Chapter 1226: Charming
The atmosphere in the scene turned rather awkward.
Just how many more people wanted to take advantage of him?
Besides trying to take advantage, they even openly declared their desire. It was as if they didn’t care whether he learned their true motive or not.
"Do you even have any acting skills?" Xu Feng asked.
"Why would I need acting skills?" Serena chuckled.
"As an imperial chef, I’ll just need to display my cooking technique. Moreover, it’s skills that can be studied. So technically, your short drama rating and revenue would only increase with my participation." She raised her chin and confidently boasted.
’Damn, she’s got a point.’ Xu Feng couldn’t argue with that point.
What she exuded was confidence, and not arrogance.
To him, those who had the skills indeed held such rights. If their roles were to be swapped, then Xu Feng might have requested sothing even more outrageous.
"Very well," he nodded in agreent. "I might agree, but you still need to go through one person."
"One person?"
"Mhmm, you’ll have to earn the approval of Director Carn. She’s the one in charge of the whole production, including my scenes. If she says yes, then nobody would dare to say no."
"Director Carn..." Serena repeated the na and kept it to heart. She had heard about this na from the custors for a while now. They all feared yet revered her deeply. This goes to show that Carn wasn’t soone simple.
To be able to order even Cool Wind around ant that her status was rather high in the Vanguard Guild.
"Anyway, grill
so more skewers." Xu Feng pointed at a few raw skewers and requested.
The ones she gave him were devoured already, but his stomach had yet to be filled.
"Are you going to pay?" Serena asked.
"Didn’t you say it was free of charge?" Xu Feng frowned.
"Yes, free of charge for the first batch of skewers." She nodded and continued, "If you want more, then you obviously need to pay up. Don’t tell
you think I got these ingredients for free? Moreover, don’t you know the ti and effort required to put the ingredients into the sticks?"
"..."
Silent, Xu Feng had nothing to rebuke her. After all, it was indeed ti-consuming to put the ingredients into a single stick.
One must repeat the process continuously to have a large batch of raw skewers ready to be grilled.
"How much is a batch then?" Xu Feng asked. He tried to look for the nu price, but realized she didn’t even have it labeled.
"For you, 500 dollars."
"500 dollars?"
Xu Feng jumped up, almost as if his tail had been stepped on.
"Why don’t you just go rob a bank?" He hissed coldly.
Although the economy lately was terrible, that didn’t give her the right to extort him for such an amount.
No matter how tasty the skewers were, at most, they should only cost around 40-50 dollars.
"Brother Feng, ah, Brother Feng." Serena clicked her tongue and shook her head.
"Do you think the skewers I’ve prepared for you are the sa kind that I sold to your other employees?" She snickered and revealed another set of skewers.
As Xu Feng glanced at the set, his eyes widened in shock.
Those marbling in the at were a complete far cry from the previous ones that she was grilling.
"Now, do you think the price I set was too much?" She teasingly asked.
"Way too little..." He honestly replied. With a single glance, he could discern that one skewer alone cost more than 500 dollars.
Not to ntion, the special seasoning and cooking skill of Serena would legit elevate the skewer to a whole other level.
"At least you know how to be honest." Serena nodded in approval. She would have been extrely disappointed if Xu Feng dared to feign ignorance.
Given his cooking skill in the Divine World, Serena concluded that he also understood ingredients and their values.
This could be considered a small test of his character and whether he was truly worthy of the rumors.
"Anyway, help
move the stall to your filming set." Serena requested. "I reckon your scene is coming up soon, so let’s not delay it."
Xu Feng nodded in agreent.
A few minutes later, the two arrived at the set, which garnered quite the attention.
"Isn’t this the goddess who set up the stall on the outside periter?"
"I heard so people ntioned she was closing it because of Senior Feng. But looking at the two of them together, that didn’t seem to be the case."
"Hah, looks like Senior Feng has bagged another woman. It should have been !!!"
While the onlookers gossiped among themselves, Carn’s eyes narrowed slightly.
’When did Xu Feng beco so frivolous?’ She was astounded that he kept increasing the number of won on his side.
By the ti Xu Feng got close to her, Carn glared at him with an unfriendly look.
"Are you that starving for won?" She asked softly.
"Starving for won?" Confused, Xu Feng tilted his head and explained, "Serena is a chef, and she has the cooking skills. I’ve recruited her to cook us so delicious als to regenerate our ntality and stamina."
"Just that simple?"
"Of course."
Hearing the explanation, Carn sighed softly. She shifted her eyes slightly toward Serena and realized the woman indeed held no admiration for Xu Feng.
’Ugh, this Tang Sanzong is really attracting more and more demons.’ Without her knowing, Carn realized she had so many competitors.
To think that her hesitation had ultimately resulted in such a predicant.
She couldn’t help but bla herself for lacking the courage.
"Feng, can you not be so charming?" Carn pursed her lips and wanted to smack him in the head.
"Charming? What kind of sick joke was that?" Amused, Xu Feng never found himself charming to others. If anything, the won he played with in the past tiline were only after his money. One could even say it was a transaction deal with no strings attached.
