Chapter 1358: Aetheria Empire Part 5

"Boss, there’s more hounds coming!" Ken shouted in alarm.

"More hounds?" Xu Feng narrowed his eyes coldly. Throughout their journey to head toward the coordinates sent by Evelyn, they had encountered multiple hounds.

The deeper they ventured, the more cunning and frightening the hounds were.

Based on these incidents alone, he could effectively confirm the enemy was indeed a Tier 4 Summoner, who had summoned a large number of hounds in the Oracle Region.

The first hounds they stumbled across were rely the furthest range of the Tier 4 Summoner.

And it was even likely that the hounds they encountered were scouting for so people.

As for who?

If he had to make a guess, it was probably the Aetheria Empire’s scout army.

Just what kind of secret did the scout army discover to involve a Tier 4 Summoner to risk it all to chase after them?

The longer a Tier 4 person uses their spells, the greater the mana density would beco in the area.

And once the mana density exceeded a certain amount, it would quickly alert the other higher-tier people.

"Feng, I’m about to run out of mana." Carn frowned deeply. This was the first ti she was on a low mana reserve. Because the enemies were far too evasive and strong, the mana output was high, but the recovery remained low.

Even with Xu Feng’s buffs, she was nearly on the red in mana.

"No need to summon more voidlings. If they die, then they die." Xu Feng calmly said. The consumption of repeatedly summoning more voidlings to assist the Demoness Army was helpful, but the result wasn’t ideal anymore.

He needed her to use other skills besides the voidlings.

"I understand," she smiled bitterly. She had never felt so helpless until now. The gap between Tiers was really being shown here. A Tier 4 Summoner could single-handedly pressure 52 Tier 2 people with extre ease.

While she was feeling bad, she suddenly felt Xu Feng’s hand sliding through her waist.

"Don’t be too disappointed, Carn." He smiled warmly. "Once you reached Tier 4, your power would be many tis higher than this enemy."

"Really?"

"Of course. I’ll be eating soft rice from you when that day cos."

"You want to eat soft rice? It’s very expensive to coax

if you want to get my soft rice."

Upon hearing that, Xu Feng didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He had already eaten her cleanly and daily.

’Definitely can’t say it aloud.’ He cleared his throat and changed the topic. Those who wished to court death were free to say such things to their partners.

But him?

Sorry, he had no interest in shooting himself in the foot.

"We should be near Evelyn’s side soon." He narrowed his eyes and said.

Evelyn had sent him another urgent ssage of distress, which goes to show their predicant was far more dangerous than he imagined.

"Even they can barely sustain themselves?" Carn was dumbfounded. It had only been a little less than 5 minutes since Evelyn’s call for help.

"They don’t have an NPC army as we do."

"True, how can they possibly have the connections I have?"

"Haha, you sound very prideful."

"Naturally," she smirked and embraced him. "I managed to snatch you away from so many won. If I’m not prideful, then what am I?"

As the two continued their flirting, Ken and the other NPCs rolled their eyes. If it weren’t for the fact that they were their boss, they might really pull their weapons to attack them.

This goddamn PDA was too much!

PDA, which stood for public display of affection, was the bane of all singles.

"Leader, I want to beat the boss down."

"Sa here..."

Ken pacified his comrades and gestured for them to quiet down.

"Shh, the boss is our money tree. Do you really want to beat down the money tree and cut off our wealth?" Ken explained, his hands secretly clenching tightly. As long as he reminded himself that Xu Feng was their money tree, he could suppress his internal fury.

Otherwise, he feared that he would really kill this damn money tree!

Thankfully, the PDA didn’t remain for long as the group finally heard the battle sound from afar.

"Healers, keep up the healing! The tanks are being overwheld!"

CarnageBound’s voice resounded on the battlefield as he desperately tried his best to command his teammates.

"The right side is being flanked on. Cover at this point." Following CarnageBound was Evelyn, who took on the vice commander role to cover for the opening spots.

Just when Evelyn was about to cover for her subordinates, a hound, who had been lying in wait, erged from the bushes.

Evelyn noticed the danger and tried to teleport away, only to be hit with a system warning.

[System Notification: You have been targeted by an enemy’s spell! Unable to use movent spells for 10 seconds.]

"Crap!" She smiled bitterly and waited for her fate. Her pitiful shield wasn’t going to do much when even the tankers struggled to defend themselves.

With her mobility restricted, she was extrely easy to kill.

Evelyn shut her eyes. She was ready to et her fate in being killed.

In the anti, the hound raised their sharp claws, ready to slash through Evelyn’s defense and her life as well.

CLANK!

However, it was at that mont that the hound’s sharp claw encountered a dense barrier. Its anger soared to a new peak upon seeing that its prey was still alive.

"Eh, I’m not dead?" Confused, Evelyn opened her eyes and noticed the transparent barrier separating her from the ferocious hound.

Amidst her confusion, she suddenly heard a voice from afar.

"Oy oy, a hound should learn to kneel and grovel when eting their master. How dare you raise your claws?" Xu Feng erged from the sky, his silhouette practically shining under the sun.

’Good thing I’ve arrived in ti.’ He appeared in front of Evelyn and imdiately propelled the hound. Thankfully, he activated Phantom Step and rushed ahead when he heard the screaming from the mbers of the Malefic Order Guild.
