Chapter 1090: Nightmare Descend

Reading Evelyn’s ssage, which was basically a warning and reminder, Xu Feng was left speechless.

’Just what is wrong with her?’ He was truly confused and dumbfounded by her action.

Was she really that much of a traitor to be exposing her guild’s information to him?

Or was this a sche for her to first gain his trust and then take him down in one fell swoop?

Xu Feng seriously couldn’t make heads or tails. He scratched his head and decided to read more about what she was trying to convey.

The ssage was quite extensive, with many nas being dropped and the prominent guilds that were going to take the lead in the siege of his town.

So of the participating guilds just happened to be in Xu Feng’s recollection of the past tiline for being involved with the Colossus.

"Doesn’t seem like it to be a lie." Xu Feng muttered. Since he could recall so of them, there was a high chance that Evelyn was telling the truth.

However, it was precisely because of that high possibility that made him question her intention.

Why help him?

What benefit does it bring to her?

There were so many questions, but none with any answers to clear his doubts.

He couldn’t understand illogical actions as opposed to logical and greedy actions.

Unable to suppress his curiosity, he made the choice to reply to her.

Cool Wind: Why are you telling

all this? I don’t reckon we have enough interaction for you to provide

with such extensive information.

Almost as soon as he sent the text, there was a reply right away.

Evelyn: That’s what you think. We certainly have enough interaction in my book.

Cool Wind: You’re weird...

Evelyn: Oh my, thanks for the complint. See, we’re already getting to know each other quite well.

At this mont, Xu Feng nearly felt a cold chill running down his spine—no, actually, every part of his body.

He swallowed a mouthful of saliva as he realized that Evelyn might be a bit of a cuckoo. In other words, she was either crazy in general or her mind was functioning on a different wavelength compared to normal people.

Unwilling to entangle further with her, Xu Feng decided to temporarily put aside his Cool Wind alias.

He still had many other aliases anyway.

And speaking of aliases, Xu Feng reckoned it was ti for Eclipse Nova to show up after such a long absence.

’I’m level 48 now, and should be at the top of the leaderboard, right?’ He thought and opened the level ranking board.

The level ranking board was now global and live, with updates every 30 seconds. Players who wish to have their na known would opt in to enable their na to be listed.

Of course, if one doesn’t wish to be known, they weren’t forced to opt in. And on the off-chance that a player regretted opting in, they were free to opt out at any ti.

However, there was still a possibility that so players might have screenshot the level ranking board already. After all, once you post sothing in public or on the internet, it is hard to delete it permanently.

As the level ranking board opened, Xu Feng’s face twitched slightly.

"Is she a monster?" He pursed his lips, his eyes staring directly at the number 1 player on the list.

It was none other than Lunar Wraith, aka Carn, sitting at the top of the board at level 49.

Looking at her high level, he wasn’t jealous or anything. Instead, he realized why she hadn’t bothered to ssage him one bit.

She knew he was busy, so she used this action to prove a point. Carn had never revealed her level to the public. It was kind of her motto to hide her level to create a sense of mystery.

Yet she threw that mystery away almost as soon as he made the decision to declare anyone related to the Miracle Pavilion as hostile.

"She must have wanted to deter the others." He exhaled softly. Normally, such an action would have deterred others from acting against them. But the enemies this ti wouldn’t play fair. They would use their overwhelming numbers to swarm at them.

Just like how one single tough boss could falter in the face of many ants, Carn’s action had inadvertently caused her to beco a priority target to be killed.

After all, Carn was the face of the Vanguard Guild, and her death would demoralize everyone in the guild.

While Xu Feng looked at the task in his mission list, elsewhere, the situation had already turned into a nightmare.

Outskirts of Star Falls City

At the outskirts, a group of people wearing the Vanguard Guild emblem were retreating hastily while they were being pursued by a large number of players.

"Damn it, these players are very relentless!"

"Less cursing and more running. We need to retreat to the city for safety. They lock down the area with so ragged scrolls to prevent us from teleporting. It’s obvious they have co prepared for us."

"I still don’t understand how our position got exposed. We’re wearing the Stealth Cloaks."

While the mbers from the Vanguard Guild were caught off-guard by the sudden ambush, their hopes of retreating to the city faltered once they realized another group of players was waiting by the entrance gate.

"Haha, the arrogance of you Vanguard Guild people is over."

"Did you seriously think you were still an Overlord when you riled up almost everyone?"

Facing such a situation, the mbers of Vanguard Guild didn’t panic or cower.

Instead, one of them stepped forward and asked, "Which group do you belong to?"

Alas, his question was t with a series of attacks launched at them.

Knowing that the enemies intended to conceal their background, the mbers nodded at each other.

They all fled in multiple directions while hoping to retaliate and destroy their enemies.

Unfortunately, the numbers disadvantage was far too high for them to alter their inevitable fate.

In the end, less than 10 minutes later, the group of Vanguard Guild mbers had fallen in battle.

Their death was recorded and posted in the Ga Forum titled Nightmare Descend: Vanguard Guild’s End!
