Li Tian stretched lazily as he walked back toward the Li family estate, the afterglow of victory still lingering in the minds of everyone who had witnessed his performance in the tournant. Though he hadn’t claid the first place, his dominance and composure had been enough to cent his reputation. The family that once ridiculed him, ignored him, or saw him as a stain on their na now had no choice but to acknowledge his existence. Even more so, his na had spread beyond the clan walls—his battles had been discussed in taverns, sects, and among rival families.

But Li Tian himself wasn’t particularly bothered. Recognition was nice, but what he truly enjoyed was watching the stunned faces of those who had once mocked him. He could already imagine the looks he’d be receiving upon returning ho. A faint smirk curved his lips.

As he entered the gates, the guards bowed deeply, their tone respectful. "Young Master Tian."

He nodded casually without slowing his stride, though inwardly he couldn’t help but savor it. These sa guards once sneered at him, sotis even pretending not to hear him when he gave an order. Now, they bent their heads like loyal hounds. The taste of such reversal was sweet, though he pretended indifference.

Inside the grand hall, his father Li Feng sat upon the main seat, his expression calm but his eyes carrying a sharp glint. Around him, the family gathered—stepmothers, brothers, and sisters, each watching Li Tian with their own mixture of curiosity, envy, and wariness.

"Li Tian," Li Feng spoke first, his voice resonant. "You have returned."

Li Tian bowed slightly, enough to show respect but not submission. "Yes, Father."

The silence that followed was heavy, but it was soon broken by one of his older half-brothers, Li Wei. His tone carried both forced cheer and restrained jealousy. "Who would have thought our little brother would shine so brightly at the tournant? Placing third against geniuses from powerful families—it is quite an achievent."

The words were praise, but the undercurrent was obvious. Li Wei didn’t like this sudden change in hierarchy. Li Tian didn’t miss the flicker of bitterness in his eyes.

Another half-brother, Li Jun, added with a sneer, "Though... I suppose luck also plays a role. Not everyone faces opponents suited to their strengths."

Several sisters exchanged glances, so disdainful, others curious. The air grew tense.

Before Li Tian could respond, Li Feng’s voice cut through like a blade. "Enough." His gaze swept over his sons. "Li Tian has proven his strength. From this day forth, his position in the family is acknowledged. Any who belittle him will answer to ."

Gasps rippled through the hall. Li Feng rarely showed open support for anyone outside his favored sons. For him to say this in front of everyone was tantamount to granting Li Tian a seat among the true heirs.

Li Tian t his father’s gaze. Though Li Feng’s face remained stern, there was a faint glimr of approval in his eyes. For the first ti, Li Tian realized his father wasn’t rely indifferent—he had been watching, waiting to see if he was worthy.

One of the stepmothers, the alluring Xu Fang, spoke softly, her tone laced with charm. "Husband is right. Young Tian has grown unexpectedly... capable. It seems we all underestimated him." Her eyes lingered on Li Tian, the corners of her lips curling in amusent, as though she found the whole scene entertaining.

Li Tian caught her look, his own eyes narrowing slightly. Xu Fang was dangerous—not because of hostility, but because she was a woman who could ensnare anyone who let down their guard. Still, he allowed a faint smile to appear, letting her see he wasn’t the boy she once ignored.

Then ca Li Xue. She stood from her seat and walked toward him, her eyes shining with pride that she made little effort to conceal. "Brother Tian," she said warmly, "you were amazing. No one can deny it anymore."

Her words were simple, but her sincerity struck deeper than all the false praises in the room. Li Tian reached out and gently patted her head, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "And I did tell you I wouldn’t let you down, didn’t I?"

Li Xue’s cheeks flushed pink, and she quickly looked away, though her lips curved into a bright smile.

The hall quieted again, tension and shifting allegiances palpable. The brothers scowled, the sisters whispered among themselves, the stepmothers asured their expressions carefully. Li Feng leaned back, his voice final. "Li Tian, from now on, you will participate in the inner clan’s cultivation resources allocation. You’ve earned it. Do not waste this chance."

Li Tian bowed slightly once more. "I won’t, Father."

Inside, however, he was already thinking about how best to use this recognition. Power in the family ant access to cultivation resources, techniques, and influence. And with influence ca opportunities—especially with the won around him, both within and beyond the clan.

Later that evening, after the eting dispersed, Li Tian walked back to his courtyard with Li Xue trailing beside him. The night air was cool, the sky littered with stars.

"You really showed them all," she said, her voice brimming with happiness. "They finally see your worth."

Li Tian glanced at her, noting the way her eyes sparkled. "Does it make you happy?"

"Of course," she replied without hesitation. "I always believed in you. I always knew you weren’t like the others said." She hesitated before adding, more softly, "Now they’ll stop treating you like an outsider."

Li Tian stopped walking, turning to face her. He reached out and lifted her chin gently so she would et his gaze. "Xue’er, even if the whole world saw as worthless, would that change what you feel?"

Her heart raced at his words. She shook her head quickly. "Never."

A low chuckle escaped his lips. "Good. Then their opinions don’t matter." He released her, resuming his walk, though his hand lingered a mont longer than necessary. Li Xue followed, her face red but her heart warm.

As they reached his courtyard, the system’s cold chanical voice echoed in his mind.

[ New Quest Generated: Strength Begets Desire. ][ Objective: Embrace the rewards of victory. Three won currently harbor curiosity, attraction, or hidden desire toward you: Li Xue, Xu Fang, and Zheng Wei. Explore these bonds to deepen influence and satisfaction. ][ Reward: Mid-tier cultivation technique – "Moonshadow Phantom Steps." ]

Li Tian’s eyes glinted with amusent. The system always aligned perfectly with his desires, sotis even dragging out truths he hadn’t fully acknowledged. He leaned against the doorway of his courtyard, gazing at the moon above.

"Looks like things are about to get even more interesting."
