyes widened in shock and horror.
Her legs started shaking slightly, seemingly depicting a fear of height.
Compared to being able to fly freely versus her current state, the altitude they were on was enough to frighten her.
After all, in their perspective, they were gazing down from the 8th floor.
“No need to panic,” Watching Carn shaking her legs and nearly stumbling to the edges of the pole, Xu Feng’s calm and serene voice echoed.
“What’s there to be afraid of?
We’re gars and this is just a walk in the park.” He continued, clearly disdainful at the mini-ga.
Thanks to the encouragent from Xu Feng’s words, Carn breathed out a sigh of relief and nodded in agreent.
Indeed, there was nothing to be afraid of.
It wasn’t like the lowest level was going to jumpscare her and drag her down.
After taking a few deep breaths, Carn raised her right hand, signaling for them to advance forward.
Once the two silently counted down from 3, they jumped to the next pole.
Unlike the first ti, Carn continued to raise her right hand, indicating that she wanted to complete the second obstacle without pause.
Xu Feng didn’t voice any complaints and followed her advancent.
Although Xu Feng had ntioned that he would voice it aloud if he didn’t want to keep going, he naturally wouldn’t break her current montum.
Not to ntion, he wasn’t even struggling.
He was certain that Carn would soon return to her original state.
She was simply behaving cautiously because she had never dealt with such a scenario before.
‘I recall being worse than her when I first encountered my first mini-ga,’ Xu Feng mused inwardly.
Soti later, the two continued to advance forward.
This ti, they didn’t stall or have any delay.
The next three obstacles were repeated ones, albeit with wider gaps in the crack between bridges and the poles being a bit smaller which caused them to prioritize precision.
Having speedrun for a while, one thing the two of them noticed was that they had infinite stamina.
They had exerted quite a lot of their strength but they never felt tired.
It was completely different from the maze environnt where they had to be cautious of every action to maintain their stamina.
“This seems easier than the maze,” Carn suddenly said.
Now that she had adjusted to the current situation, she ca to realize how pathetic her reaction was.
There was a mont when she slipped and nearly fell down to the pole, but Xu Feng was able to latch onto the chain and pull her up.
This was despite him being in a small pole as well.
“Well, it’s still the tutorial phase.” Xu Feng said, quickly suppressing her from believing things were going to be easy.
