Chapter 1001: Betting Money
Upon hearing Allison calling him a poor bumpkin, Xu Feng nearly puked out a mouthful of blood.
Nothing was more injustice than having a bunch of spoiled heiresses calling you poor!
He was still a bona fide self-made millionaire. But in front of these two heiresses, his wealth was truly nothing.
Nevertheless, they should have still given him so credit and not been so ruthless.
"Yes, I’m a poor bumpkin. I cannot afford to bet in this type of setting." Xu Feng soon composed himself and suppressed his emotions. He realized he tended to lose so of his composure when eting with his old companions.
Although his old companion never held any mories of him, he still rembered vividly as if it was still yesterday’s event.
"Don’t be like that," Allison softly consoled him. "You can still bet. Your forr professor will gladly pay on your behalf."
"Is that really what a professor should say?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow. A professor actively encouraging her students to gamble was definitely a one-way ticket to disciplinary action.
"Well, I’m not your professor anymore." She shrugged. "So the disciplinary action can’t do anything to . Moreover, I took a break from teaching because of this matter."
"You took a break?"
"Yup, the current curriculum is honestly in chaos."
Allison sighed upon ntioning the topics revolving around the teaching curriculum.
"Almost everyone seed to beco a drug addict toward the Divine World. There are even multiple courses about the Divine World and strategy, as well as how one could progress further." She was honestly going crazy.
When did video gas beco so prominent that it got to beco an actual course?
anwhile, Xu Feng wasn’t surprised by the arrangent.
It was just that it was a little bit too fast this ti, but considering how there were more and more players discovering the benefits of playing the Divine World. It would be crazy if the college didn’t implent a course about the Divine World.
Suddenly, Xu Feng ca to a realization.
"No wonder you were claiming to pay on my behalf." He glanced at her with a disbelief expression. "You wanted
to owe you money just in case I lost so then you can ask
to beco a guest lecturer."
"Eh, is that true?" Stunned, Rebecca’s eyes widened. She quickly darted her eyes at Allison.
Sure enough, Allison flashed a bittersweet smile and nearly wanted to pry Xu Feng’s brain open. "How and why did you co to that conclusion all of a sudden? I didn’t even say much to make you suspect it."
Nodding in agreent, even Rebecca shifted her attention to Xu Feng.
Despite being good friends with Allison, she didn’t manage to catch her intention. Yet sohow Xu Feng not only caught on to her intention, he even went on to expose her with extre confidence.
Being stared at by them, Xu Feng kept a calm expression.
"You were sighing earlier about the multiple courses regarding the Divine World. And from your sparkling eyes at , it would be impossible for
to not understand your intention." He explained.
As if that wasn’t enough, he went on to ntion how Allison probably only knew him as being adept with the Divine World.
Moreover, he was never the type to believe in sothing like free lunches.
The re fact that Allison was willing to give him so much money to bet could only an she was looking for sothing in exchange. And as soone who enjoyed teaching but couldn’t understand the rapidly changing curriculum, she naturally would seek an expert to assist her.
"So will you help this poor forr professor?" Allison put on a coy expression and pleaded. "If you co in as a guest lecturer, then you can even promote your Vanguard Guild and recruit multiple talents."
Looking at her coy expression, Xu Feng was left in a dilemma.
’Forget it... consider
repaying you for the past tiline.’ He resigned to his fate and extended his hand.
"I’m not cheap for a guest lecturer."
"Of course."
Satisfied, Allison was gleeful that she managed to convince Xu Feng to do her a great favor. After all, she knew very well how busy this man in front of her could be.
It was extrely hard to get in contact with him. This was why even when her uncle requested her to initiate contact with Xu Feng, she refused adamantly. She wasn’t trying to gatekeep anything, but even she was unsure whether she could contact him.
How embarrassing would it be if she agreed with her uncle’s request and ended up being ignored by her forr student?
"Can the two of you leave the chattering for next ti?" Suddenly, Rebecca’s voice resounded as she urgently said, "The betting is about to end in 1 minute. Are you going to place a bet or not?"
Despite wanting to bet, Rebecca didn’t know who to choose and was waiting for them to decide. After all, she wasn’t familiar with these fighters on stage.
Allison remained quiet and simply turned to Xu Feng for a response. Similar to Rebecca, she was tagging along after knowing Xu Feng was attending. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have even bothered coming here.
The cities competing here weren’t even her origin. To simplify, regardless of which cities won, it wouldn’t affect her whatsoever.
"Then bet on Farios Liam." Xu Feng lightly said. "People tend to underestimate the underdog, but I just so happen to not underestimate people. Liam appears to be the weaker fighter on stage, but his deanor and composure are superior to the confident Samuel."
Back on the stage, Samuel indeed exuded a relaxed and sowhat snarky attitude. It was as if he knew he already won the fight before it had begun.
anwhile, Liam remained in his bubble and blocked off all external factors. His eyes depicted a strong sense of concentration and determination to win.
"Alright, I’ve placed a 5 million bet on Liam." Rebecca clasped her hands and inford them.
"5 million?" Stunned, Xu Feng raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were planning on 3 million."
"Yeah, but Allison said she got you covered. So I added an extra 2 million."
