Chapter 1306: Carn’s Early Journey Part 3

Oakwood Town, Teleport Platform

A figure erged from the platform, who was a level 1 Summoner.

She was none other than Carn. Having accepted Griselda’s mission, she received a free teleportation to escape from RedEagle Town.

"Haa, life really knows how to have ups and downs." Carn smiled bitterly. She stared at her status screen that showed her as level 1. Initially, she was already level 2 and close to level 3.

Unfortunately, the PK event caused her to lose the majority of the experience points. Not to ntion, the items that she had painstakingly gathered from killing the monsters were dropped upon her death.

One could say that she was truly penniless.

"Forget it... let’s just do the mission quickly." There was no pill for regret. Carn also knew that she must make haste if she wished to obtain vengeance.

She had investigated the Reaver Guild in advance and finally figured out who they were.

It was no wonder that the team she had ford earlier all dipped her in fear.

The Reaver Guild was famous in previous VRMMORPG and was known for their arrogant, tyrannical-like manner.

Although they weren’t that highly ranked, they were still widely feared among players. This supposed reputation was even brought over to the Divine World, which had just launched.

Despite the conflict she would have to face, Carn refused to submit. She wanted to quit because there was no lingering attachnt earlier. But now that she has accepted a mission from Librarian Griselda, she mustn’t abandon her trust.

Without hesitation, she began to gather the necessary materials.

"The monster is said to be an Ironhide Behemoth, a very high-level and tough opponent." Carn furrowed her brows. She understood the difficulty, but still wished to try. Being a wanted target of the Reaver Guild, this might be her one shot to overturn the situation.

’Hmph, that Hundred Ghost and his despicable guild! I’m never going to join one like theirs at all.’ She vowed silently. To play together with such a guild or player was destined to ruin one’s ntality and brain cells.

She promptly left the town to begin harvesting the required materials, as well as selling so to earn money.

3 hours later...

"Phew, that should be all the materials I can gather." Carn panted heavily. She hadn’t done such manual labor for a long ti.

Who could have imagined a ga would make her sweat so much?

Despite the labor work, Carn found herself enjoying the simplistic and basic nature of life. Although there were occasional glances and stares from other players, she was used to it.

Her beauty was natural, so it was only right that people would pause and admire her appearance.

Soti later, she was about to return to the town from the walkway, only to end up seeing people waiting outside the town’s gate.

’It’s them again!’ Livid, Carn couldn’t understand these pestering bastards.

She had already escaped RedEagle Town, so how did she get tracked down again?

She was certain that they were coming after her when their conversation wasn’t the least discreet.

The players from the Reaver Guild openly discussed how she offended their guild and was destined to be targeted everywhere.

Frustrated, Carn gritted her teeth and paid so money to purchase a Return Scroll.

Knowing that the death penalty wasn’t going to be lenient, she chose to spend a bit for safety.

As she arrived at the Teleport Platform, Carn was once again startled by the sight.

Next to the Teleport Platform was actually a group of players from the Reaver Guild, who were waiting all along.

"Hehe, I told you that she would use a Return Scroll to co back!"

"Hmph, can’t believe I lost the bet. To think she was actually this cowardly."

"Hahaha, I’ll tell you a trick. Place a few brothers out in the entrance and have them speak loudly. That way, she would definitely be able to eavesdrop!"

"Damn, you’re one cunning bastard!"

The Reaver Guild mbers chattered loudly and taunted Carn’s action publicly without any regard for her presence.

’These despicable people...’ Carn’s mood quickly soured.

Her hatred and disgust toward the Reaver Guild had peaked to the maximum.

She was actually being played like a fiddle.

As Carn chose to ignore their sneering remarks, they didn’t stop at all.

"Hehe, a Return Scroll costs at least 5 copper coins. I wonder if she can even afford another one."

"Hahaha, we’ll just camp her outside the town. The mont she leaves, we’ll kill her."

’Reaver Guild... I’ll make you pay in the real world.’ Carn feigned deafness and proceeded to the Adventure Association.

She registered as an Adventurer in advance to complete two missions in one attempt.

It was efficient and helped her earn money as well.

Soti later, Carn earned a total of 1 silver coin and 35 copper coins.

However, her wealth quickly went down to 10 copper coins.

’What happened to my money?’ Startled, Carn hurriedly checked her inventory.

[System Notification: You have spent 1 silver and 25 copper coins on protection fees!]

"Protection fees?" Alard, Carn quickly recalled a system prompt that had appeared when she was killed previously.

There was sothing called a protection shield, which she accepted in a daze.

Feeling lost, Carn glanced around the town’s surroundings. Being targeted and losing her hard-earned money in one accidental click caused her mood to be dampened.

All those preparations were for naught.

With only 10 copper coins remaining, could she even hire a rcenary?

While she was pondering, her stomach suddenly growled.

"Even hunger is so realistic here..." Carn felt like crying, but endured and resisted her emotion from letting out.

Still, having spent so much ti and effort already. She decided to test her luck and head to the rcenary Association, hoping that so miracle would happen.

’10 copper coins probably won’t be enough to hire a rcenary, but maybe fate will intertwine.’ She thought to herself. With a hazy and fragile outlook to the future in the Divine World, she paced herself to the rcenary Association.

And right when Carn was making her way, from afar, a figure was seen being pushed by nurous players, with so even calling him a loser.

"Wait, how is this loser using the exclusive path to walk?" A nearby Reaver Guild player exclaid in disbelief when the mysterious figure was able to access the exclusive path.
