As Raylin entered the training room, Kyle Lunaris couldn’t help but grit his teeth.
’This bastard! You dare to cut off? And you even dare to leave without saying goodbye to my little princess just for a small breakthrough? Bastard! BASTARD!!’
Kyle looked at Selene, seeing a hint of sadness in her moon-like eyes. He couldn’t help but wonder for the hundredth ti:
’What does she even like in that sadist?’
Of course, he knew about her feelings. As her father, he noticed these feelings with just a single glance.
He knew about her love toward Raylin, which only increased in the past 2 months, and he hated that.
Yes, Raylin was treating her well, hiding the other nature that he showed in the combat test, but the existence of that sadistic nature alone concerned him.
That boy was ntally unstable! Was there any sane father that would like to see his daughter with such a person?
Unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything to stop her from loving him. He had tried multiple tis, but she didn’t give up.
What broke his heart even more was Raylin’s feelings.

Kyle understood Raylin’s feelings as well, but he couldn’t help but feel frustration.
In his mind, Selene was perfect. How hadn’t he fallen in love with her after living with her for 2 months?

She was actually talented. And thankfully, her frost affinity worked as a good alternative to Kyle’s water affinity, which allowed him to teach her more than simple illusions.
As Kyle was busy with many different thoughts, a change occurred in the training room.

I took another core from my storage and absorbed it. Instantly, I felt my aether core surging with power.
That feeling reminded of the ti I made my first breakthrough, but more intense. As expected, it was really painful.
[Hehe, this tickles.]
’Shut up, Glutton!’
Of course, he was only feeling so tickles, while I felt like I was being burned alive!
Why couldn’t I have an ability to transfer my pain into him? That would have been really nice.
I took another core and absorbed it, feeling my aether core becoming more unstable.
I gritted my teeth and absorbed 3 more. I could feel that only one remained.
’It’s—it’s finally ti.’
Taking a deep breath, I finally absorbed the last one.
*Crack!*
My eyes almost turned white from the pain.
The outer layer of my core shattered, releasing a wave of aether into the surroundings.
Then slowly, a new layer ford, thicker and more durable than the last one.
So of the released aether infused into my entire body permanently, refining it and turning it into sothing better.
And although I couldn’t feel it, I knew from Yami that sothing similar was happening to my soul. It was getting refined as well.
Gradually, I beca more capable of enduring the pain, and I knew the reason so well.
’My traits are becoming stronger. My pain resistance is improving.’
This happened before when I beca Tier-3. Although the pain was lower back then, the improvent of my pain resistance now was higher than when I reached Tier-3.
Why was the pain this ti significantly higher?
Because I wasn’t supposed to make a breakthrough now! According to Yami, whenever soone reached a new tier, they would need a few months for their soul to rest from the latest breakthrough.
Even when Aria used her wish to take a lot of cores, she didn’t rush to use them.
Of course, unlike her, I couldn’t wait!
’Tomorrow, I’ll find myself in real hell! If so pain is the price of becoming stronger before it, then I’m willing to pay it!’

I shook my head and rembered that Arthur and Limitless were Tier-4 Exalted as well. I wasn’t the only stupid student who was torturing himself. These two would increase our chances of survival significantly.

All my senses improved significantly. I could even sll the remaining scents of Selene and Kyle’s clone. And if sothing showed a terrifying improvent, it would be my eyes.
I could see clearly, really clearly. Everything was visible, smooth and clear in my vision. If I was close enough to an object, I’d see the bacteria on it!
The lightning that was moving through my body was more intense than before. I probably had more temperature and shock resistance now.
Additionally, the space inside beca larger. I could probably fit an entire house inside .
’Wait, that looked wrong...’
I shook my head and focused on the other changes.
My emotions felt more stable. If I went to Isaac’s dream again, I’d likely be able to stay emotionless for more ti.
The difference between the improvents in Tier-3 and Tier-4 was really vast.
I couldn’t help but smile widely. For the first ti, I had confidence in crushing Zephyr’s head!
His stupid affinity would be useless if I hit him before he could cast a barrier!
If he did, It would be a physical fight then!
As my smile vanished, I used my spatial awareness to look at my eyes.
They still had the strange runes from my awakening. Until this day, I didn’t know what they were supposed to do.
Aria had similar runes on her eyes, but even as a Tier-5 Exalted, she still didn’t know anything about them.

I sighed and focused on my soul. There were more changes than just the physical things.
I didn’t forget that I had two soul-bound artifacts.
