Chapter 1089: Split The Cake
The person who had just entered the channel, Divine News, was none other than Luther.
To those unfamiliar with the na, Luther was the representative of Miracle Pavilion and the person in charge of the guild’s rankings list.
Xu Feng knew this person very well because he was given quite the treatnt in the past tiline by this particular man.
His eyes narrowed as he continued to watch these anchors discuss the events with Luther.
"Everyone now should be familiar with Mr. Luther, who could be said to be the representative of the Miracle Pavilion." Duncan laughed heartily and glanced at Priscilla, seemingly signaling her to ask critical questions.
Prisicilla received the cue and cleverly complinted Luther in a roundabout manner. "Our Divine News is really fortunate to have invited a busy man like you over here."
"It’s alright. I’m still being paid by showing up here." Luther, dressed in a formal, luxurious suit, said jokingly. His charisma and handso features swiftly captured most of the viewers, specifically the female audience.
Many bullet comnts were popping up on another screen despite the slow-mode feature being enabled for 5 minutes.
The most frequent comnts were about the actions that their Pavilion would take.
[Vanguard Guild openly declared us hostile for being involved with the Miracle Pavilion.]
[The Vanguard Guild just kicked players out of their town. They’re too arrogant!]
[Luther, please do sothing about this madness!]
As anchor Priscilla read through the comnts loudly, she cleverly chose the ones that were beneficial to Luther.
After all, not every comnt was enthusiastic or supportive of the Miracle Pavilion. There were still people who actually supported the Vanguard Guild because they knew more insider news than others.
It wasn’t that the Vanguard Guild had gotten arrogant but it was the Miracle Pavilion.
Alas, such comnts were effectively banned by the moderators.
’Divine News, motto is staying neutral and reporting only the truth, huh?’ Xu Feng nearly wanted to laugh aloud at their blatant censorship.
As the news continued to play forth, Luther finally went to the main topic.
"Regarding the Vanguard Guild’s declaration of war, I believe they might have mistyped the opposition’s na." Luther chucked softly.
"Our Miracle Pavilion is a business guild, and building a harmonious relationship with multiple guilds is prioritized. We couldn’t have possibly offended them." He continued, sounding extrely innocent and confused by the situation.
And as if on cue, anchor Duncan tapped his fingers on the desk and shook his head.
"I think you might be incorrect, Mr. Luther. Based on our findings, it appears that the Vanguard Guild had opened their own chamber of comrce and coerced players to beco mbers. Isn’t that a clash of interest between the two of you now?" Duncan reported.
"Right, that’s a clash of interest because both of you are now doing a chamber of comrce. Maybe the Vanguard Guild wanted to test their luck after nurous victories and may have gotten angry." Priscilla yelped and chid in. Her reaction and tone made it seem like she had just discovered the mystery.
Almost imdiately, Luther flashed a helpless expression. "I’ve nearly forgotten about that. Our pavilion did receive so of our mbers’ complaints that they were forced to resign their mbership if they hoped to join the Vanguard Guild to enjoy their town’s training hall."
"Gosh, to think I was a fan of them before." Priscilla gasped in shock and horror.
"I knew there was sothing fishy for an upstart guild to have such a teoric rise despite presenting themselves as a righteous guild. It appears to be all an act, and what was going on behind the scenes was very alarming." Duncan’s face twitched uncontrollably to express his disbelief and astonishnt.
"Now, let’s not co to a conclusion yet." Luther raised his hand and smiled lightly.
"We still don’t know if Vanguard Guild truly intended to label us and all our affiliates as hostile. Maybe soone among the viewers has a connection with them and can help us inquire if they made a mistake or not."
After hearing his part, Xu Feng’s eyes narrowed in a cold light.
Despite being the initiator, this news had inadvertently shifted the tide against them. Now, those unaware would be misled into thinking it was really their Vanguard Guild who had gotten arrogant because of their town and was being overbearing.
People were stupid and dumb!
This statent remained true if they allowed themselves to be manipulated by the dia.
And based on this segnt in the Divine News, Xu Feng reckoned there were bound to be many hostilities directed at him and his guild.
’Too bad for you, though. When one is overwhelmingly powerful, this kind of pitiful trick would be futile.’ He sneered inwardly.
With the loot obtained from the Phantasm Sea, followed by earning the trust of Yaren, he had already constructed the plans to deal with the Miracle Pavilion’s trick.
He was too used to their style: rallying public support, saring their opponents, and gathering their affiliated or allied mbers to do the deed on their behalf.
The Divine News segnt alone already helped them succeed in their first two objectives. As for the last one, it should have already been in the making.
Soti later, Xu Feng returned ho and entered the Divine World.
Divine World, Paradise Plains
The mont he logged in, his inbox notifications quickly resounded. His eardrums nearly burst open if he didn’t turn off the sound for all in a tily manner.
"Jeez, what is with them?" He furrowed his brows. At first, he thought these notifications were all directed to his Lin Feng alias, but to his surprise, it was actually directed to Cool Wind.
Silent, Xu Feng opened the inbox for Cool Wind and saw they were from Evelyn of the Malefic Order Guild.
Evelyn: Hello, it’s
again. This ti, your guild really kicked on a diamond plate. The Miracle Pavilion has already rallied nurous first-rate guilds to join their expedition to siege your town. So Super Guilds also agreed to join to split the cake.
