Chapter 1021: Cursed Myself
A normal chamber of comrce usually costs around 5 silver coins to join.
If an existing mber recomnded another player to join, then the cost could also be lowered to 3 silver coins.
And once you’re part of the chamber of comrce, you never need to pay any more hidden fees. It was a done deal, and the mbership remained permanent unless the mber broke the rules or offended a higher-ranked mber who sought their removal.
However, even in the case of a requested removal of another mber, the reason must be valid and a fee must be paid.
After all, the chamber of comrce would be at a loss repeatedly if so high-ranked mbers wished to eliminate everyone from the supplies.
"What’s with the cursing?" Xu Feng suddenly mused and stared at Natasha.
"Were you surprised by its cheap price or were you astounded because you realized you’re actually a poor bumpkin?" He added, ensuring Natasha felt embarrassed and ashad.
For soone of her stature, it was obvious that she always had people fawning over her.
When had she ever encountered an unruly person like Xu Feng who gave little fuck about her?
"I have the money." Natasha hissed and retrieved 3 gold coins. "See this? I can even tip the rest to Kailey over here."
"Do it then!"
"I said I can, not that I will."
"What a stingy person." Xu Feng rolled his eyes and retrieved 3 gold coins. "Kailey, here’s 3 gold coins. Please register
right now and grant
entry to the training hall. I really can’t stand being near poor people who act like so big shot."
When he finished saying that, there was a slight flinch in his body. After all, he was also one of those poor people who acted like a big shot.
’Ugh, I just cursed myself.’ He realized his mistake but it was already a done deal.
Seeing how Xu Feng paid the 3 gold coins upfront, Natasha clenched her fist and followed along. She refused to be looked down upon and more so by this unscrupulous man known as Nathan.
While frustrated though, Natasha discreetly sends a ssage to her subordinates to investigate Nathan.
There was no way a player who reached level 48 could remain under the radar for this long. There had to be so traces left behind for them to find out.
’I don’t know where you pop out from, but don’t think I’ll let you go this easily.’ Natasha vowed to make Nathan pay for his action.
With two people eagerly shoving their gold coins to her, including any extra as a tip, Kailey’s eyes lit up. She quickly clasped her hands and sent a contract to them.
It was also at this instance that Kailey got to know "Natasha" na even though she already knew.
"So it’s Miss Natasha. You are very fortunate to have made this decision before others did. The Vanguard Guild only intends to allow 100 players to join the chamber for the mont. Once all slots are used up, it would be hard to tell when another slot would open up." Kailey explained to her.
Of course, she didn’t leave Nathan out of the conversation, given that it was thanks to his effort that she managed to reel Natasha in. She was inherently grateful to Nathan, but also very curious of his identity.
While she pretended to be going through the contract details, Kailey was actually sending ssages to Xu Feng, completely oblivious that Xu Feng was receiving both the contract and her secret ssage.
’Wow, she’s really a loyal mber.’ Amazed by her efficiency, Xu Feng nearly wanted to give her a thumbs-up.
In the secret ssage, Kailey described everything about Nathan’s appearance and status screen, along with a suggestion to rope him into the guild.
A few minutes later, Xu Feng signed the contract and beca a Vanguard Chamber of Comrce mber.
Natasha wasn’t far off either as she signed the contract to join. Nevertheless, she made a special requirent that the Vanguard Guild must keep her mbership a secret.
Toward this, Kailey swiftly agreed to it.
"Our Vanguard Guild treats every Vanguard Chamber of Comrce mbership with utmost confidential security. Even mbers are not allowed to divulge other mbers either, and if it was discovered that they divulge it offline, then the mber must be ready to face our wrath." She continued and warned solemnly.
"Can the Vanguard Guild even detect or investigate them offline?" Natasha asked skeptically, but secretly, she was sneering at Kailey’s ridiculous warning. Unless the Divine World system could suddenly operate in the real world, it was almost impossible to conceal confidential information from the real world.
This wasn’t Natasha trying to downplay the Vanguard Guild’s ability, but the concealnt of confidential information from the real world was indeed difficult. Even the Illuminati and other Super Guilds would struggle with this matter.
Hence, extrely important information was only known to a few trusted personnel and no one else.
"Are you going to expose ?" Natasha trusted Kailey’s words but was unsure about Nathan.
"I don’t know. Maybe if you don’t investigate , then I’ll keep your mbership a secret. But if you do, then who knows?" Xu Feng responded ambiguously.
Thud!
Startled, Natasha panicked secretly.
’This man...’ She realized he wasn’t just so impulsive and shaless man who flocked toward any benefit. Instead, he was a deep cunning man who held zero sha.
"As if I want to investigate a nobody!" Natasha rolled her eyes and harrumphed.
With the mbership finalized, Kailey retrieved two sets of tokens for them.
"The training hall entrance is crowded, so the token enables one to teleport inside the building. The token is only permissible by mbers of our chamber of comrce and it’s a one-ti use. If one wants to keep using the token, then they must purchase it with Vanguard Comrce Points." She explained the concept and thod to obtain the token.
’What a goddamn money-grubber guild.’ Natasha furrowed her brows.
