Ti went by quickly, and before anyone knew it, Razor had returned from his assigned mission.
"Boss, I have done everything you asked," Razor reported.
Xu Feng calmly checked the system interface and when it flashed a green light, confirming the mission was indeed completed, he nodded.
"Well done," he praised and as promised, threw the 5 gold coins to Razor, who happily accepted it and placed them in his pockets.
As for Brutus, his eyes turned bloody red from envy and jealousy. Since Xu Feng had hired them both with 20 gold coins, it ant that each of them was going to receive 10 gold coins.
However, because of Razor's efficiency, he gained an additional 5 gold coins, bumping it to 15 gold coins. In other words, without doing much, he gained more wealth than him, who had to act as a chair.
'This is so fucking unfair!' Brutus scread inwardly, finding it very unjust.
Alas, he dared not voice his complaint, lest Xu Feng might scold him again.
"Do you want to earn an additional 5 gold coins as well?"
It was as if a god had descended and Brutus lifted his chin up, but his lower body remained still.
"Can I?" His eyes sparkled as he stared at Xu Feng.
Nodding, Xu Feng pointed at Carn. "My companion here wishes to improve her combat experience, so if you can be her sparring partner and assist her. An additional 5 gold coins will be in your pocket."
"Guild Leader?" Astonished, Carn didn't expect Xu Feng to request such a thing.
"Yes, I—"
Before Brutus could readily agree to this easy money, Razor suddenly intervened and patted his chest.
"Boss, my agility and offensive power are better than Brutus. I can see your companion is a mage of so sort, so I would be a perfect sparring partner compared to a Berserker." Razor volunteered himself, ignoring the disbelief expression from Brutus.
Truly, in front of absolute wealth, even friendships or teammates could easily turn against each other in a heartbeat.
"Boss, please don't believe Razor," Brutus said and proceeded to talk about many of Razor's shortcomings.
As if not wanting to be the only one who looked bad, Razor equally retaliated by ntioning Brutus' bad habits and uncontrollable emotions.
"Brutus always loses his emotions when fighting, so it would be dangerous for Boss' companion to spar with him," Razor said, giving a judgntal look at Brutus.
"Hmph, I lose my emotions? Then what about you who continuously fire at the dead corpses without holding anything back?" Brutus snorted.
"Enough!" Carn, who could no longer endure their argunt, shouted fiercely.
"You too, Guild Leader. Stop making them have internal conflict!" She then scolded Xu Feng.
"What did I do?" Xu Feng twitched his mouth in disbelief. All he did was suggest Brutus to be her sparring partner, but it was Razor who wanted to snatch his companion's money.
How innocent was he?
"Hmph, these two could spar with
simultaneously." Carn crossed her arms and suggested. "Since you love spending money, then you might as well pay them both an additional 5 gold coins."
"W-What the?"
Before Xu Feng could even argue, Brutus stood up, knocking Xu Feng off in the process.
At the sa ti, Razor also turned his attention to Carn as the two exclaid, "That's a great idea!"

Having witnessed Carn's fierce scolding and how the overbearing Xu Feng beca sowhat speechless, they knew who was the person in charge.
Instead of currying favor with Xu Feng, they would rather curry favor with soone like Carn who didn't let pettiness control her.
Just like that, Xu Feng was banished to the sideline, while Carn proceeded to spar with Razor and Brutus.
'Am I the guild leader here or what?' Xu Feng was in disbelief at how he got pushed to the side. The money was coming out of his pocket, but the respect was being given to Carn.
However, he couldn't even say anything once he noticed Brutus and Razor began sparring with Carn wholeheartedly.
"Lady Lunar Wraith, your casting speed is too slow," Razor responded honestly. "My fire rate is already minimized, but you still failed to react in ti. If it was a real battle, I would have already riddled you with bullets."
Brutus nodded in agreent. "Even if Razor took a back seat, my armor could easily ignore your summoned Elentalist and my axe could cut you in half."
Carn knitted her brows, taking their constructive criticism to mind. Indeed, without her advancent to Tier 1, her action and casting speed were slow.
Although she tried to react in ti to her opponent's move, Razor's firing rate was simply too fast.
She scratched her head and asked, "Then what should I do to improve? I can summon the Elentalist early and make the first move, but Razor's movent is too fast."
"My movent may be fast, but that doesn't an I'm invincible." Razor corrected.
"To hit a target that moves fast, you should not attack where I am, but where I will be at." He continued, giving Carn so advice.
His advice was great in saying that Carn should predict where he would be and attack there, but saying it and doing it was easier said than done.
Razor had decreased his speed trendously to allow Carn a chance to win, but even so, she had difficulty pinpointing his actual whereabouts.
All she saw was a bunch of afterimages, and when she thought the final figure was Razor, it was an empty shell.
"Their explanation might be hard for you to comprehend." Xu Feng suddenly opened his mouth and said, "Don't try to use your naked eyes to detect Razor's presence. Instead, sense the mana fluctuation and focus on the spreading of mana to determine Razor's appearance."
"As expected of the Boss' explanation," Razor lightly said.
Brutus nodded his head, agreeing with the explanation.
They weren't so great lecturer who could teach others, so their explanation might seem difficult to understand. Yet Xu Feng managed to grasp the point and explained it clearly.
