[Limitless’s Pov]

’I give up... I can’t fix her today.’

What was the ti... 10 or 12 am? I wasn’t sure.

ntally exhausted, I looked with heavy eyes at my right arm.

Wearing an artificial glove, I was holding Nyxis’ sword upside down from the hilt, while she was still hugging it firmly.

I broke all her swords — promising to fix them later — and this was the best result I got.

She was still getting hurt, but with the other side of the blade covered by the glove, it was less painful than before.

The next mont, I tried to shake my arm and move her away, but she wouldn’t leave it.

I sighed in frustration. "Screw all masochists... why are you even doing this!"

I closed my eyes and decided to sleep.

This was the last free day before the lectures started, so I had to rest properly.

"I can’t sleep without pain."

My eyes widened in shock as Nyxis finally talked. I was waiting for her to continue, but no words ca after.

I sighed as I muttered: "Damn..."

[Raylin’s Pov]

"We are finally safe..."

ntally exhausted, we finally fell on the second section’s ground after passing through the barrier.

Turning my head toward the barrier, I saw hundreds of white rabbits with crimson eyes and small bat wings trying to pass through and reach us.

I gave them the middle finger. "Damn you!"

"How did... hundreds of them gather together!" Selene complained as she gasped for air.

I laughed, "They aren’t hundreds, but only one Tier-3 monster."

Selene’s eyes widened. "How?"

"It’s na is the One-Many Batrabbit." I explained. "That motherfucker can make perfect cloud clones of itself. It isn’t only an affinity, but also an innate ability, like the traits!"

After killing the last ghoul we needed for the mission, that thing ca out of nowhere and began to chase us for hours! I couldn’t make a gate while running, and couldn’t teleport myself and leave Selene alone, so we just kept running until we reached the barrier.

There were so powerful monsters in each area. They were called "bosses" and there were many warnings about entering their areas, but we weren’t in that rabbit’s area! It was really strange.

I sighed. "I wanted to kill the original one, but it was protected by other clones. I need to make a new technique later."

[Can I eat the clones?]

’No.’ I sighed inwardly, looking at the stupid bird on my head. ’Unless you want to eat living clouds, of course.’

[Tsk, no infinite food.]

After resting for a few minutes, I stood up — by teleportation — and extended my hand to Selene.

"Thank you." She took my hand with a smile and stood up.

Then I focused on my aether and began to make a gate. A mont later, a small spatial gate materialized beside us.

We entered the gate and found ourselves beside another barrier.

"You can’t teleport us outside the forest directly?" Selene asked curiously.

I shook my head in response. The barrier was stopping my aether from passing, therefore stopping from making a gate on the other side.

We passed through the barrier, then made another gate before passing through the last barrier.

The next thing I saw was a normal flat ground and great walls surrounding the academy.

"Not bad for our first journey." I smiled as I began to make another gate.

"Mhm."

Entering the gate, we stood in front of the academy’s entrance, but we didn’t enter it imdiately.

Instead, we moved to a special entrance in the wall that led to a room where the students were standing in a line.

We stood at the end of the line as we heard their conversations.

"we were trying to find so fire herbs in the fifth section, but our trash luck made us encounter the three-headed dusa!"

"The bosses are changing their areas recently. They do this 2 tis every year."

"When will the top combat students fight the bosses? I just want to gather minerals in peace..."

’Oh, so encountering that rabbit wasn’t a coincidence.’ I nodded in understanding as I thought about what happened earlier.

Maybe if I read everything about the forest or waited to attend so classes I’d have known.

A few monts later, our turn arrived as we stood before an old dwarf with a long white beard.

"What mission did you take?" He asked blankly in boredom.

"Hunting 5 ghouls. Here are the corpses." With a simple thought, 5 corpses fell on the ground.

"Isn’t that the sadist Black Devil?"

"He didn’t even start classes and went to kill already!"

"I wonder if he was laughing while killing them."

"Black Devil, we love you!"

I raised an eyebrow at their conversations. Was I becoming famous that fast? And Selene was standing beside ! Why was I the only problem here?

[Selene isn’t scary.]

’’A tentacled flesh-eating monster talking about this matter?’

[....I’m just a cute raven. Kaka~!]

The dwarf scanned the ghouls before storing them in his spatial space.

"Only one of them isn’t in a good condition — I’ll give you 14k EC for them. Give your ID."

I nodded as I gave him my ID. Once I saw my coins, I gave 70% of them to Selene as we walked away.

Selene looked at the coins in confusion. "Why is it more than half the coins?"

I patted her head softly. "You did most of the job. I’m not a scamr to shalessly take the half."

A soft smile tugged at her lips. "Thanks..."

After entering the inner academy and moving for so ti, we stood before a quite large building, only a little away from the main building.

Just glancing at the luxurious quartz building was enough to capture our attention. It could easily make anyone curious to see what was being sold there.

At the door, there was a big blank sign, waiting for to give the store a na.

’Maybe later.’

As I extended my hand and opened the door, I was t with... nothing.

Just a wide white space without any purpose yet. The building had 3 normal floors and one floor under the building.

"All the normal floors are empty, so let’s go down."

As I finished speaking, I looked at the corner of the store. There was an opening on the ground.

I opened it quickly, revealing stairs that led under the building.

The floor under the building was a personal workshop. They provided it with everything that I may need to refine any material. All it lacked was the materials themselves.

We returned to the first floor soon after. Scanning the entire building, I made up my mind.

I was going to finish it today and put so artifacts on display and see what would happen.

That was the first step to becoming rich!
