SLASH!

"Nice one," Xu Feng suddenly exclaid.

"Now how many more are left do we have to kill?" He continued, asking about their current kill count.

While he was asking, Carn was busy killing another group of monsters that approached them with her Summons.

Seeing how carefree and relaxed Xu Feng was behaving, she honestly had the urge to order her Summons to target him instead.

'How did this even happen?' She cried inwardly.

"W-Why are you staring at

with those creepy eyes?" Carn covered her chest with her arms. Naturally, she didn't think he was being a pervert, but that was precisely why she was afraid.

She would rather him to be a perverted man who wanted to stare at her because of her beauty. But knowing Xu Feng well, he was definitely not the type to be consud in lust.

If that was the case, then she wouldn't even have hugged him previously. No, it was more correct to say that she would have felt imnse discomfort when she embraced him.

"Say sothing and do not hover your eyes around !" She clamored, feeling wary of his mindset.

And sure enough, her fear ca true when Xu Feng suddenly clasped his hands.

"Well, I doubt we need anyone to help us. The secret dungeon never explicitly stated that we must fill up the player's count quota." He stood up and flashed a wide smile.

"..."

Carn's eyes turned rather lifeless when she heard him. Even a fool could tell that Xu Feng intended to attempt the secret dungeon with just the two of them.

"We could still call for Veronica and Zhao Kai." She offered a suggestion.

Alas, the suggestion was flat-out denied by Xu Feng.

"Veronica is busy with guiding the representative from the Dark Legion Guild. As for Zhao Kai, he's busy in real life for the upcoming City Competition." He calmly explained.

"Zhao Kai is going to compete in the City Competition?" Alard, this information was sothing new to her. No wonder why she hadn't seen him online as of late.

Having been integrated as part of the guild completely, Carn more or less understood the relationship between the two and that they lived in the sa city.

Therefore, Carn wasn't surprised that Zhao Kai was going to participate in the City Competition. Instead, what alard her the most was that Xu Feng didn't emphasize he was going to join.

If Xu Feng was going to join and compete, then he would have said so rather than ntioning Zhao Kai only.

"I thought you were going to participate." She inquired, having recalled that he was injured previously because of a brawl with another Energy Force Fighter.

She was inford that the enemy was a high-level fighter. To confront and survive against them goes to show how much skill Xu Feng had.

Thus, by logic, he should have been actively recruited to join the City Competition. Not to ntion, Veronica even told her about his move exchange with a fighter at Lumora City.

'Is he trolling ?' She wondered silently.

anwhile, Xu Feng didn't know what was going on with her mindset as he responded honestly.

"I don't have the ti to go through the ordeal of the City Competition. I was invited, but I told them that the chances of

agreeing were slim." He shrugged his shoulders.

Almost imdiately, Carn wanted to give him a punch.

Don't have the ti?

What kind of sick joke was that?

She knew about graded cities and that to advance, one needed to earn a good spot in the City Competition. Not even first-graded cities were spared from the competition and were required to participate to maintain their grading.

Of course, first-graded cities had more leniency as they were given at least 3 chances if they were to fail two tis in a row.

However, the possibility of that ever happening was near 0 percent.

"Is Zhao Kai perhaps stronger than you?" Carn suddenly shifted the topic. This was the only logical explanation as to why Zhao Kai was participating and not him.

Alas, her sudden question irked Xu Feng sowhat.

"Him stronger than ?" He raised an eyebrow and pointed at himself.

"Hell no!" He cried aloud.

"Then what's your deal?"

"My deal is that I need to prioritize the Divine World."

"But it's just a—" Carn wanted to argue back and say it was just a ga, but ca to a halt herself. Others might not know, but thanks to Xu Feng's subtle hint, she ca to realize that the Divine World was not just a simple ga.

Despite playing for many hours, she had never felt tired. This was applicable to her real-life body as well. Moreover, she even found her beauty to be enhanced and when she went to do her annual checkup, the doctor actually questioned what kind of supplents she had been taking.

After all, the dical report showed she was more healthy than in the past five years.

"Anyway, it looks like a cat got your tongue. But fret not, you can vent all you want by killing the required monsters to open the secret dungeon entrance." Xu Feng clasped his hands and turned serious.

Just like that, Carn was unwilling to converse further, and nodded her head unconsciously and that was what brought them to the current situation.

"There's still around 20ish more." She responded after having killed around 80 or so monsters at level 45.

"But are you sure you want to enter the dungeon with just us two?"

"Of course," Xu Feng mused. He was already determined to either hog all the rewards or forfeit the rewards. Consider it a gamble of all or nothing.

Additionally, on the off-chance that the secret dungeon could be attempted multiple tis, then Xu Feng would have won as well.

After all, he could gain valuable information by diving straight in and preparing a team that could counter it. Naturally, the team he chose would be forced to sign a strict contract.

As for why he didn't just do it from the get-go… the answer was rather simple. He didn't want to spill the news of such a secret dungeon to a third party.
