Chapter 1440: Hit List Part 4
By the ti Xu Feng had left the area, Veronica quickly tead up with Carn to form Team 1.
Nobody questioned their teaming as only Veronica could possibly interact with Carn at ease.
With the first team decided, the rest soon proceeded to form their own.
Team 2 consisted of Sweet Sky and Cindersong.
Team 3 consisted of Blue Star and Lightning Blade.
Lastly, Team 4 consisted of Dark Night and VenomPulse.
"Song and I will hit this Garrison City." Sweet Sky said. She had explored Garrison City before and understood the layout. Though she still turned to Cindersong, clearly asking for her opinion.
Cindersong opened her map and checked where Garrison City was located. It wasn’t that far, but it wasn’t close either.
She calculated silently and predicted they would need around 45 minutes or so to reach there. "I don’t mind."
With the Garrison City checked off, the others began to check the hit list location.
And to their absolute dismay, Garrison City was actually the closest to where they were.
"Damn, Sweet Sky is actually a shrewd sky..." Lightning Blade twitched his brows.
Blue Star nodded and began looking at her with wary eyes.
What nonsense about exploring there before?
Wasn’t it just because it was the closest and saved them a lot of travel money?
"The Guild Captain and I will head to Numon City then." Carn suddenly said.
When the others heard that, they looked at her in admiration. Numon City was the furthest from them and was quite complicated as a city.
Veronica smiled bitterly at her friend’s words.
She wanted to refuse, but doing so would definitely dampen her prestige and reputation.
Just when she was thinking about how to scold Carn later, she received a private ssage.
Lunar Wraith: Don’t worry, I have the Void Portal. We don’t even need half an hour to reach there by using portals.
Veronica’s eyes widened in disbelief. ’She’s even shrewder than Sweet Sky. No, she has been corrupted by the Guild Leader. Bring
back my sweet and innocent Carn!’
"Which city do you want, Star?" Lightning Blade didn’t really care about the city they had to hit.
"Hmm, I guessed we could hit Starion City." Blue Star pondered for a mont and decided on a city that had the Star word involved. She didn’t like how there was another star nad City.
"Okay, Starion City it is." Lightning Blade had no objection. His eyes flashed in a glint of light as he sentenced this city to be history.
As they decided on the cities, they wasted no ti in proceeding with their journey.
Dark Night and VenomPulse glanced at each other briefly before deciding to just spin the wheel. They didn’t really care about the distance or the city itself.
While they made up their mind and proceeded to head toward their respective cities, Xu Feng arrived at Star Falls City via the Teleport Platform from Haven Wind Town.
"Welco back, Viscount Lin Feng." Jessica from the Adventure Guild greeted him with an awkward smile. "You really know how to make yourself an enemy of so many nobles at once."
"Thank you for the complint." Xu Feng smiled lightly and greeted her.
"How are you doing, Jessica? I can see your eyes no longer have a dark circle."
"Are you blind?" Jessica hissed. Anybody could see the panda eye she was having from the amount of workload she had to do.
He shrugged in response. This was common courtesy to complint soone whom you haven’t seen for a while.
Moreover, he wanted to lighten the atmosphere.
"Sigh, you don’t really seem worried at all with all these accusations." Jessica frowned. To be honest, she was displeased with these fencesitters nobles.
The world was in turmoil, but all they cared about was their selfish motive.
Like seriously?
What profit could there be shared if their world were overrun by the Colossuses?
Not to ntion, she was certain that with the intel network from so of these nobles, they should know that Xu Feng deserved the Viscount rank.
At a ti when mounts were heavily coveted, Xu Feng donated a lot, which helped their armies to repel most of the Colossuses’ armies.
Hell, so of the repelling done benefited them, too.
"Should I be worried about so clowns dancing around?" Xu Feng mused.
He wasn’t a bit worried that the judges would rule him guilty.
After all, the higher nobles with selfish motives might not care, but the judges were a different story.
They knew very well what it ant to hand him a guilty verdict.
anwhile, Jessica also took the ti to calm down.
"You’re right... Just the Arcane Vein alone grants you immunity." Jessica hadn’t forgotten who the true owner of the vein was. Even now, the Aetheria Empire was using the very resources found in the Arcane Vein to craft weapons and many utilities to support the war.
Although the suppliers on paper were listed as Star Falls City, those from the top knew Xu Feng was the real owner.
If he were to ever close the Arcane Vein, then they would be devastated.
"Well, I’m glad you still ca because that way you can shut up a lot of people’s mouths. The City Lord and Mister Howard had already sent petitions to vouch for your credibility."
"Is that so?"
A few monts later, the two would continue to talk as they made their way to the Adventure Guild.
The Adventure Guild was interconnected.
The current players wouldn’t know, but one could travel from one adventure guild to another within their built-in transportation.
As for why Xu Feng chose to co to Star Falls City, it was simply because the cost of the Teleport Platform had risen trendously.
To save himself money, he might as well have the Adventure Guild foot the bill to transfer him to the Aetheria Empire.
"I know you probably don’t care, but I hope you can at least try to remain respectful to the accusers. They are the types to kill with words and not violence."
