Chapter 1133: Tier 2 Carn
Farukas’s mouth curled into a wicked grin as he managed to deceive Carn and took the opportunity to eliminate a healer.
Although he had no idea about Carn’s skills, his instinct told him that she was not an easy opponent. Since that was the case, he needed to eliminate all possible obstacles that could hinder his ability.
And who else but a healer could beco his biggest hindrance?
"A healer is weak in defense." Farukas sneered. "You can only bla yourself for being in the wrong place."
"Um, you’re not fooling anyone though..." Amidst Farukas’ drunken laughter, Xu Feng suddenly broke the ice.
He pointed behind him and said, "Your back is now exposed to my companion. And she’s just right behind you~"
"WHAT???!" Startled and alard, Farukas turned around with a defensive stance.
Unfortunately, what greeted him was empty air.
The woman was still from afar, clearly slow in reacting to detect his slyness.
"Shit, you immortals are so devious!"
Upon realizing he had been tricked and played for a fool. Farukas hurriedly turned back around, only to notice Xu Feng had already tucked his tail and fled.
"Shouldn’t have listened to your enemy’s words." Xu Feng teased. "You’re even worse than your caster, who fell for my words."
"Maybe that’s why he answered the summoning calls. Both of them are struggling to share that single brain cell." Carn chid in and launched a few spells toward Farukas.
Angered by the result of being fooled, Farukas roared thunderously. He rose to his full height, his jagged horns scraping the edge of the cavern ceiling.
His burning eyes swept over the battlefield as he deflected the spells with ease before locking on Carn.
"You sll of the void... what a foul stench." His eyes narrowed, each word dripping with malice.
"And you reek in body odor." Carn spat, coming down to the ground from her flight to safeguard Xu Feng.
Her grip tightened around her staff as she knew the battle had started. With a flick, she slamd the staff into the ground.
In the blink of an eye, shadows coiled out like liquid smoke, forming a protective do of shifting darkness.
Seeing her attempt to defend the healer, Farukas snarled and slashed with one claw, sending a crimson shockwave crashing against the do.
Unfortunately, the intense shockwave rely caused a ripple as the do swallowed the attack whole.
’So profound!’ Dumbfounded, Farukas didn’t expect the attack to be ineffective. That claw strike alone contained at least 75% of his overall damage.
Realization soon dawned upon Farukas that the woman in front of him was also Tier 2.
"No wonder you two were acting so calm and collected. You have the power of a Tier 2." Farukas failed to discern the power of Carn until now.
She had truly known how to conceal her ability well.
"Wow, it took you long enough to figure that out." Carn chuckled. She knew the issue of her power being exposed was guaranteed.
What she cast was Tier 2 Void Barrier, an advanced defensive Voidmancer’s spell that could absorb the enemy’s attack to supplent its sustainability.
Unless one could completely nuke the barrier in a single or combined shot, it would be nearly impossible to break through the do.
"Guild Leader, please stay inside the do." Carn lightly said. "As long as you’re there, the demon can’t harm you. I want to test out so many new skills on him without needing to worry about you."
"..."
Speechless, Xu Feng sohow assud the role of a damsel in distress.
He scratched his head and inquired, "Then do you want any buffs from ?"
"No need," she flatly refused. "I want to limit test myself and see how I fare against a Tier 2 Demon. Also, absolutely no back seating either! If you do... then I’ll..."
It was at that mont she realized there was nothing she had in mind that could be used against him. Although there were so obvious ones, such as quitting the guild, she had no intention of doing so.
And she was certain such a threat wouldn’t work on him either.
Luckily for her, though, Xu Feng wasn’t soone with lots of pride or ego.
He would gladly take the backseat and let her do the work if she desired.
"Suit yourself," Xu Feng raised his hands. "But don’t co crying to
in mid-battle."
"You underestimated
too much, Guild Leader," Carn smirked and exited the do.
"Hoh, I thought you’d be hiding in your turtle shell." Farukas raised an eyebrow. "Or are you trying to do a prolonged battle with the healer assisting you?"
"You can save the probing. He’s just going to spectate and won’t interfere. That is, of course, if you wanted him to assist ."
"Hmph, how would I know if you’re lying?"
"Well, then you just have to figure it out along the fight."
Shortly after saying so, Carn’s eyes glinted in a cold light.
She wielded her hand staff and unleashed Tier 2 Void Vortex.
Soon, a tornado colored in purple hues and filled with voidlings erged from the ground.
"Hmph, puny wind!" Farukas snorted coldly. He ignored the vortex and lunged forward. His fangs were gnashing together, extending his claws, poised in an attempt to rend her in two.
Knowing that the vortex alone wouldn’t be enough against a Tier 2 Demon, Carn’s hand snapped upward, shooting out threads of violet light, weaving in a threatening aura.
At the sa ti, within the vortex, a colossal, featureless beast with glowing eyes erged. It was one of her void summons in the Tier 2 Class, albeit with reduced attributes.
’Another summoned creature?’ Alard, the demon finally realized the severity as he tried to divert to another path.
Alas, it was a little bit too late. The creature intercepted Farukas, catching his claw in its shadowy grasp.
The ground trembled heavily under the force.
"You dare pit an inferior creature against ??!" Farukas bellowed, blasting the void beast backward with a burst of fla from his maw.
Carn didn’t flinch.
’Let’s see you try to blast again!’ She raised her staff again, and the darkness under Farukas’s feet erupted into writhing tendrils.
"Abyss Chains."
Instantly, the void-tentacles wrapped around his limbs, dragging and tightening with a hiss.
Farukas roared, muscles bulging as he tore one chain apart. But the mont he freed himself, Carn’s other hand traced a sigil midair.
A black sphere condensed in her palm. It was small, dense, and pulsing with unstable power.
"Void Collapse!"
